Belgium’s National Lottery has announced that the person that won a 3.5-million-euro jackpot on 14 June this year has finally been traced. The lucky winner lives in the Waasland area of East Flanders.
For more than four and a half months there had been no trace of the winner and they had not come forward to claim their prize. However, in a statement released on Tuesday morning the National Lottery said that the efficiency of its IT systems and the expertise of it staff had enabled it to find the jackpot winner.
The winner has reacted and thanked the National Lottery for all the efforts that have been made to trace them.
“I am extremely grateful to the National Lottery for their efforts in locating me. Without them, I would never have received this jackpot”. The lucky winner says that they intend to invest the money in property and holidays.
To guarantee the anonymity of the winner, there will be no official cheque presentation at the point of sale where the winning ticket was purchased. No further details will be released that could lead to the winner being identified.
