The latest drawing comes amid a record-breaking drought without a jackpot winner. This will be the 39th drawing since the last jackpot hit in late June — topping the game’s previous record streak of 37.
The jackpot has climbed to the eighth-largest figure in Mega Millions history at an estimated $900 million. A potential winner would also have a cash option of $415.3 million.
The seven jackpots in Mega Millions history worth more than the current one were all above the $1 billion mark. The largest jackpot victory in the game’s 23-year history was $1.602 billion in 2023.
The Mega Millions is played in 45 states, Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Drawings taking place on Tuesdays and Fridays.
The odds of winning the jackpot are a minuscule 1 in 290,472,336.
