A Lotto Max winner says he hopes to help his kids out with his newfound windfall, including putting some of it towards a down payment on a house for his son.
Jason Ganske of Rocky Mountain House, Alta., won $265,405.10 on the March 28 Lotto Max draw.
Gunske scanned the ticket in-store and was so excited, he told the Western Canadian Lottery Corporation (WCLC) that he took a video of the win notification and immediately sent it to his wife.
“When I sent her the video of the win coming up, she said, ‘What does that mean?’” he laughed while claiming his prize. “I was just still in shock!”
Ganske added that he’s excited about all the possibilities for enjoying his recent windfall, including treating his kids to some things.
“I can pay off debt, help out the kids, and put some into savings,” he smiled. “I can help my son with a down payment on a house and upgrade my daughter’s car that she’s been driving for years — it’s a good feeling!”
Ganske said the feeling of winning is surreal to him: “I still don’t believe it!” he laughed.
He purchased his winning Lotto Max ticket from 7-Eleven at 4602 50th Ave. in Rocky Mountain House. He won his prize on the March 28 Lotto Max draw by matching six out of seven of the numbers selected, plus the bonus number: 7, 13, 33, 40, 44, 49, 50, and Bonus 32.
Hoping to get as lucky as this lottery winner? The next Lotto Max draw is on Friday, May 9. The jackpot has just hit the game’s maximum prize limit of $80 million. There are also 14 Maxmillions prizes to be won.
