The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division charged a Clarendon County man with lottery fraud after state investigators said she redeemed stolen scratch-off tickets while working at a Manning business.
Deeandria Q. Andrews, 38, was charged on Friday with two counts of intent to defraud and passing counterfeit game tickets. The investigation was requested by the SC Education Lottery.
According to arrest warrants, Andrews stole lottery tickets while employed at Travel Centers of America #179 on Paxville Highway.
On Aug. 27, she passed six stolen scratch-off tickets, redeeming them for $45, authorities said. Two days earlier, on Aug. 25, she passed three stolen tickets, cashing them in for $15.
Andrews was booked into the Clarendon County Detention Center. The 3rd Circuit Solicitor’s Office will prosecute the case.
