WAUSAU, Wis. — Hy-Vee in Wausau has made a splashy entrance by selling a $7.1 million Megabucks jackpot ticket. The store, which took the place of the County Market at 220 S. 18th Ave., reopened as Hy-Vee just this Tuesday and quickly became a lucky spot for one fortunate customer.
“We are brand new to the community,” said Store Director Jake Dryer. “It’s really exciting to sell a big winner on our third day open as Hy-Vee.”
This recent win adds to Wausau’s streak of Lotto luck in 2025. Earlier this year, local Kwik Trip stores and Rib Foods, LLC sold winning tickets for other significant prizes.
The $7.1 million ticket is the fourth largest Megabucks jackpot since 2017.
The biggest winner was worth $15.1 million in Luck (seriously) in 2023.
Megabucks is a Wisconsin-exclusive game with drawings on Wednesday and Saturday. Tickets must be purchased before 9 p.m. on draw days.
Winners have 180 days from the draw date to claim their prizes. More information is available at wilottery.com or through the Wisconsin Lottery mobile app.
