Pi Coin Price Points To New Lows As Bearish Signals Strengthen – beincrypto.com

Pi Coin price has slipped nearly 1% in the past 24 hours and is down 6.5% over the past week, underperforming the broader market.
While most tokens tend to stage short-lived rebounds during corrections, technical and on-chain signals suggest PI’s downtrend is far from over.
The Chaikin Money Flow (CMF), which tracks capital inflows and outflows, briefly moved higher earlier in August, hinting at rising demand. But the latest reading has dropped back below zero, confirming that selling pressure still outweighs capital inflows.
For PI, this shift suggests buyers attempted to regain control but failed to sustain it.
The Bull Bear Power (BBP) reinforces the bearish picture. It’s an indicator that gauges whether buyers (bulls) or sellers (bears) control the market.
While the indicator shows that bearish strength has eased slightly, the last two sessions have remained flat. This suggests that bulls attempted a push but failed to overpower sellers.
When paired with CMF’s negative reading, the data suggests that selling pressure is still firmly in control despite buyers trying to undo the bearish momentum.

The weakness seen in CMF and BBP is echoed by momentum signals. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) has formed a hidden bearish divergence.
This means while PI’s price chart shows lower highs, the RSI posted higher highs near the mid-40s. This disconnect indicates momentum isn’t translating into upward price action, reinforcing the bearish bias.
The Relative Strength Index (RSI) measures the speed and strength of price moves, showing whether an asset is overbought or oversold. A hidden bearish divergence occurs when the price makes lower highs while the RSI makes higher highs.
This signals that even though momentum seems stronger, sellers still control the trend, and the downtrend is likely to continue.
This kind of hidden bearish divergence emphasises the continuation of the downtrend for the Pi Coin price. The pattern flashing on the daily chart (longer timeframe) might be the key reason why a new Pi Coin price low is imminent.
Currently trading near $0.359, the PI price faces strong support at $0.350. A breakdown below this level could accelerate losses toward $0.339 and $0.322, with fresh all-time lows likely if $0.322 is breached.
On the upside, bulls would need to reclaim $0.377 and then $0.408 to reverse the structure; a move that looks unlikely unless inflows return decisively.

Trump authorizes 300 National Guard members to Illinois to assist with deportations over JB Pritzker’s objections – Chicago Tribune

Trending:
President Donald Trump authorized a historic federalized deployment of 300 National Guard members Saturday to the Chicago area over the objections of Democratic Gov. JB Pritzker, with the White House saying it was needed to protect federal officers and assets conducting immigration enforcement amid “ongoing violent riots and lawlessness.”
But Pritzker and the state’s leading Democrats accused Trump of further escalating chaos and fear by utilizing a military deployment of National Guard members to support the controversial actions of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Border Patrol officers already deployed in its aggressive “Operation Midway Blitz.”
Ironically, Trump was silent on Saturday about the deployment after months of mocking Chicago and Pritzker, a vehement critic of the president, over the city’s crime problems and threatening a federalization and mobilization of National Guard troops to the nation’s third-largest city. Trump made no statement or comment on his Truth Social social media network about the deployment as of Saturday evening.
Instead, it was Pritzker who said he had been given an ultimatum from Trump’s Department of Defense: “Call up your troops, or we will.”
“It is absolutely outrageous and un-American to demand a Governor send military troops within our own borders and against our will,” Pritzker said in a statement, adding that he believed it was Illinois National Guard members who were the troops being mobilized.
The governor’s announcement came just hours after federal immigration agents shot a woman in a disputed incident in Chicago’s Brighton Park neighborhood. While a Department of Homeland Security spokesperson said on social media that the woman was part of a group of drivers who “boxed in” and rammed a car carrying federal agents, activists said a car containing ICE agents crashed into a civilian car and the agents then began shooting.

The woman did not appear to be seriously injured but the shooting at the intersection of Pershing Road and South Kedzie Avenue quickly sparked protests nearby, in which federal agents used flash-bang grenades and deployed tear gas at protesters after some had tossed water bottles at the agents.
A deployment of the Guard was confirmed hours after Pritzker’s statement by the White House.
“Amidst ongoing violent riots and lawlessness, that local leaders like Pritzker have refused to step in to quell, President Trump has authorized 300 national guardsmen to protect federal officers and assets,” White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson said in a statement. “President Trump will not turn a blind eye to the lawlessness plaguing American cities.”
The White House did not elaborate on whether Illinois National Guard troops will be mobilized or if members of the Guard from out of state would be utilized.
But Pritzker countered that the Trump administration’s plans were unnecessary and would “pull hardworking Americans out of their regular jobs and away from their families all to participate in a manufactured performance — not a serious effort (to) protect public safety.”
Despite Trump’s repeated threats of military intervention, the governor has maintained, “There is no need for military troops on the ground in the State of Illinois.” He said state, county and local law enforcement have been coordinating to ensure the constitutional rights and public safety are preserved around ICE’s facility in west suburban Broadview, where sizeable protests have routinely resulted in activists and residents being tear-gassed and shot with pepper balls and other projectiles.
“I will not call up our National Guard to further Trump’s acts of aggression against our people,” Pritzker said.
The announcement comes nearly a month after Trump’s Department of Homeland Security launched its Operation Midway Blitz surge of immigration enforcement activities on Sept. 8, which DHS said has resulted in more than 800 arrests. A memo sent Sept. 26 by DHS to the Department of Defense, which has been obtained by the Tribune, stated that the troops were needed to protect ICE personnel and facilities.
It also follows one day after DHS Secretary Kristi Noem visited the Broadview ICE facility at 1930 Beach St., where she stood on the roof surrounded by heavily armed agents while observing protests on the ground below.
Despite the demonstrations, Noem maintained the people of Chicago “are grateful you are here” and told agents as they prepared to leave the facility for enforcement activities, “We’re going to go hard.”
Noem also spoke of an expansion of ICE’s facility by purchasing a nearby building and said it would “send a message: We’re not just here, we’re here to stay, and we’re expanding and we’re going to make this city safe again.”
The federal operations have cast a wide net across the Chicago region, and while Trump officials claim they are arresting “the worst of the worst,” ICE and federal Border Patrol agents have been accused of repeatedly arresting and detaining American citizens and individuals who did not have criminal backgrounds.
Following the governor’s announcement, Democratic leaders in Illinois criticized any effort to deploy troops to the state.
“Terrorizing families with midnight raids and military troops in our streets is writing a shameful chapter in our nation’s history,” U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin said in a statement. “This President is not intent on fighting crime. He is intent on spreading fear.”
U.S. Sen. Tammy Duckworth added that federalizing National Guard troops is “a dangerous, un-American, and unconstitutional abuse of our military, intended to instill fear and threaten American civil rights.”
“Our military men and women signed up to defend the Constitution and our rights, not be used as political props or to silence dissent. Illinois does not want or need troops in our cities. Full stop,” said Duckworth, an Iraq War veteran.
U.S. Rep. Robin Kelly, who is running for Senate to replace Durbin, who is retiring, said in a statement that Trump is “playing dictator and abusing his powers.”
“President Trump is bringing war to Chicago. He’s called our city violent and out of control, yet he is the one who has endangered our communities, terrorized immigrants, and wreaked chaos,” she said.
Another Senate candidate, Lt. Gov. Juliana Stratton, said, “Our city is not a sandbox for Donald Trump to play dictator. It’s intentional cruelty that will devastate families and scar our communities.” While U.S. Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi said the National Guard “should never be used as political props, and Illinois will not stand by while the Trump Administration tries to turn law enforcement into a weapon of fear.”
Pritzker has regularly urged residents to utilize peaceful protests to voice opposition to the immigration enforcement push and to avoid contentious interactions with agents — something he said he believed Trump was encouraging to provide the president with a pretext for sending in the Guard.
But Hands Off Chicago, a group supported by a number of nonprofits, advocacy organizations and unions, said “simply asking people to know their rights and speak out has already proven insufficient” and called for a stronger state response.
“Advocacy organizations, elected leaders, faith leaders, labor, business, community groups, and more have and will continue to peacefully exercise our constitutional rights in protest of military occupation by the Trump Administration,” the group said. “We urge our state and local elected leaders to think creatively and aggressively about the assets available to warn residents and protect peaceful protesters.”
Trump previously federalized Guard troops in Los Angeles after sporadic anti-ICE protests in June and did the same along with law enforcement in Washington, D.C., in August. Early last month, he said he was deploying the Guard to Memphis with the support of Tennessee GOP Gov. Bill Lee, and late last month he said he was authorizing the Guard to go into Portland, Oregon, over the objection of local officials.
On Saturday night, Judge Karin Immergut, a Trump appointee on the U.S. District Court in Oregon, issued a temporary restraining order blocking the president’s mobilization of 200 National Guard members in Portland, writing the decision to deploy troops was not “conceived in good faith” and that the president’s claims about chaos in Portland was “simply untethered to the facts.”
Oregon Attorney General Dan Rayfield, a Democrat, called the ruling “a healthy check on the president.”
“It reaffirms what we already knew: Portland is not the president’s war-torn fantasy. Our city is not ravaged, and there is no rebellion,” Rayfield said in a statement that echoed Pritzker’s remarks about Chicago. “Members of the Oregon National Guard are not a tool for him to use in his political theater.”
Under the Posse Comitatus Act of 1878, the Guard is prohibited from conducting law enforcement activities on U.S. soil. A federal judge in California ruled the Guard’s actions in Los Angeles violated that prohibition, but the case is being appealed. Pritzker also has threatened a lawsuit over the Guard’s use in Illinois.
Trump’s federalization of the National Guard troops, despite the governor’s objections, is unprecedented in Illinois. State officials have stated that there is no historical record of the National Guard being federalized for an in-state response without the governor’s request or agreement.
In August, Trump threatened to send National Guard troops to Chicago. At first, he said it was to tamp down overall crime, following up on his moves to deploy troops in Washington, D.C. The administration later revised that messaging, saying troops were needed to protect immigration officers and buildings.
As the White House has pushed for more deportations, the president has also slammed sanctuary laws across the nation, including in Chicago and Illinois, that prevent local law enforcement from working with federal agents on immigration enforcement. Under Illinois’ TRUST Act, signed into law in 2017 by a Republican governor, local and state law enforcement agencies are generally prohibited from assisting federal immigration enforcement with deportations or related tasks.
Meanwhile, the federal law enforcement presence has also grown more visible in recent weeks, with agents and officers seen walking through downtown Chicago and driving into numerous Latino neighborhoods and suburbs with significant Latino populations to stop people and make arrests. Multiple videos on social media have shown agents arresting people on the street while being met with jeers and other resistance from passersby and residents.
That’s exactly what happened Saturday at the scene of the shooting in Brighton Park when a tense standoff developed between activists and federal agents.
In the hours after the agents shot the woman, activists gathered by the intersection where it occurred and began yelling at and mocking federal agents. After some protesters threw water bottles at the agents, the agents responded by deploying tear gas and chemical “pepper ball” bullets at protesters. The agents also made several arrests before leaving the scene. The protesters then also left.
The DHS spokesperson said the woman who was shot drove herself to the hospital and a spokesperson for Mount Sinai Hospital later said the wounded woman had been treated and released Saturday afternoon.
In the last 60 years, the Illinois National Guard has been called to Chicago largely to deal with rioting and other unrest. As word spread of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr’s assassination in April 1968, for instance, riots and looting took place across the country, including in Chicago. At that time, the National Guard began as a state-active duty mission, but at the request of the governor’s office, the guardsmen were later placed on federal orders for the remainder of their response.
During the unrest that came during the Democratic National Convention later that year, Democratic Gov. Samuel Shapiro ordered thousands of National Guard troops to assist the almost 12,000 Chicago police officers, 1,000 federal agents and 7,500 U.S. soldiers already on duty to maintain law and order during the convention.
More recently, the Illinois National Guard was on the ground as the state administered thousands of COVID-19 tests, with nearly 3,000 Guard troops aiding in various missions across the state, including conducting about 233,000 tests. It marked the first time the soldiers and airmen had been mobilized primarily to combat a medical issue in the state of Illinois.
Following a request from then-Mayor Lori Lightfoot, Pritzker called for 375 Illinois National Guard members to assist local police in quelling civil unrest following the death of George Floyd on May 25, 2020, in Minnesota. The following year, the governor activated 125 members of the National Guard again at Lightfoot’s request ahead of the guilty verdict of Derek Chauvin, the ex-Minneapolis police officer convicted in Floyd’s murder.

XRP, Solana, and Litecoin Poised for ETF-Driven Rally in October – CoinCentral

October is shaping up to be one of the most pivotal months in recent crypto history, with multiple exchange-traded fund (ETF) approvals expected to shake up the market. The anticipation is already building as analysts point to XRP, Solana (SOL), and Litecoin (LTC) as potential breakout tokens once institutional money begins flowing into these assets through regulated products.
At the same time, retail investors are looking beyond the giants and turning toward early-stage projects like MAGACOIN FINANCE, which has already raised $15.5 million in presale rounds. Many believe that getting in before major listings could turn modest investments into massive gains.

The cryptocurrency market has long awaited broader ETF approval beyond Bitcoin and Ethereum. October brings several decision deadlines from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regarding products tied to altcoins. If greenlit, these funds would allow mainstream investors to gain exposure to tokens like XRP, Solana, and Litecoin without directly holding them, potentially unlocking billions in new inflows.
Bitcoin ETFs have already proven how impactful these vehicles can be. In late September, a flood of inflows helped Bitcoin rebound sharply, climbing from $109,000 to over $120,000 in just a few days. If similar demand builds around altcoin ETFs, the effect on prices could be explosive.
XRP has already gained traction this year thanks to its legal clarity after years of battles with the SEC. With the possibility of an ETF approval, institutional exposure could accelerate adoption for cross-border payments and remittances, where XRP is already a leader.
At just above $2.80, analysts believe XRP has room to climb significantly, with some pointing to $5 price targets in the coming cycle. ETF approval could provide the exact spark needed to ignite that rally, giving XRP the liquidity and visibility to attract fresh capital.
Solana has consistently drawn attention for its lightning-fast transactions and growing ecosystem. Already trading around $228, SOL has staged a strong recovery from recent lows, and ETF speculation has fueled even more optimism.
If Solana secures ETF approval, analysts see the possibility of a rally toward $300, a level not seen since its 2021 peak. Institutional exposure could also cement Solana’s position as a legitimate competitor to Ethereum, particularly in the areas of DeFi, NFTs, and real-world asset tokenization.
While Litecoin doesn’t often dominate headlines, its reputation as “digital silver” to Bitcoin’s “digital gold” has earned it a loyal following. LTC has long been favored for its speed and reliability, making it a consistent presence among top altcoins.
With ETF approval in play, Litecoin could experience renewed interest as investors search for lower-priced, established assets to complement Bitcoin and Ethereum exposure. Trading just under $70, analysts suggest LTC could climb back toward the $150 zone if momentum builds.
While ETFs open the door for institutions to pile into XRP, SOL, and LTC, retail investors are also hunting for the next big presale opportunity. MAGACOIN FINANCE has emerged as the breakout candidate, raising $15.5 million in record time and positioning itself as one of the most promising early-stage tokens of the year.
Analysts highlight the potential upside: early positioning in MAGACOIN FINANCE could turn a $2,500 stake into as much as $50,000, assuming projections of a 50x return materialize once it lists on major exchanges. That kind of exponential growth simply isn’t possible anymore with established coins like Dogecoin or Litecoin, whose market caps make massive percentage gains unlikely.
The buzz around MAGACOIN FINANCE mirrors the early days of meme coins like SHIBA INU and PEPE, which transformed small early bets into substantial windfalls. With presale allocations selling out rapidly, it’s becoming one of the most talked-about speculative opportunities heading into the final quarter of 2025.

The alignment of ETF approvals with improving macro sentiment sets the stage for a powerful month. Institutional inflows are likely to concentrate around major altcoins like XRP, Solana, and Litecoin, potentially sparking rallies not seen in years.
At the same time, retail investors are balancing their exposure by betting on new presales like MAGACOIN FINANCE, which offer the kind of asymmetric upside that established altcoins can no longer provide. Together, this dual dynamic could make October one of the most important months for crypto in 2025.
XRP, Solana, and Litecoin are positioned for major moves as ETF approvals approach in October, giving institutions a new gateway into the altcoin market. But while these tokens could see strong gains, MAGACOIN FINANCE is drawing attention for its explosive presale growth, with analysts projecting that early investors could turn $2,500 into $50,000.
For traders, the message is clear: October could mark the beginning of a historic altcoin rally-one that blends the safety of established assets with the excitement of early-stage opportunities.

8 Tips for Growing Cherry Tomato Plants That Will Thrive All Season – AOL.com

For premium support please call:
For premium support please call:
Cherry tomato plants are the first type of tomato to ripen in summer gardens and one of the last that are still producing when frost threatens. The bite-size fruit is easy to enjoy fresh right off the prolific plants, or use your cherry tomatoes in a flavorful recipe. These growing tips will help you keep your plants healthy and maximize your harvest.
szatmazs / 500px / Getty Images
Available in both round and oblong varieties (sometimes called grape tomatoes), cherry tomato plants fruit in a rainbow of colors. From rich red ‘Valentine’ to nearly orange ‘Sungold’ and the dusty plum of ‘Purple Bumble Bee,’ cherry tomatoes add instant color to a plate. A few varieties have received awards for their flavor, disease-resistance, ease of growing, and productivity. These cultivars are All-America Selections winners because of their superior performance from midsummer until frost.
‘Crokini’ has very sweet round fruit with a firm texture. Excellent disease resistance makes it a great cultivar for the Southeast.
‘Jolly’ produces clusters of a dozen or more round, red fruit. Disease resistany and productive, plants fruit until killed by frost.
‘Purple Zebra’ is a green and deep mahogany striped tomato with a complex flavor and firm texture.
‘Valentine’ has oblong fruit that is deep red and has a sweet taste. The meaty tomatoes resist splitting and hold well on the vine.
Heirloom cherry tomato varieties are prized for their flavor and thin skins. They have a short window of harvest before they are overripe. Check the fruit daily when it begins to color. Heirloom cherry tomatoes have a shorter shelf-life than hybrids, but their flavor overrides their shortcomings.
‘Ingleheart Yellow’ has a sweet, rich flavor and a round shape.
‘Principe Borghese’ is a plum-shape Italian tomato with intense red coloring.
‘Yellow Pear’ has super sweet pear-shape yellow-gold fruit.
Most cherry tomato plants are so productive because they are massive plants. Don’t be fooled by the size of the seedling at planting time. The 6-inch-tall garden center transplant will grow into a 6-foot tall and wide plant with sprawling branches in about two months. Give the plant plenty of space to grow to its full size by planting it so it has at least 3 feet of space on all sides.
To ensure robust plant growth, give your cherry tomato plants plenty of space by planting them at least 3 feet apart on all sides. This prevents overcrowding and allows the plants to reach their full size.
A tall, sturdy tomato cage or trellis is essential for growing cherry tomato plants that will fruit until the first frost. Heavy-duty premade tomato cages can work if they are firmly anchored to the ground—the larger the cage, the more apt it is to topple over in a windstorm. Secure a tomato cage by sinking 6-foot-tall stakes 2 feet into the soil on either side of the tomato cage. Tie the cage to the stakes. You can also make your own tomato trellis using heavy gauge wire cattle panels and fence posts.

While tall trellises and generous spacing are a must for many cherry tomato varieties, it's still possible to grow this type of tomato in pots. That's because plant breeders have selected several cultivars that thrive in the confines of a large container. Plant these varieties in a container that is at least 14 inches wide.
‘Patio Choice Yellow’ produces yellow cherry-size tomatoes on 18-inch plants.
‘Tidy Treats’ produces tiny cherry-size tomatoes from midsummer until frost.
‘Tiny Tim’ is covered with flavorful red cherry-size fruit. It grows just 12 inches tall.
‘Tumbler’ has sweet, cherry-size tomatoes on cascading branches. Good cultivar for growing over the side of a container or in a hanging basket.
If you garden in the extreme heat and humidity of Hardiness Zones 8 or 9 and have had trouble growing tomatoes in the past, plant cherry types in early spring. Because they ripen earlier than larger slicers and beefsteaks, cherry tomatoes often thrive in hot regions. Plant transplants in early spring so they can bloom and set fruit before temperatures rise above 85°F. Expect to harvest tomatoes before the intense summer heat sets in. ‘Super Sweet 100,’ ‘Sweet Treats,’ and ‘Juliet’ have good disease resistance for hot, humid climates.
Cherry tomato plants need about an inch of water a week to grow and produce fruit. When natural rainfall doesn’t provide an inch of moisture, supplement with hand watering or drip irrigation. Regular watering is essential to fruit formation. Cherry tomatoes’ thin skins and petite fruit size makes them especially vulnerable to cracking or splitting. Dry conditions followed by abundant water will cause the tomato flesh to expand faster than the tomato skin and soon cracks develop so try to keep soil moisture consistent.
Cherry tomato plants are so prolific that their fruit ripens almost constantly for weeks. Check plants every other day to harvest the ripe fruit. Cherry tomatoes are ripe when they are fully colored but still slightly firm to the touch. Harvest fruit regularly to spur plants to continue producing and keep pests at bay. Going away on vacation? Invite a neighbor to come harvest in return for watering.

Proposed state bills would impose excise tax on cryptocurrency mining – Finger Lakes Times

Sunny. Continued very warm. High near 85F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph..
A mostly clear sky. Low 57F. Winds light and variable.
Updated: October 5, 2025 @ 12:25 am
Kelles
Kelles
TORREY — State Sen. Liz Kreuger, D-28 of Manhattan, and Assemblywoman Anna Kelles, D-125 of Ithaca, have introduced bills to establish an excise tax on proof-of-work cryptocurrency mining facilities, such as the Greenidge Generation plant on the west shore of Seneca Lake in the Yates County town of Torrey.
The two legislators issued a news release announcing the bill introductions, claiming the bill “ensures that companies that consume massive amounts of electricity driving up New Yorkers’ electricity rates, pay their fair share while providing direct relief to families struggling with rising utility costs.”
They said the legislation requires companies to internalize the true costs of their operations, rather than shifting those burdens onto ratepayers and communities. It does this by establishing an excise tax on electricity used by digital asset mining operations that rely on proof-of-work validation, said to be the most energy intensive form of cryptocurrency authentication.
The tax is structured on a sliding scale based on electricity consumption, ensuring that the largest and most energy intensive facilities contribute proportionately more. Under the bills, mining operations consuming up to 2.25 million kilowatt hours annually would pay no tax, exempting small-scale operations. Usage between 2.2 and 5 million kilowatt hours would be taxed 2 cents per kilowatt hour. Facilities using 5 to 10 million kilowatt hours would be taxed at 3 cents per kilowatt hour. Those using between 10 and 20 million kilowatt hours annually would be taxed at 4 cents per kilowatt hour and consumption above 20 million kilowatt hours would face the highest rate of 5 cents per kilowatt hour.
Revenue generated by the excise tax would go directly into the existing New York’s Energy Affordability programs, which provide critical assistance to low to moderate income households across the state.
Operations that are powered by renewable energy and not connected to the grid are exempt. Greenidge uses natural gas as its power source to run turbines that, in turn, generate electricity for the grid and power large computers used in bitcoin manufacturing.
Kelles and Kreuger said the proposed excise tax provides a “durable, long term policy that prevents the externalization of costs while supporting clean energy and ratepayer relief. They said the bill is estimated to raise more than $50 million annually for energy affordability programs administered by the state Department of Public Service, which provides income-eligible consumers with a discount on their monthly energy bills.
“Cryptocurrency mining corporations reap enormous profits while externalizing the true costs of their operations onto our communities, our climate and New York families’ utility bills,” Kelles said. “This bill ensures that the most energy-intensive facilities pay their fair share, rather than forcing ratepayers to subsidize pollution, grid expansion and ecological damage. By directing revenues into energy affordability programs, we are turning a source of possible harm into a tool for relief, protecting households while upholding New York’s climate commitments.”
The two state lawmakers said that according to the International Energy Agency, electricity consumption from data centers, artificial intelligence and the cryptocurrency sectors could double by 2026, potentially exceeding 1,000 terawatt hours or the equivalent of Japan’s total electricity demand. In 2022, those sectors collectively accounted for about 2% of global electricity consumption or 460 terawatt hours, with cryptocurrency mining alone responsible for nearly a quarter of that total or roughly 110 terawatt hours.
They said research shows that the arrival of cryptocurrency mining facilities drive up electricity bills statewide, adding an estimated $79 million annually in costs for individuals and $165 million for small businesses.
The lawmakers also cited serious environmental concerns from the mining operations, including use of freshwater to cool re-powered gas plants, constant noise pollution, mining equipment electronic waste and damage to lake water and aquatic life by returning cooling water back at high temperatures.
In 2022, the state enacted a two-year moratorium on new fossil fuel based proof-of-work mining to allow the state DEC time to study the industry’s environmental and economic impacts. The report’s findings conservatively estimated that emissions from currently operating facilities in the state could impose damages of around $10.6 billion between 2024 and 2050.
Greenidge plant manager Dale Irwin responded to the proposed legislation.
“We are an essential electricity producer for upstate New York, not a drain, and any objective view of our operation would show that as we send power to the grid every single day,” he said. “Our facility being able to operate adds power supply to the grid and will continue to do so as the need for power only increases dramatically in the years ahead.”
Irwin added that “Greenidge and the leaders at the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) who help deliver this power each day are playing an integral role in keeping utility prices from flying even higher than they already have in New York.”

Binance aims to turn Thailand into cryptocurrency hub – Theinvestor

Thailand has ample potential to become a cryptocurrency hub in Asia-Pacific, says Binance, as the world’s largest crypto exchange operator identified three pillars to capitalize on growth in the fast-growing region.
SB Seker, the new head of Asia-Pacific for Binance, was quoted by local media as saying that Thailand has a lot of potential to further develop the digital asset space, supported by a clear legal framework, crypto awareness among the population, and the macroeconomic point of view.
In terms of legal stability, Thailand is ahead of many countries in Asia-Pacific regarding regulations and framework. He said awareness of crypto is moderately high in the country, though there’s always room for further education.
According to Chainalysis’s latest annual report, Thailand ranked 17th in the 2025 global crypto adoption index and seventh in Asia-Pacific, following some of the world’s most dynamic and populous market.
Other factors include greater disposable income and the ability of people to make plans about various assets or treasury options, he said.
Thailand’s Securities and Exchange Commission data indicated the value of digital assets in Thailand as of August was nearly THB100 billion ($3.08 billion). There were 2.83 million digital asset accounts last month, up from 2.43 million accounts last year.
Thailand has room for further growth. These improving statistics show Biance the opportunity is high for Thailand to develop as a digital asset hub within the region, said Seker.

Zcash's Explosive Surge: A New Dawn for Crypto Treasury Management? – OneSafe

Zcash (ZEC) is on fire, folks! The price has skyrocketed by an astonishing 300%, and it’s turning heads across the crypto and business realms. This surge, driven by institutional interest and a wave of privacy-focused innovations, brings some serious questions to the table. Could Zcash be about to change the game for crypto treasury management in SMEs? Let’s dive in.
What’s behind this jaw-dropping growth? Well, for starters, Grayscale launched its Zcash Trust, which poured a boatload of money into the ecosystem. This kind of institutional backing is a big deal; it gives Zcash some serious street cred and shows that businesses are starting to look for privacy-centric cryptocurrencies to manage their crypto treasuries.
But that’s not all. Zcash’s zk-SNARKs technology means confidential transactions that are particularly appealing to industries that need to keep things under wraps, like fintech and gaming. As more companies start to dip their toes into crypto, Zcash’s unique features might just become too good to pass up, especially for those considering crypto payroll integration and crypto mass payouts.
Now, let’s talk about how Zcash could fit into payroll systems for SMEs. On one hand, Zcash could bring some much-needed privacy into payroll solutions, which is a major plus in industries where discretion is key. But on the flip side, Zcash’s price volatility is a massive risk for companies, most of whom are still more comfortable with stablecoins due to their predictability and quicker processing times.
Still, the growing appetite for privacy-focused cryptocurrencies could push more fintech startups to take a closer look at Zcash for payroll purposes. Especially as younger generations push for “pay me in crypto,” Zcash might just find itself at the center of the payroll conversation.
But hold your horses—Zcash’s rise isn’t without its fair share of regulatory challenges. The EU is gearing up to ban privacy coins, including Zcash. By July 2027, crypto service providers in the EU may not even be able to list or support privacy coins. That’s a tough blow for mainstream adoption.
This looming ban creates a complex regulatory landscape that could deter institutional investment and complicate compliance. Businesses interested in using Zcash will have their work cut out for them, perhaps having to adopt some hybrid compliance solutions that keep privacy in check while still playing nice with regulations.
If Zcash is going to be a player in payroll, companies will need to figure out how to deal with its price swings. One approach could be dollar-cost averaging, where they buy Zcash gradually over time to smooth out those fluctuations. Crypto treasury APIs could also be a useful tool, automating transactions and helping to manage some of that volatility.
And hey, offering employees the option to receive part of their salary in stablecoins? That could be a solid way to keep everyone happy while still enjoying the perks Zcash has to offer.
In short, Zcash’s incredible price surge might just mark a turning point for crypto treasury management in SMEs, showcasing a growing interest in privacy-focused cryptocurrencies. While there are plenty of opportunities here, the regulatory and volatility risks could be significant roadblocks.
As the crypto landscape continues to change, Zcash’s ability to adapt will be crucial. If it can navigate these challenges, Zcash could redefine how businesses think about crypto treasury management, ushering in a new era of financial possibilities.
