Johns Hopkins University faculty and staff gathered Nov. 18 for the return of Homewood Basket Bingo, a spirited fundraiser benefiting United Way and sponsored by the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences’ United Way Committee. The event, which had been paused for a couple of years, drew nearly 75 colleagues for 10 lively rounds of bingo and a chance to win themed baskets donated by campus partners. Adding to the festive atmosphere were a taco-bar lunch provided by 1876 Distinction Catering and raffle drawings offering chances to win JHU gear, a Kindle, and a Ring security system.
“It was great to connect with new people and have fun while supporting a good cause,” said attendee Natalie Culberston, a staff member in the Krieger School. “Not to mention, I ended up winning one of the raffle prizes.”
This year’s basket bingo raised close to $1,000 for United Way nonprofits focused on education, financial stability, and health. The Krieger School’s United Way Committee expressed appreciation for the enthusiastic turnout and the volunteers who helped make the event possible.
The success of the revived Homewood Basket Bingo highlights the Krieger School’s commitment to service and reflects how Johns Hopkins faculty and staff continue to support the broader community through meaningful and collaborative engagement.
