EuroMillions: Winners of €250m jackpot in Ireland are family syndicate – BBC

The winners of the €250m (£216m) EuroMillions jackpot have said they plan to remain in Ireland but have been looking at holiday homes in the sun.
A member of the family syndicate – who have chosen to remain anonymous – bought the winning ticket at Clifford's Centra in Cork city in the Republic of Ireland while running errands.
The winning buyer said they were a regular lottery player but had not bought a ticket for the previous two EuroMillions draws.
Despite the unexpected windfall, the family said they planned to stay down to earth.
"We're planning to remain in Ireland, and we promised ourselves that we won't let this win change us," a family member said.
Another added: "I'll still be having my favourite ham and cheese sambo for lunch every day."
"We're absolutely going on a family holiday. We love to travel and there's so many amazing trips we've always dreamed of that we can now make a reality.
"We're already looking at holiday homes somewhere in the sun."
The family said they checked their ticket after learning that the jackpot had been won in Ireland while watching the news.
A family member said they " couldn't believe my eyes" after a message on the National Lottery app revealed they had "won big".
"I ran upstairs to my wife who had just gone to bed and woke her up", they added.
"We both checked the numbers multiple times on the website. We sat at the edge of the bed, saying 'Oh my god' over and over – I reckon we said it about 50 times.
"We were in total shock, complete disbelief."
The winning numbers were 13, 22, 23, 44, 49, Lucky Stars 3 and 5.
Niall Long, 33, and Luke Taylor, 27, were both found guilty of Mr Quilligan's murder last week last week.
It is understood that viewers watching the rollover saw the programme abruptly cut off.
Becky Gilmour set out on her coastal journey to help "open up the conversation around suicide".
The remains of Kieran Quilligan, 47, were found in a bag down a ravine after he had been missing for five months.

Skidding Grizzlies, Mavericks square off in NBA Cup action – CBS Sports

If not listed, please contact your TV provider.
There’s trouble brewing in the first few weeks of the NBA season for the Memphis Grizzlies.
The Grizzlies, who play host to the Dallas Mavericks on Friday night in an NBA Cup game, have lost four straight and their top two players — All-Stars Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson Jr. — are struggling in new coach Tuomas Iisalo’s system.
In Wednesday’s 124-109 loss to the Houston Rockets, Jackson, averaging 17 points per game, attempted only one shot in the opening half and six in total. He finished the game with nine points in 29 minutes.
The story was similar in Monday’s home loss to the Detroit Pistons. Jackson attempted only three shots in the first half.
Jackson’s number of field-goal attempts per game (11.7) is at its lowest point since 2020-21. Jackson averaged more than 22 points in each of the past two seasons.
Jackson doesn’t place the blame on Iisalo’s system. He said he’s got to take responsibility.
“You just got to be aggressive,” Jackson said. “You just got to be in attack mode.”
Iisalo said the Grizzlies need to be more persistent getting the ball to Jackson. His teammates have been reluctant to go back to him if there’s solid defensive pressure on the first try. Iisalo is convinced Jackson’s shot attempts and offensive production will increase soon.
“Maybe there’s a moment of being discouraged of not getting the ball there, and we got to get over that and look to get the ball in his hands more,” Iisalo said.
Morant, suspended for Sunday’s game at Toronto for postgame comments directed at the Memphis coaching staff, has had a frustrating time getting into an offensive flow. Morant made 11 of 35 field goals in the past two games and only one of 11 3-point tries.
The team’s struggles from deep haven’t been limited to Morant. Memphis ranks 25th in the league in 3-point percentage.
Dallas is having its problems too. Minus the injured Kyrie Irving (knee) for the long run and Anthony Davis (calf) in the short team, the Mavericks have lost three straight and are 2-6 overall.
Mavericks coach Jason Kidd attempted to shake things up by moving veteran sharpshooter Klay Thompson to the second unit in Wednesday’s 101-99 loss to the New Orleans Pelicans.
Thompson came off the bench for the first time as a Maverick and finished with 11 points on 4-of-7 shooting in 21 minutes.
“I talked to Klay and said this isn’t a permanent thing, but can you come off the bench?” Kidd said. “And he was good with it. I thought him coming off the bench gave us a spark. That first group, for whatever reason, was a little tight. Everyone was trying to play perfect.”
Cooper Flagg, the No. 1 overall draft pick this summer, had one of his better outings. He finished with 20 points, nine rebounds and three steals.
“I thought I just played natural,” Flagg said. “I’ve got to keep working on moving the ball and attacking mismatches.
“But no one’s happy (with the rough start). I wouldn’t say anybody’s happy. Everyone’s trying to stay level-headed. It’s not fun to keep losing games.”

Pi Network Price Up 2% Today as Pi Coin Outflows Increase – Pintu

Jakarta, Pintu News – Pi Network appears to be struggling to maintain its recovery momentum from late October, with the altcoin facing increasing selling pressure throughout this week.
The ongoing decline has erased most of the recent gains, along with continued market uncertainty and hesitation from investors. A combination of external market conditions and internal investor sentiment seem to be the main factors driving the price movement to the downside.
Then, how will the Pi Network price move today?
On November 6, 2025, the price of Pi Network was recorded at $0.2239, an increase of 2.5% in 24 hours. If converted to the current rupiah ($1 = IDR 16,703), then 1 Pi Network is IDR 3,739.

In the 24-hour range, the price of PI moved between $0.214 to $0.2291, showing moderate volatility with a tendency for the price to strengthen towards its daily high.
Pi Network’s market capitalization currently stands at around $1.86 billion, with a fairly active 24-hour trading volume of $33.78 million. This suggests there is considerable buying and selling interest in the market.
The Chaikin Money Flow (CMF) indicator shows that Pi Coin investors are actively withdrawing funds from the market.
Currently, the CMF is at its lowest level in almost two months and is below the neutral line of zero – indicating that outflows are dominating. This signals that investors are likely realizing profits and reducing their exposure amid a slowing market recovery.
This change in sentiment has weakened Pi Coin’s short-term prospects, reflecting the declining confidence of its holders. The ongoing selling pressure suggests that market participants prefer caution over speculation. Unless inflows return, the chances of a sustained rebound appear limited as liquidity continues to dry up from the market.
From a broader perspective, Pi Coin’s momentum is also starting to lean in a bearish direction. The Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) indicator is close to confirming the bearish crossover signal. The signal line is now approaching the MACD line (blue), indicating a potential shift from neutral to negative momentum in the next few trading sessions.
Historically, this kind of crossover has often triggered significant price corrections for Pi Coin. This upcoming signal reinforces the downside risk, as market conditions are still more favorable for sellers than buyers.

Pi Coin’s price has dropped by almost 15% in the past week after failing to break through resistance at the $0.260 level. As of November 5, the altcoin is trading around $0.220, reflecting a weakening technical position amid waning market support and declining investor optimism.
If this downward trend continues, the price of Pi Coin could potentially fall below $0.209 and re-enter the consolidation zone between $0.209 to $0.198. This pattern, which has happened before, could hamper recovery efforts and extend the bearish phase over the next few weeks.
However, if there is a bounce from the current levels, the momentum could change. If Pi Coin manages to reclaim $0.229 as support, the altcoin could attempt a rally towards resistance at $0.246. Capital inflows and continued investor interest will be key factors to invalidate the current bearish projections.

Friday’s jackpot reached estimated £172m after Tuesday’s top prize went unclaimed
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it’s investigating the financials of Elon Musk’s pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, ‘The A Word’, which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

One lucky ticketholder could have just won a “jaw-dropping” sum of money in Friday’s EuroMillions lottery.
The jackpot reached an estimated £172 million after Tuesday’s top prize went unclaimed.
Friday’s National Lottery EuroMillions winning numbers are 2, 12, 19, 34 and 44. The lucky stars are 6 and 10.
Meanwhile, Friday’s National Lottery Thunderball winning numbers are 3, 5, 9, 32 and 33. The thunderball is 12.
And one UK millionaire has been created in the millionaire maker selection: ZJMQ51115.
Andy Carter, senior winners’ advisor at National Lottery operator Allwyn, called Friday’s potential jackpot “jaw-dropping”.
He said: “A single UK winner of this jaw-dropping prize would make National Lottery history, coming in as the fourth biggest National Lottery winner of all time, and it would also be the 20th win of over £100 million since The National Lottery began.”
While no one matched the jackpot on Tuesday, two UK players came close – each winning £192,769 for matching five numbers and one lucky star.
It comes after a single ticketholder became the biggest ever EuroMillions lottery winner in the UK and Ireland in June.
The jackpot of £208m was the largest prize the EuroMillions has ever seen, and was scooped up by a lucky player in Ireland, who purchased the ticket in a retail outlet in Co Cork.
Meanwhile, a single father who has battled bowel cancer captured the touching moment he told his son he had won £1 million on the lottery, with the pair hugging and jumping excitedly around the kitchen in the video.
Paul Harvey, of Attleborough, Norfolk, said on Thursday that he wants to treat his two teenage children to their first foreign holiday together – to Greece.
The 51-year-old, full-time dad, who has had an unsettling two years following treatment for bowel cancer, also plans to buy a Fiat 500 for his daughter who is learning to drive.
“Life hasn’t always been easy, but the kids mean the world to me, and they always come first,” he said.

Hotel and gym plan for ex Sports Direct store in Wolverhampton – BBC

An empty former shop in Wolverhampton city centre could be turned into a 52-bedroom hotel and gym.
The proposal from easyGroup, which runs budget hotels and an airline, involves converting the former SportsDirect store on Queen Street.
The sportswear retailer closed the shop in 2021 after moving to the nearby Mander Centre.
According to the application, the hotel would create 12 jobs, provide much-needed city centre visitor accommodation and improve the look of the existing building.
"The proposed conversion of 4 Queen Street from retail to hotel use represents a high-quality and sustainable redevelopment," it stated.
The application added the scheme would help the local economy by attracting tourists and business users, and the building's "dated" façade would be replaced.
A separate planning application to convert most of the Queen Street's building ground floor into four new retail units was submitted to City of Wolverhampton Council by easyGroup last month.
This news was gathered by the Local Democracy Reporting Service, which covers councils and other public service organisations.
