Welcome to The Athletic's 2025 coverage of the 2025 NFL trade deadline. Below you will find every trade since October and here is where you can keep track of every trade that takes place from now until Tuesday's 4 p.m. ET deadline.
The Titans exchange the pass rusher for a conditional fifth-round pick, a league source told The Athletic on Monday.
The Eagles acquire the Miami pass rusher for a 2026 third-round pick, league sources told The Athletic on Monday.
Share your reactions with us by emailing live@theathletic.com.

It’s a common story across the NFL: Team goes through defensive coaching change, and a once-prominent member of that defense falls out of favor due to age, scheme fit, personality clashes or any of the above. That definitely describes Logan Wilson’s situation in Cincinnati right now. The once-stalwart linebacker and defensive captain has requested a trade after his benching midway through Al Golden’s first season as Bengals defensive coordinator. (Ironically, Golden was Wilson’s position coach on the 2021 Bengals team that reached the Super Bowl.)
Wilson can still play, with 46 tackles this year after on the heels of four straight seasons of at least 100 tackles. Former Bengals defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo is now in the same role on the 7-2 Colts, but linebacker is actually one of the strengths of an inconsistent Indianapolis defense.

The New York Jets continue to get calls on defensive end Jermaine Johnson, who's provided New York's defense a boost of late after battling injury earlier in the season. The 26-year-old is effective both rushing the quarterback and in the run game, recording 19 tackles and a sack in five games this season.
Johnson's 2024 campaign was cut short by an achilles injury but he appears to be healthy once again and continues to be a pivotal piece for what the Jets are trying to build, hence the steep asking price. He's also in the fourth year of his rookie deal with a team option for 2026.
Week 9 of the 2025 NFL season isn’t over just yet! We’re heading out to Arlington for a “Monday Night Football” clash between the Arizona Cardinals and a Dallas Cowboys team looking to get back to .500 on the season.
You can follow our live coverage of the game, including real-time insight and analysis from our NFL writers at AT&T Stadium, right here.
The fifth-round pick that the Ravens are sending to the Titans for OLB Dre’Mont Jones is the one Baltimore got from the Jets during the 2025 NFL Draft, per a team source.

LAS VEGAS — They were letting it ride. They had it schemed up beautifully. And as the winner-take-all play that would decide Sunday’s game at Allegiant Stadium unfolded, Geno Smith’s eyes got big, envisioning a dramatic game-winning pass to an old, reliable friend.
For the Las Vegas Raiders, a team whose offense had taken half a season to show a pulse, it was all there for the taking.
And then, in an instant, it was all bad: another sordid Sunday, in another season slipping away, for an organization and fan base tired of trudging forward into the same old gust of autumn wind.
The Ravens are trading for Titans pass rusher Dre’Mont Jones, a league source tells The Athletic. Baltimore will send a conditional fifth-round pick to Tennessee.

Mark Andrews has been Lamar Jackson’s most reliable target since the two came into the league together as first-round picks in the 2018 NFL Draft. And the veteran tight end can still play, as evidenced by his two touchdown catches in Miami last Thursday. But the Ravens are still 3-5 on the season, and Andrews can become a free agent in the spring.
The 30-year-old Andrews has 26 catches for 230 yards and four touchdowns this season. It’s worth noting that the three-time Pro Bowler was one of Baker Mayfield’s primary pass-catchers when the two were college teammates at Oklahoma.
EAGAN, Minn. — On Sunday, the Minnesota Vikings felt like a different team even though they hadn’t made any acquisitions, and most of the roster remained unchanged. You see, health matters.
Beating the Lions in Detroit was a snapshot of the front office’s original intent this season. The Vikings brass envisioned an offense with enough protection and skill players to buoy young quarterback J.J. McCarthy. Defensively, the outline featured a dominant front.
A bevy of injuries had prevented that picture from coming to fruition — until Sunday. Four of the five primary offensive linemen played. Edge rusher Andrew Van Ginkel returned to fortify the defensive line. Receivers Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison and Jalen Nailor were all active. Running back Aaron Jones was available.
If you haven’t done so yet, and want to kill some time while waiting for the trade deadline to really heat up, be sure to check out The Athletic’s incredible 2025 NFL Playoff Simulator designed by our analytics expert Austin Mock!

The Phildelphia Eagles acquired linebacker Jaelan Phillips from the Miami Dolphins this morning. Here are your views on the deal:
Always a fun exercise to see what you thought about the acquired player when he was coming out of college.
Here were our rankings with of 20 options from mid-1st to mid-2nd in the 2021 draft. I had Jaelean Phillips ranked No. 2:

The Miami Dolphins traded pass rusher Jaelan Phillips to the Philadelphia Eagles for a 2026 third-round pick, according to league sources.
The Eagles have 16 sacks this season, tied for the ninth-fewest in the league, ranking only ahead of the San Francisco 49ers (11 sacks) and Jacksonville Jaguars (10) among teams currently in the playoff field. And only about a quarter of that production has come from the Eagles’ edge rush. Philadelphia has only generated 4.5 sacks from edge rushers this season, with 1.5 of those coming from the now-retired Za’Darius Smith.
The Eagles were an average pass-rushing team in 2023 and 2024 after their extraordinary 70-sack output in 2022, so this issue has been building for a while. Phillips, a first-round pick in 2021, has plenty of physical ability when healthy. He tallied 22 sacks in his first 42 games, but he tore his Achilles in 2023 and his ACL in 2024. He has three sacks so far this season.
With exactly 24 hours until the NFL trade deadline, here are your league-wide views:
Watching Jaxson Dart rubbing two sticks together to try to make a spark with this supporting cast could lead to calls for a trade to upgrade his weapons. Let’s set aside the absurdity of a 2-7 team being buyers at Tuesday’s trade deadline under any circumstance and drill down on why it would be particularly egregious for Joe Schoen to deal away draft assets for an immediate upgrade: The reason the Giants are in this dire position is because of Schoen’s failures.
Yes, Malik Nabers was a hit with the No. 6 pick last year, and his torn ACL in Week 4 was a crushing blow. But the Giants still have Wan'Dale Robinson, who was a second-round pick in 2022, Darius Slayton, who Schoen signed to a three-year, $36 million contract in the offseason, and Jalin Hyatt, who Schoen traded up for in the third round of the 2023 draft.
Schoen made this bed, so he should have to lie in it. If he makes a desperate trade for a receiver this week, it would further illustrate the mistake of keeping this regime for a hot-seat season.
The reality is that having bad receivers as a rookie won’t do irreparable damage to Dart. So the Giants need to operate with the big picture in mind, which means holding onto valuable draft picks, which, as usual under this regime, are on pace to be near the top of each round.

As Giants bottom out with loss to 49ers, there’s little hope of turnaround with this regime
After firing general manager Chris Grier, the Dolphins appear to be waving the white flag on this season which means veterans like Bradley Chubb could be on the move.
Chubb was traded to Miami in 2022 with the idea of helping to transform a Dolphins defense that never took the next step. Three years later, the veteran pass rusher could be dealt again.
The 29-year-old has totaled 14 tackles and four sacks this season, appearing in all nine of Miami's games.
The NFL trade deadline is Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET, with teams racing to upgrade their roster for the stretch run and the postseason.
When making trades, however, teams must consider more than just how the acquisition fits into their roster. New players must also fit into the structure of the teams salary cap.
Unlike in the NBA, which puts different taxes on teams that go over, that is not possible in the NFL. The cap is the cap, and teams must remain compliant throughout the season. Because of this, teams that are tight up against the cap will be restricted in who they can target on the trade market. Teams with more cap space have more flexibility.

Breece Hall is yet another New York Jet that has garnered interest around the league but it remains unclear if the organization has plans to trade him as he seeks a new contract this offseason.
The 24-year-old is still one of the most talented backs in the league with explosive play and pass catching abilities. He's rushed for 581 yards on 117 carries this season, averaging 5.0 yards per attempt with two touchdowns. Hall has also caught 21 passes for 178 yards.
With the Jets sitting at 1-7, teams around the league have understandably checked in to gauge New York's willingness to move on from some of its best assets including defensive tackle Quinnen Williams. He's been a core piece for the Jets for several years hence why the team's asking price remains high.
Williams has recorded 17 tackles, one sack and three forced fumbles this season despite constantly seeing double teams.
PITTSBURGH — With just over 24 hours until the NFL trade deadline, the Steelers took one step to address their wide receiver room. Veteran receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling will be signed to Pittsburgh’s practice squad, according to a team source.
Valdes-Scantling, 31, has tallied 209 receptions for 3,606 yards and 20 touchdowns in his eight-year career. He also won two Super Bowls with the Chiefs. Beyond championship rings and stats, Valdes-Scantling also has plenty of familiarity with quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
From 2018 to 2021, Valdes-Scantling played four seasons alongside Rodgers in Green Bay. The receiver’s best season with the future Hall of Fame QB came in 2020, when Valdes-Scantling made 33 catches for 690 yards and six touchdowns. He also led the league with 20.9 yards per catch in 2020. Last week, after the Steelers worked out the veteran receiver, Rodgers spoke glowingly about his former teammate.

Lottery experts' 9 top tips for winning £131m Euromillions jackpot TONIGHT – plus the exact time to buy your ticket – The Sun

More from The Sun
Lottery gurus, including probability expert David Hodge, explain why it is better to play as a group, and why to avoid “overdue” numbers
EVERYONE wants to win the lottery – but what if we told you the secret to scooping the giant £131million Euromillions jackpot tonight?
Lottery experts have exclusively shared their ultimate tips with Sun readers on how to boost your chances of walking away with the entire mega prize up for grabs.
Maths whizz David Hodge, a lecturer in statistics and data analytics at the University of Glasgow, and Simon Horne, from The National Lottery operator Allwyn UK, share their winning formulae.
Plus Lottery Guy, who has been dishing out winning tips on his blog since 2004, shares how he helps players win big.
Millions of us buy a Euromillions ticket each week, which means there is fierce competition for the top £131million jackpot prize up for grabs tonight.
There have been huge jackpots available recently – a record-breaking £208million prize that was won by a lucky Irish ticket holder last month.
You pick five numbers from 1-50 and two lucky stars from 1-12, or you can choose a lucky dip – which is when the numbers are randomly selected for you.
If you’re lucky enough to have the winning ticket tonight, you’ll instantly become richer than the likes of superstars Daniel Radcliffe, Dua Lipa and tennis ace Andy Murray.
From picking your lucky numbers to joining a syndicate, there’s a heap of practical ways to boost your chances of getting richer overnight.
Of course, the only real way of increasing your chances of winning is to buy more tickets.
Make sure you gamble responsibly. Only gamble with money you can afford to lose, and set a money limit before playing.
If you need advice, visit gamcare.org.uk or GambleAware.org.
Do you have a set of numbers you stick to religiously, but have noticed they just aren’t working for you?
Keep an eye on how often your numbers are being drawn, and if they’re not coming up as often as you would like, you can try a different tactic.
The National Lottery app stores all your tickets from draws you have entered.
The app is free to download from either the App Store on iPhone, or the Google Play Store on Android devices.
That means you can go back in and check your most profitable numbers.
Make a spreadsheet of how often your lucky numbers are being drawn, and every three months, see whether it’s worth keeping them or ditching them for alternatives.
Timing matters when it comes to buying your ticket, said Simon.
If you leave it to the last minute, then there’s a risk that you run out of time to buy yours.
You need to buy your ticket before 7:30pm tonight – otherwise you’ll miss out.
“My main advice is not to leave it too late – don’t rush into the newsagents or load up your app at 7:25pm,” he said.
“You might not be able to upload money onto your online account, or buy your ticket, in time, and you could miss the draw.”
You must pick five main numbers between 1-50 for your EuroMillions ticket and two “lucky star” numbers from 1-12.
It may be tempting to pick your and your loved one’s birthday dates as your main numbers with the hope they bring you luck.
But Lottery Guy said it’s best to avoid this tactic.
This is because there will be lots of people picking birthday dates too. Birthday dates are numbers between 1-31.
There’s a greater chance of having to split the pot between other players if you’re lucky enough to hold the winning ticket.
He says: “Avoiding these numbers doesn’t increase your chance of winning, but if you do win, you’re much less likely to split the prize with other winners.
Adrian Bayford became one of the UK's biggest Euromillions winners in 2012 when he scooped the £148.6 million jackpot.
The former postman celebrated his gigantic win by ordering Domino’s pizza for him and his then-wife, Gillian.
Speaking about the win at the time, Gillian said: ” “I checked the numbers on my phone, the TV, the internet — and we just looked at each other and giggled.”
Adrian and his wife divorced just 15 months after their win, with Gillian later saying the money had come between her and her family.
Adrian has splashed his winnings on various ventures since.
He purchased a Grade II listed estate, Horseheath Lodge, in Cambridgeshire for £6.5million, complete with luxurious amenities.
In 2020, he bought two estates in Scotland — he paid £1.1million for one in Blairgowrie, Perthshire, and days later splashed out 1.35million on another plush pad just 12 miles away.
He has also previously run small businesses on his estate, including a record shop, a pub, and even organised a music festival dubbed a ‘mini Glastonbury’ on his Cambridge Estate since 2017.
In 2023, he began renting out a cottage on his property as an Airbnb for £110 a night, and the following year began renting out a farmhouse on the 189-acre estate for extra cash.
Adrian planted grape vines in 2024, aiming to produce sparkling wine. His vineyard is roughly the size of six football pitches.
Together with his fiancée Tracey Biles, he has been growing his own food in a new kitchen garden, as well as creating a large carp pond and raising goats and pigs.
You have to be in it to win it, so if you want the chance of scooping a jackpot, you must buy a ticket.
But certain days are better than others to play.
Lottery Guy said Tuesday is actually the best day to buy a ticket rather than Friday.
He said: “With EuroMillions, Friday is the much more popular day, so you’ve got more competition on a Friday.
“Consider focusing on the Tuesday draw if you want to keep more of that jackpot for yourself.”
YOU'VE got to be in it to win it.
Every time you buy a ticket the odds of winning increase.
But WARNING – only spend what you can afford. At the end of the day, it’s down to luck.
This is why some people prefer to be part of a syndicate, where multiple tickets are bought.
While this means you’ll have to share the pot, the odds become more favourable each ticket you buy.
Probability pro David Hodge said the key to playing the Euromillions is to pick numbers that other players will not.
That’s because, statistically, each number has an equal chance of being drawn, so there is no such thing as a “lucky” number.
He tells Sun money: “Any prize could be theoretically shared, so you will want to be the only one who wins if you do win.
“So that means you need your numbers not to be other people’s numbers. That means avoiding number patterns.”
Picking “boring numbers” – those which do not stand out in any way – is a good tactic, he said.
These are numbers that have been drawn out an average number of times in the Euromillions draws.
So 37, 24, and 13, which has been drawn a mediocre 91 times, could be a good option, as well as 32, which has been drawn 90 times.
“Pick the ones that look boring and that people won’t be interested in,” David adds.
Likewise, don’t pick “overdue” numbers – which are the numbers drawn the least number of times in Euromillions games.
David says picking these numbers is a common tactic players follow.
Again, that means that if you win, there’s a greater chance of splitting your winnings with other people.
“People might look for numbers that haven’t come up very often, because they think they’re due to come up soon,” said David.
“This is nonsense, because past numbers have no effect on what’s going to happen in the future.”
You might be tempted to pick “weird” number combinations thinking that no one else will.
That’s sequences like:
But picking “weird” combinations is a surprisingly common tactic, says David.
“If you think something is a weird combination, it’s likely that other people will think it’s weird too, and will likely pick that combination too.
“That’s because your brain holds onto anything that fits some kind of pattern.”
The key is to avoid number patterns, he says.
What better way of avoiding number patterns than to pick a lucky dip?
This is when the numbers are randomly selected for you by a computer when you buy a ticket at the till.
David says: “Humans are notoriously bad at picking random numbers.
“So it’s likely that your attempt at picking five truly random numbers will probably fail.
“The key is not to be biased towards any number.”
A lottery syndicate is when a group of people put money into a pot for lottery tickets.
There will be one person in charge – called the syndicate manager – who is in charge of buying tickets and sharing out any winnings out among the group.
The syndicate manager will need to register the group with the National Lottery and list themselves as the person in charge.
Playing with a group could be a good way of boosting your chances of winning, as Simon, from The National Lottery operator Allwyn UK, explains.
He says: “If you join a syndicate of 10 people, then there’s 10 tickets and 10 chances of winning, so there’s clearly a greater chance of winning compared to if you just bought your own ticket.
Simon advises players in a syndicate to draw up a list of terms and conditions that they all must agree to and sign.
He adds: “If there’s any confusion or complications down the line, then you can refer back to the agreement and then everyone knows where they stand.
Of course, the biggest downside to a syndicate is that you will have to split the pot among the whole group equally.

So if you played in a group of 10 people and you won the £131million jackpot, each person would walk away with £13.1 million.
Of course, that’s still big winnings to walk away with, but it’s certainly something to consider.

Malta’s Lotto And Quaterno Just Got A Revamp – Lovin Malta

By

Probably every person of a certain age in Malta has played the Lotto at least once in their life. It’s a century old tradition and part of the local fibre that exists in every town on the island. The lotto scene has grown quite a bit throughout the ages.
This week as National Lottery plc took over from Maltco, the game of Lotto will
experience a major revamp.
Malta’s Lotto and the Lotto Quaterno game just got better – so here’s what to
expect in one of the most popular classical lottery games available.

Tune in every Tuesday and Saturday to enter the chance of winning various fixed prizes. Pick your favourite numbers from 1 to 90 and your preferred game combinations. Five numbers are drawn live on TV at 8:30pm giving you an opportunity to win depending on your preferences.
Pick the first number drawn, commonly know as PRIMA or correctly predict two or three of the five numbers drawn, referred to in the market as AMBO or TERNO respectively.

Prima –> Win €70X the stake when correctly matching the 1st number drawn
Ambo –> Win €250X the stake when correctly matching 2 numbers
Terno –>Win €4,000X the stake when matching 3 numbers
Terno-Ambo –>  Win 40% or 60% of the winnings when matching 3 or 2 numbers out of the 5 numbers
National Lottery has introduced a NO CAPPING policy for Lotto, thereby ensuring that players take home 100% of their winnings. Moreover, with a better payout structure and an additional lotto draw every week, trying your luck and winning big has never been easier.

The new Lotto Quaterno game provides the possibility of winning the fixed mega jackpot of €500,000 per draw. Lotto Quaterno is won when you manage to correctly predict four of the five numbers drawn.
Playing Malta’s most popular Lotto game and selecting Prima, Ambo, Terno or Terno-Ambo game types is super simple. Starting with a minimum stake of €0.50 for all games except Lotto Quaterno is also very affordable.
Each Lotto Quaterno game ticket costs €2 for a chance to win the mega fixed jackpot of €500,000. You can also increase the chance of winning by selecting a full range of 20 numbers or play 60 consecutive draws for convenience with the new Lotto game.
You also have the chance to either select your own numbers or try your luck by generating random numbers, using the Quick Pick feature.
National Lottery will kick off this new age in Malta’s Lotto tomorrow Saturday 9th July at 8.30pm. Tune in to TVM after the evening news and make sure you have your Lotto tickets in hand.

“A Silver Spring man went to put gas in his car during a round of driving for a food delivery app and decided to try his luck playing scratch-offs. He ended up buying $46 worth, and one was a winner for $100,000.
He got his gas and tickets at the Shell station at 4101 Aspen Hill Road in Rockville. The Montgomery County native enjoys other Maryland Lottery games, including Pick 3 and Pick 4, but he is especially fond of crossword-themed scratch-off games. His win came on the $10 ticket $100,000 Crossword 9th Edition.
Before he got back to delivering food, he took a little break, sat in his car, and scratched his tickets. He said that he thought he was going to pass out after his scratching revealing one of the tickets to be a big winner. Between puzzles two and three on the winning ticket, he was able to match 10 words for the $100,000 top-prize.
Immediately after learning of his big win, he called family and friends to share the news. He says he’s going to use his winnings to square his finances and put the rest in savings. When he’s not working, he enjoys spending time outdoors, hiking.”

A lottery numbers generator randomly picks numbers, tailored to a specific lottery game. Depending on the game, the lottery numbers generator outputs a truly random string of numbers, within the parameters of a chosen game.
Different lottery games use varying structures. Powerball, for example, tasks the player with choosing five numbers from 1 through 69, and one bonus number from 1 to 26. Pick 3, on the other hand, draws three numbers from 1 through 10.
The output of a lottery numbers generator gives the player a completely random string of numbers that can be used to enter a given lottery.
Using a lottery number generator gives players access to a sequence of true random lottery numbers, each with an equal chance of matching the numbers drawn by the lottery. Lottery number generators produce instant outputs, which saves time and gives players unlimited unbiased strings of numbers. These generated lottery numbers can be used once, or played as part of a lottery subscription over time. When players don’t have their own lucky numbers for the lottery, this is a great option.
Powerball functions as one of the two biggest national lotteries available to US lottery players. The Powerball lottery operates in 45 US states, as well as Washington DC, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands.
Since its inception in April 1992, Powerball has produced some of the biggest lottery jackpots in US history.  A January 2016 Powerball drawing resulted in a $1.586 billion total payout, split among three tickets.
That $1.586 billion jackpot stands as the world’s largest-ever lottery payout. All of the top five Powerball jackpots of all time paid out at least $590 million.
Powerball drawings commence twice a week. Five numbers are randomly selected from numbers 1 through 69, and a separate Powerball red number is drawn from numbers 1 through 26.
To win the Powerball grand prize, players much correctly select all five standard white numbers, plus the red Powerball number. The odds of selecting all six numbers correctly are 1 in 292,201,338. By using our Powerball lottery number generator, you can choose your five numbers plus the red Powerball number.
Along with Powerball, Mega Millions stands as one of two major multi-state lotteries in the US. Mega Millions is available in 45 states, Washington DC, and the US Virgin Islands.
Like Powerball, the Mega Millions jackpots represent some of the biggest lottery payouts ever awarded. The largest jackpot in the history of Mega Millions paid $1.537 million to a single winner, stemming from an October 2018 drawing.
Mega Millions conducts two drawings per week. Each week that goes by without a jackpot winner escalates the grand prize.
Mega Millions draws five white balls from one machine, with the machine containing one ball for each number 1 through 70. A separate machine contains gold “bonus” balls, marked with numbers 1 through 25.
To win the Mega Millions grand prize, players must correctly pick all five white ball numbers correctly, as well as the gold bonus number. The probability of winning the Mega Millions grand prize is 1 in 302,575,350. Our Mega Millions lottery number generator will provide the five white ball numbers and the gold ball bonus number.
SuperLotto Plus offers a California-only drawing game that plays much like Powerball and Mega Millions. Unlike those national lotteries, however, SuperLotto Plus tickets can only be purchased within California.
To win the grand prize jackpot, players must correctly pick the five standard numbers, as well as the “Mega Ball” bonus number. Standard picks come from numbers 1 through 47, while the bonus ball is drawn from numbers 1 through 27.
SuperLotto Plus functions as part of the California State Lottery. The largest jackpot paid out in the history of SuperLotto Plus took place in 2002, with three different tickets splitting the $193 million grand prize.
Pick 3 and Pick 4 lotteries are offered in several US states, including the New York online lottery, usually functioning as daily drawing games. Both of these games challenge the player to correctly pick randomly drawn numbers from ten balls, with one ball for each number zero through nine.
To win the biggest prize, known as “straight,” players must pick the numbers in the exact order dictated by the drawing. Picking all correct numbers, but not in the correct order, results in a “box” win, which doesn’t payout as well as the “straight” win.
Pick 3 and Pick 4 games generally play with set jackpot amounts, and not progressive escalating grand prizes.
A lottery numbers generator can produce outputs giving a player multiple lines at the same time. The generators on this page are relatively simple. But our Mega Millions lottery numbers generator produces a line of six random numbers, including numbers for the standard picks, as well as the gold “bonus” ball. And, you can create up to nine lines of lottery numbers at the same time. Each pick is independently and randomly produced and could be used to make nine unique entries into the Mega Millions lottery.

Historians point to the origins of lotteries in the US going as far back as the early 1700s. Newspaper ads from the era advertised hundreds of different lotteries.
The first modern-era lottery in the US was introduced by Puerto Rico in 1934. New Hampshire became the first US state to operate a lottery in 1964.
All forms of gambling involving electronic transmissions were outlawed by the 1961 Wire Act. That federal mandate was reversed, however, by a 2011 opinion issued by the US Department of Justice.
That reversal of opinion set the scene to allow US states to offer online lottery purchases. Illinois became the first state to offer online lottery, doing so in 2011. Since then, more states have joined, including the Arizona online lottery.
State lotteries in the US operate independently from one another. All state lotteries function as government programs and, as such, operate as extensions of state-level governments.
National lotteries like Mega Millions and Powerball function as consortiums among participating states. Powerball is operated by the Multi-State Lottery Association (MUSL), while Mega Millions functions as a collaboration among 12 different state lotteries.
Both in-state and national lottery games function as official products of US state governments. As such, players can participate in these games with the assurance that the games operate fairly.
Using a lottery numbers generator provides a safe way to pick truly random numbers, with unbiased and unique outputs for each use. We can’t promise a win, but the numbers are random and safe to use.
Yes. The US Department of Justice issued an opinion on the Wire Act in 2011, which ruled that the electronic gambling transmissions outlawed by the Wire Act only related to sports betting.
The reversal of opinion allows states to offer online purchases for both in-state lotteries, as well as national lotteries like Powerball and Mega Millions. Illinois became the first state to operate an online lottery, beginning in 2011.
Yes. Lottery number generators, like the one available at Bonus.com, are legal to use for picking lottery numbers. There are no laws in place banning the use of lottery number generators.
Different random number generators (RNG) use different methods to produce outputs. A truly random RNG will use unpredictable input, like atmospheric noise, mouse movements, or subatomic activity, to produce truly random numbers.
Other RNG programs use complex computer algorithms to produce “pseudorandom” numbers. These numbers are not “truly” random, but produce a level of randomness indistinguishable to humans from “truly” random numbers.
Yes. The Bonus.com lottery number generator, for instance, allows you to produce random outputs for up to nine lines of lottery numbers at the same time.
State lotteries in the US operate as government programs, with sales from lottery purchased designated to fund various causes and programs.
Multi-state lotteries like Powerball and Mega Millions operate through consortiums of different state lotteries in the US.
18 in most states. The minimum purchase age for state lotteries, as well as national lotteries like Mega Millions and Powerball, is 18 in most states.
One notable exception is Louisiana, in which players must be 21 or older to purchase a lottery ticket legally.
Yes. Lottery winnings are considered income and taxed at the same federal and state tax rates that would apply to income earnings of the same amount.
