20-year old Noel Sciberras from Birkirkara admitted in Court with committing a hold-up at a lotto office in Triq Dun Filippu Borg, Birkirkara. He was imprisoned for three years.
Sciberras had entered the lotto office on Friday, armed with a knife and requested money from a 61-year old female cashier.
The Police had said in a statement on the case, that the thief was wearing a hood, armed with a knife and ordered the cashier to empty the cash register. He ran away with cash money.
No one was hurt during the hold-up which led police to identify and arrest Sciberras.
He also admitted before Magistrate Rachel Montebello with carrying a knife in public without a permit, breached a probation order and became a recidivist. He was fined €116 for carrying the knife and ordered to pay the money back to the victim.
