Hudson Valley Gateway Chamber Launches “Holiday Bingo” to Drive Local Shopping Across Our Communities – River Journal Online

From now until early Januarythe Hudson Valley Gateway Chamber of Commerce (HVGCC) is sponsoring Holiday Bingo, a free, community-wide shop-local campaign happening now across our communities.
Holiday Bingo is designed to make supporting local businesses feel effortlessly fun during the busiest shopping season of the year. Residents can pick up a Bingo card at participating businesses, through the Chamber, or online, then complete the simple prompts listed on each square. Prompts may include buying a holiday gift at a local shop, grabbing a coffee or a snack, making a donation to a community nonprofit, or attending a seasonal event in town.
As participants complete actions, they’ll receive a stamp on their card from the business tied to that square. If a square is a virtual action (such as an online donation or social media prompt), participants can submit a screenshot or photo showing the completed action as proof, along with their card. Once a participant gets four in a row (across, down, or diagonal), they can submit their card to the Chamber by dropping it off, mailing it in, or emailing a photo/scan to enter their town’s raffle.
“Holiday Bingo is all about keeping holiday spending local and turning everyday errands into something a little more festive,” said Carole Voisey, Executive Director of the Hudson Valley Gateway Chamber of Commerce. “A purchase at a small business has so much more impact than buying from a giant corporation. Every completed bingo square represents a real purchase and real support for our small businesses and nonprofits. It’s purchasing with purpose.”
