Since there was no winning over the weekend’s drawing, the Powerball jackpot rose from $750 million to $800 million, while the Mega Millions jackpot went from $977 million to $1.1 billion. FOX 5 NY’s Kendall Green spoke to New Yorkers trying their luck for the big prizes.
NEW JERSEY – A lottery player in New Jersey matched all five white balls and the gold Mega Ball on Tuesday night to win the $90 million Mega Millions jackpot. 
What we know:
The winning numbers were 17, 25, 26, 53 and 60. The Gold Mega Ball was 16. The cash value of the prize is $41.9 million.
The winning ticket was sold at Garden State News, 4024 Bergenline Ave. in Union City.

Just last month, a single Mega Millions ticket purchased in Newnan, Georgia, matched all six numbers drawn to win a jackpot worth an estimated $980 million.

Mega Millions tickets are sold in 45 states, Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The North Carolina Education Lottery has announced that Powerball just crossed a big milestone: Wednesday’s $775 million prize represents the eighth largest jackpot in the history of the game.
A winner in the Wednesday, December 3, 2025 drawing could claim the jackpot as a $775 million annuity or $362.5 million in cash.
“Any time you talk about one of the 10 biggest Powerball jackpots, you know it’s significant,” said Mark Michalko, chief executive officer of the N.C. Education Lottery. “What a moment that would be for some lucky North Carolinian to take that prize home tonight.”
Monday’s Powerball drawing saw a lucky North Carolinian match four white balls and the red Powerball to win $50,000. The winning $2 ticket was purchased at J & J Food Mart on South Broad Street in Winston-Salem.
The total number of winning tickets in Monday’s drawing was 22,779. It is estimated that $14.7 million has been raised for education on the current Powerball run, noted N.C. Education Lottery.
Wednesday’s jackpot is the second-largest Powerball prize offered this year, trailing only the $1.7 billion jackpot won Sept. 6 in Missouri and Texas.

A lot of money, something like $775 million, is up for grabs.
In the last few days, the Powerball jackpot has increased by $35 million, making it one of the top 10 biggest prizes in history.
The last time a jackpot of a similar magnitude was won was in September, when players in Missouri and Texas split the $1.787 billion jackpot, the second-largest prize ever.
Its estimated cash value now stands at $362.5 million (before taxes), which can be paid out as a one-time, cash lump sum, or in annuity payments over 29 years. Either way, a player, or players are in for one sweet Christmas if the prize is won.
Here’s when the next Powerball drawing will be, if you’re feeling lucky.
The next drawing will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 3, at 10:59 p.m. ET.
Playing the Powerball is simple:
