One lucky player has won the Euromillions jackpot for a life-changing sum of £157 million.
The ticketholder, from France, can claim £157 million (or 179 million euros) after they correctly selected the five winning numbers and two lucky stars. It remains unknown who won the lottery prize, or if they have yet come forward to collect the jackpot.
The winning combination was revealed by The National Lottery last night as: 5, 29, 33, 39, and 42. The Lucky Stars were: 3, and 9.
Already, the National Lottery has announced the £14 million jackpot for next Tuesday and a festive £105 million EuroMillions prize for next Friday.
Simon Horne from the National Lottery said: “Congratulations to the lucky French ticket holder who banked last night’s jackpot. Closer to home, one UK player won £1M in the UK Millionaire Maker, and we look forward to their claim.
“On Friday next week (5th) there is a special festive £105M EuroMillions jackpot up for grabs. Players across the UK could add even more sparkle to Christmas if they won at the start of December.”
The £157 million prize was one of the largest EuroMillions jackpots of the year so far, but the largest EuroMillions win ever in the UK stands at £195 million jackpot. Only 19 UK players have won prizes of more than £100m in its history.
When people win the lottery, a 180-day countdown starts from the day the numbers are drawn to claim their prize. After that time, all unclaimed money – and any interest earned – goes to the National Lottery Good Causes fund.
Patrick Lisoire, consumer communications manager at National Lottery operator Allwyn, told The Independent that people with paper tickets are less likely to claim their wins than online players.
He said: “It’s retail tickets that may go unclaimed because you buy a paper ticket, if you misplace it, if you don’t get around to checking it in time, although it is nearly 6 months, those tickets could expire.”
Online players are reminded repeatedly to check their login via phone and email, so people are more likely to claim them.

Three $100,000 prizes were either won or claimed during Black Friday, according to the Massachusetts State Lottery website.
One of the winning tickets came from the game, “Mass Cash.”
The game’s ticket was sold at Rt. 12 Variety in Oxford for $1.
The “Mass Cash” drawing was held on Nov. 28 and the winning numbers were 6, 10, 12, 28 and 33.
Two more $100,000 prizes were claimed on Friday from the scratch ticket game, “$100,000 Max Winnings.”
One of the tickets was sold in Braintree at Honey Farms Market Braintree while another was sold at Delicias Market 2 Corporation in East Boston. Both tickets were sold for $10.
The top prize for this game is $100,000. There is a 1 in 125,000 chance of winning the highest amount. Eighty of these top prize tickets have been sent out, 26 have been claimed, leaving 54 remaining.
Overall, at least 670 tickets worth $600 or more were won or claimed in Massachusetts on Friday, including 20 in Springfield, 24 in Worcester and 54 in Boston.
The largest lottery prize won so far this year was worth $1 million a year for life, from a winning “Lifetime Millions” scratch ticket sold in Springfield and claimed in July.

While the pair did meet on a night out, it wasn’t your typical evening on the town. Jamie won the best prize up for grabs during a night at the bingo, and it wasn’t a standard €50 hamper! Instead, he found the love of his life.
Niamh and Jamie first met at a Bingo Loco event eight years ago. The couple built up a firm friendship before falling for each other, with Niamh sharing on their anniversary in 2025: ‘I’m so happy you picked up my card at Bingo Loco and changed your plans to come with us to Metropolis Festival. I still remember that warm, fuzzy, excited feeling like it was yesterday.’
Niamh and Jamie dated for several years before he got down on one knee. They announced their engagement at the end of 2022 when Jamie popped the question in the most romantic way, much to Niamh’s surprise.
The influencer was gearing up to go Christmas shopping after taking a quick winter walk in Merrion Square Park, but her soon-to-be fiancé had other ideas.
During the stroll, Niamh noticed there was a card stuck to one of the trees with her name on it. On the front it said, ‘Love you’ and inside it was written: ‘Turn around.’ In total shock, she turned to see Jamie on one knee.
As if the couple didn’t have enough to plan with a wedding on the horizon, they squeezed another life milestone in, buying their first home together.
They moved into their new house at the beginning of August 2024, with Niamh sharing clips of the happy day on social media.

‘I can’t stop crying! Is this real life,’ Niamh told her followers, accompanied by a clip showing herself and Jamie walking into their new home and standing in the kitchen in shock.
More clips showed the pair popping a bottle of champagne and hugging each other in their very own front garden. Niamh appeared overwhelmed with happiness as she stood in the empty house, alongside her soon-to-be hubby and their dog Abigail.
Niamh and Jamie balanced the mammoth task of decorating their new house and planning their wedding.
Niamh stayed on top of all of the planning, having secured her dream dress nice and early. She flew over to New York City to pick up her perfect gown, which she discovered when she first got engaged.
She took to social media to share the process of picking up the dress. She wrote: ‘Guess who said yes to the dress. I stumbled upon this dress the morning after I got engaged. Through all the legal stuff I didn’t know when we would be getting married but this dress never ever left my mind.’
‘I am so happy I found my dress of dreams, as I genuinely had zero clue what I would even like. I feel like this dress was meant to find it me, it’s so perfect, a lil evolution in itself!’ she explained. ‘The excitement, it’s all getting very real!’

The fitness influencer told her followers: ‘Last weekend marked one year of our marriage. Nothing could have prepared us for the journey that was ahead.’
‘On day three of our wedding, Jamie became seriously unwell. What was meant to be a minimoon in Rome turned into ten days in hospital. We returned home, where Jamie had some scans and conversations about next steps.
Just two weeks before Christmas, Jamie underwent major surgery where doctors discovered a cancerous tumour. Our world shattered in an instant, but we stayed strong. Jamie bravely faced 10 rounds of chemotherapy.’

‘There were ups and downs along the way, but nothing could have prepared us for what followed after his 10th session. He was rushed into hospital by ambulance, where he developed pneumonia that turned sepsis, just hours after his chemotherapy,’ Niamh continued.
‘It was scary and really not good. Not long after, he was rushed again to hospital with unbearable pain. We were given the devastating news the cancer had returned.
My world feels broken, my blood still runs cold, but I know this: my husband is a fighter. We will not give up.’

On November 29, Niamh posted the awful update that Jamie had passed away.
Alongside a video of them together, Niamh wrote: ‘The unimaginable has happened. Our worst nightmare. My beautiful husband has been taken from us.
‘The light of my life. I was the luckiest to be loved and adored by you Jamie. I love you endlessly, not just now, but eternally. This video for me shows our unconditional love, fun and laughter. I’m broken.’
Messages of condolence poured in, with Louise Cooney among the first to say she was heartbroken at the loss of such a special man.
‘We love you both so much. He is such a loss. Heartbroken. Can’t believe it. I love you so much,’ Louise penned while Pippa O’Connor wrote: ‘There are no words. You have an army of love around you.’
