Portadown v Cliftonville Match Preview | Sports Direct Premiership Matchday Eighteen – Portadown Football Club

Portadown are back in Sports Direct Premiership action this afternoon when we host Cliftonville at Shamrock Park, kick off 3pm.
Portadown come into the game off the back of  a 2-1 win over Carrick Rangers last Saturday thanks to goals from Ben Wylie and Eamon Fyfe, a result which moved the Ports up to 9th place in the Sports Direct Premiership, only 2 points behind our visitors. Cliftonville have had a great week, reaching the final of the County Antrim Shield on Tuesday evening by way of a 4-1 win over Ballymena United at the Showgrounds while in league matters it was a 1-0 win over Coleraine at Solitude last weekend.
Portadown and Cliftonville met earlier this season at Solitude with Niall Currie’s side winning 2-1 thanks to a goals from Eamon Fyfe and James Teelan, the Ports first victory at Solitude since January 2014.
Cliftonville come to Shamrock Park as a team in form, unbeaten in four Premiership games (5 games in total) and keeping four consecutive clean sheets. Away from Solitude this season they’ve won two of their five league games, but a stat worth noting is Jim Magilton’s men have only four first-half goals all season, the fewest in the league, but a positive for the reds is if they score first they win, they’ve won all five league games in which they’ve scored first this season.
Portadown have a good recent record against Cliftonville, winning the last two home meetings 2-0 and unbeaten in four league games overall (3 wins, 1 draw). Eamon Fyfe has scored in the last two meetings between the sides and has three goals in his last four league appearances as well.
On the game Portadown manager, Niall Currie commented
We know Cliftonville are in a rich vein of form, but I feel we have been playing quite well too and if we are at our levels and at Shamrock Park, we can compete with anyone.

Golden Knights' Akira Schmid: Tagged with loss – CBS Sports

If not listed, please contact your TV provider.
Schmid stopped 15 of 18 shots in Friday’s 4-1 loss to Montreal.
Schmid was unable to make an impact between the pipes Friday, and this outing means he’s now winless over his last three games. He owns a 3.21 GAA and an .865 save percentage over that stretch. Despite the recent woes, Schmid should remain as the No. 1 goaltender for the Golden Knights as long as Adin Hill (lower body) remains out.
