Designer Bag Bingo brings in $55K – The Cullman Tribune

CULLMAN, Ala. – United Way of Cullman County raised over $55,000 at its annual Designer Bag Bingo event at Cotton Creek Warehouse on Thursday, Nov. 13.

United Way Executive Director Stephanie Childers said there were 610 bingo players and around 80 volunteers at the event.

“What a night. Our Designer Bag Bingo was the biggest one yet, and Cullman absolutely showed out,” Childers said. “The room was packed, the energy was high and they were fighting hard for that grand prize valued at over $5,000.”

She said the United Way was overwhelmed with gratitude for the outpouring of support from the community.

“I can’t say enough about the incredible people who made this happen,” Childers said. “Our volunteers, table hosts and Board of Directors showed up in a big way to keep things running smoothly and make the night unforgettable. It truly takes a village, and we are so grateful for ours.”

Childers thanked presenting sponsor AmFirst, top community sponsor Publix, the UPS store for sponsoring all of the printed items and Pepsi for being the drink sponsor.

“Events like this remind me just how special this community is,” she said. “Thank you, Cullman, for supporting United Way and the work we do every single day. This was our best bingo yet — and it’s all because of you.”
