EuroMillions players around the country have been urged to check their tickets, after an Irish player won nearly €300,000.
The player, who the National Lottery has said hails from Cork, scooped an astonishing €294,048 during Friday’s draw (November 14) after matching five numbers and a lucky star.
The winning EuroMillions numbers on Friday were: 9, 26, 27, 45, 48, and the Lucky Stars were 8 and 9.
The winning ticket was purchased at Sweeney’s Daybreak in Kiltegan Park, Rochestown, Co Cork, on the day of the draw, with the National Lottery urging people to check their tickets.
‘A EuroMillions player in Cork is certain to be celebrating today after matching five numbers and one lucky star in Friday night’s main EuroMillions draw to win an incredible €294,048,’ National Lottery spokesperson Darragh O’Dwyer said.
‘While more 55,000 players won prizes across the EuroMillions and EuroMillions Plus draws, the Cork player earned themselves the title as the biggest winner of the night in Ireland. Today, we are encouraging all our players in Cork to check their tickets very carefully and to contact our Prize Claims team as soon as possible.’
The winner is advised to sign the back of their ticket, and keep it safe. From there, they should contact the National Lottery Prize Claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie, where arrangements will be made for them to head to Lotto HQ to collect their windfall.
The win comes after an online player from Dublin won a huge €30,000 on Tuesday’s draw.
