GASTONIA, N.C. (WBTV) – A Gaston County man hit a $114,614 lottery jackpot while stopping for soda at a local convenience store last week.
Albert Clinton Jr. bought his lucky $2 Bingo Bucks ticket at the S’Mart on Bessemer City Road in Gastonia.
“We were just there to pick up some Shirley Temple 7-Ups,” Clinton joked.
At the time Clinton bought his ticket, the jackpot was $573,070, and because he purchased a $2 voucher, he received 20% of that amount.
“It was an unreal feeling,” Clinton said.
Clinton claimed his prize at lottery headquarters on Thursday, Nov. 13, and after taxes, took home $82,236.
