American Legion Post 209 Commander Brian Avery said there will be “great prizes” given out at Jukebox Bingo.
American Legion Post 209 Commander Brian Avery said there will be “great prizes” given out at Jukebox Bingo.
BRISTOL — American Legion Post 209’s Jukebox Bingo is back at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, but strong turnout is needed to keep it going.
The event, run by Primetime Entertainment, will be held Saturday, Dec. 6 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church at 355 Camp St., with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. Proceeds support the charitable efforts of American Legion Post 209.
Participants will check off squares as different songs are played. The songs will include a variety of genres. American Legion Post 209 Commander Brian Avery said there will be “great prizes” given out, which are more valuable than the cost of the entry fee.
“This is a big fundraiser for American Legion Post 209, which allows us to continue to help the veterans in Bristol and surrounding communities,” Avery said.
Avery described Jukebox Bingo as an affordable event that offers “great family fun.” However, Avery said good turnout is needed.
“We are hoping for a big crowd,” he said. “Unfortunately, due to the increase in renting the space out at the church and the increase in prices on the items that we purchase, if we do not have a minimum of 70 to 80 people show up for this event, this will be the last time the Post will be doing jukebox bingo for the near future.”
He said it will be a fun night, regardless of what happens in the future.
“It is a very popular event that the community loves,” he said. “And we have regular people that come to all our Jukebox Bingo events, but we need more. We are asking all Post 209 members and anybody that has been a part of the Jukebox Bingo in the past to please attend this Jukebox Bingo. We’re looking forward to a fun, family night.”
The price is $15 per card or $10 for children 12 and younger. Tickets are available at the door. People can also purchase tickets by calling Post 209 members Bruce Barton at 860-810-8168 or Bob Getz at 860-919-0305 or Avery at 860-384-5626.
