The ticket was bought at a Kwik Star convenience store in Norwalk, Iowa, for the November 11 draw.
The winning numbers were 10-13-40-42-46 and Mega Ball 1.
It matched all the first five numbers but not the Mega Ball.
This is the first big win since Mega Millions revamped the lottery game in April.

And it was just one number away from scooping the estimated $965million jackpot.
The winner has not yet claimed the prize, according to the Iowa Lottery.
The Mega Millions prize in Iowa must be claimed within 180 days by going to the Iowa Lottery’s main office in Clive.
The rolling jackpot is the game’s largest since December 2024.

The Norwalk ticket was one of three in the country to claim a prize of $3million or more from the drawing.
Another $3 million was won from a ticket sold in New York and $5 million was won in Arizona.
Kwik Star will receive $3,000 from the Iowa Lottery for selling the winning ticket.
Meanwhile, a lucky winner scooped the largest-ever jackpot in the history of the Georgia lottery this week.
A single Mega Millions ticket is worth a whopping $980million as it matched all six numbers drawn on Friday night.
The winning ticket was purchased in Newnan, but its owner has not been identified.
Friday’s numbers were: 1-8-22-23-57 and the Mega Ball was 7.
Publix #1816, at 4000 N. Highway 29 in Newnan, sold the lucky Quik Pik ticket.
