(Baton Rouge, LA) Fans of lottery games in Louisiana, check your tickets, we have a new multi-millionaire in the state. The Louisiana Lottery has confirmed that a lottery ticket sold for one of Saturday's drawings scored a jackpot prize of $3.9 million.
We also know where that huge lottery winner was sold in the state. But first, let's bring you up to speed on the latest drawing from the Louisiana Lottery.

The multi-state lottery game Powerball held one of its three weekly drawings last night. Louisiana is one of 45 states, along with Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, that participate in Powerball drawings.
Powerball has been available in Louisiana since 1995, and the state's lottery players have fared well with the game. The state has produced 17 different jackpot winners. The largest payout on a state-sold ticket happened in 2017 when a ticket sold in Eunice matched all the numbers needed to claim a top prize of $191.1 million.
Oddly enough, the other multi-state lottery game that is played in Louisiana, Mega Millions, has never produced a jackpot winner in the state. I guess that could happen tonight since we do have a Mega Millions drawing. By the way the Mega Millions estimated top prize tonight is $70 million.
But last night, the focus was on Powerball and the chance to win $655 million for the annuitized jackpot or $303.8 million for the cash payout. Here is how that Powerball drawing unfolded.
Our sources at Powerball confirmed that no tickets sold across the game's footprint matched the numbers needed to win the jackpot prize. There was a Match 5 Million winner sold in Illinois. A "Match 5 Million" refers to the million-dollar prize a ticket earns by matching all of the white balls but missing the red Powerball's number.
In reviewing the Louisiana Lottery winner's data from Monday's Powerball drawing, it appears that approximately 5,000 tickets, possibly a little less than that, were winners, which means those tickets at least earned their cost back for the player.
The majority of Powerball wins in Louisiana were Powerball matches that returned $4 on a $2 ticket. The second largest payout category was Powerball with Power Play, which returned $8 to players who purchased that scenario.
If you'd like to check your Powerball numbers, here they are for November 24, 2025.

If you have matching numbers on your ticket, you'll want to verify that ticket via the Louisiana Lottery Winner's Portal at the official website. You can also get prize redemption information there.
The next Powerball drawing will be Wednesday night for an estimated annuitized jackpot of $681 million. If you win and take the cash payout, you're looking at $315.7 million. Lotto from the Louisiana Lottery will also draw on Wednesday; the top prize in that game is $500,000 after Saturday's jackpot win.
If you did not see, Lotto from the Louisiana Lottery got a jackpot winner after month and months of building the jackpot. The Lotto top prize was confirmed to be $3,905,837.00. The winning ticket was purchased in Metairie at the One Stop Shop on Airline Drive.
As of now, the winner has not come forward to claim their prize. Other unclaimed lottery wins include three $50,000 Powerball winners, a $223,000 Easy 5 winner, and a Louisiana Jackpot winner valued at $154,875. The ticket with the shortest amount of time remaining still has 98 days to be claimed, so there's no huge rush.
