A ticket with all six numbers in Friday evening’s multi-state Mega Millions lottery draw was sold in Georgia with the estimated jackpot of $980 million, the 14th-largest lottery jackpot in U.S. history.
The numbers drawn Friday were 1, 8, 11, 12, 57 and the Mega number was 7. The drawing was the 40th since the last time a ticket with all six numbers was sold.
The owner of the ticket has the option of receiving $980 million in 30 graduated annual installments or a lump sum cash payment of $452.2 million, according to the Mega Millions Consortium, which conducts the game.
Both figures are subject to federal taxes.

A ticket with five numbers, but missing the Mega number, was sold in Michigan and is worth $3 million.
The odds of matching all five numbers and the Mega number is 1 in 290,472,336. The overall chance of winning a prize is 1 in 23.
The jackpot was the eighth-largest in the history of the Mega Millions game, which began in 1996 as The Big Game and was given the new name Mega Millions in 2002.
There have been six Powerball drawings with larger jackpots, according to the Multi-State Lottery Association, which conducts the Powerball game
The Mega Millions game is played in 45 states, the District of Columbia and U.S. Virgin Islands.
The jackpot for Tuesday’s drawing will be $50 million.
