There were three lucky winners recently in New York state who scored $50,000 with third-prize Powerball tickets.
The New York Lottery announced the three winning tickets for the Sept. 25 drawing matched four white balls and the red Powerball. One of the winning tickets was sold in New York City — at Venus Wines and Spirits, located at 494 Lorimer St., in Brooklyn.
The other two winning tickets were sold throughout the rest of the state. A ticket each was sold at Walmart, located at 161 Centereach Mall in Centereach, and at Williston Park Dairy, located at 675 Willis Ave., in Williston Park.
Winning numbers for this Powerball drawing are white balls 2, 26, 45, 46, 52 and red Powerball 21.
The winning numbers for the Powerball game are drawn from a field of one to 69. The Powerball number is drawn from a separate field of one to 26. In order to win the jackpot, players must match all five white balls in any order and the red Powerball number.
Powerball tickets can be purchased at any New York Lottery retailer for $2, seven days a week. The deadline for purchasing a ticket is 10 p.m. on draw nights.
Drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 11 p.m., and the New York Lottery urges players to buy tickets early to avoid last-minute lines.
