One fortunate Queens resident recently claimed a $1 million top prize in the New York Lottery’s Cashword Bonus scratch-off game, according to the New York Lottery.
Yoselyn Casia-Garcia took home a single lump sum payment of $416,327 after required withholdings.
The winning scratcher was purchased at the Gold Bright IDA located at 65-10 Roosevelt Ave. in Woodside, Queens.
Casia-Garcia scratched at least three complete words to claim the prize.
As of this writing there was one $1 million top prize remaining in the $1,000,000 Cashword Bonus game.
Players may check the status of any New York Lottery scratch-off by downloading the Game Report at nylottery.ny.gov.
New York’s scratch-off games generated $4,373,546,208 in total sales during fiscal year 2023-2024. School districts across the five boroughs received $1,193,465,995 in Lottery Aid to Education funds during the same period.
