A new survey from Talker Research, The Jersey Census, provides a first-of-its-kind look at youth club sports in the U.S., examining what motivates young athletes, how much time and money families invest, and the most popular sports by region. The study surveyed 2,000 athletes, 2,000 parents, and 150 club owners, revealing trends in participation, commitment, and long-term goals.
Brian Fleming, SVP and GM of Club Direct for BSN SPORTS, discusses the findings, including how families balance passion with pressure, and how clubs can better support the next generation of athletes. The research highlights the growth of youth sports into a $5 billion-plus industry and offers insights for parents, coaches, and communities invested in young athletes’ development.
