Mega Millions Jackpot Climbs to $800 Million After No Winner in Friday’s Halloween Drawing – Positively Osceola

Nov 2, 2025 | |
There’s a little magic in the air this weekend as the Mega Millions jackpot continues to soar, now reaching an estimated $800 million (or $371.7 million cash) ahead of the next drawing on Tuesday, November 4.
No ticket matched all six numbers drawn on Friday night — the white balls 2, 24, 52, 66, and 68, along with the gold Mega Ball 9 — keeping the jackpot rolling for another round.
It’s been nearly a decade since Mega Millions crowned a November jackpot winner. The last occurred in 2016, and only 16 jackpots have been won during this month since the game began in 2002. The largest of those November prizes reached $326 million, claimed in New York on November 4, 2014.
If the jackpot is won this Tuesday, it could mark one of the most memorable November payouts in Mega Millions history.
While no one hit the top prize on Halloween night, 557,912 players across the country did take home winnings across all prize tiers, totaling nearly $10.9 million. Six tickets matched four white balls plus the Mega Ball, earning the game’s third-tier prize.
Three players — in Illinois, Ohio, and Pennsylvania — used the 2X multiplier to win $20,000 each.
Three others — in California, New Hampshire, and Pennsylvania — used the 3X multiplier, claiming $30,000 each.
Due to California’s pari-mutuel payout system, all prizes in that state will vary from standard prize levels.
The last Mega Millions jackpot was hit in Virginia on June 27, worth $348 million. Since then, in 36 consecutive drawings, players have collected nearly 11.1 million prizes nationwide — with total winnings surpassing $261.8 million.
That includes 17 second-tier prizes worth $1 million or more across 10 states, with multipliers ranging from 2X to 5X, and 244 third-tier prizes between $20,000 and $100,000 across 38 different jurisdictions, including Florida, Georgia, New York, Pennsylvania, and Texas.
Before the June 27 Virginia win, other jackpots awarded in 2025 included:
$112 million in Ohio (April 18)
$349 million in Illinois (March 25)
$112 million in Arizona (January 17)
Since its launch in 2002, Mega Millions has made headlines with record-breaking payouts — including seven jackpots exceeding $1 billion, each in a different state. Florida currently holds the record, with a $1.602 billion jackpot hit on August 8, 2023.
Tickets are available in 45 states, Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands, for $5 each, including a randomly assigned multiplier. Half of all ticket proceeds remain in the state where the ticket was sold, funding local programs and retailer commissions.
Drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m. ET in Atlanta, Georgia. The odds of winning the jackpot stand at approximately 1 in 290,472,336, while the odds of winning any prize are 1 in 23.
With the jackpot now in rare territory and excitement growing across the country, all eyes will turn to Tuesday night’s drawing to see if a lucky player finally takes home the life-changing $800 million prize — or if the Mega Millions magic keeps the numbers climbing even higher.

Waitress receives a lottery ticket as a tip, wins R$50 million and sues coworkers who demanded a share of the prize – CPG Click Petróleo e Gás

A regular customer handed him a <strong>lottery ticket as a tip</strong>, a gesture that seemed common for those who used to play scratch cards. But what seemed like just another symbolic gift turned into a million-dollar prize. <strong>US$10 million, equivalent to approximately R$50 million</strong>. From then on, luck gave way to a sequence of <strong>processes, conflicts and dramatic events</strong> that marked its history.<br>The unexpected fortune made Tonda an instant celebrity, but also the target of <strong>legal disputes with colleagues, with the client itself and with the United States Internal Revenue Service</strong>Years later, she would vent by saying that the award “<strong><a href="https://en.clickpetroleoegas.com.br/Demolition-team-destroys-the-wrong-house-by-mistake-and-the-owner-only-finds-out-when-she-receives-a-call-asking-why-her-land-was-empty-btl96/">ruined your life</a></strong>".<br>At the time, Tonda was working a regular shift when <strong>Edward Seward</strong>, a regular customer, gave him the scratch-off ticket. <br>Broken cup, machine, or air conditioner? In the first ruling, Justice <strong>partially acknowledged the colleagues' request</strong>, understanding that, if the note was considered a tip, the amount should be divided. <br>However, Tonda resorted to <strong>State Supreme Court</strong>, which ended up deciding in his favor.<br>The court concluded that a <strong>lottery ticket does not qualify as a common tip</strong>, and that there was no concrete evidence of a formal division agreement. <br>So she was able to <strong>keep the prize in full</strong>.<br>Even with the victory, the episode left its mark: the waitress distanced herself from her former colleagues and began to face <strong>strong media attention</strong>, becoming a symbol of a rare case in which luck became a problem.<br>Himself <strong>Edward Seward</strong>, the customer who had given the ticket, filed a lawsuit against Tonda. <br>He stated that she <strong>promised to buy him a truck</strong> if he won and, by not complying, he would have violated a verbal agreement. <br>The court again ruled in favor of the waitress, recognizing that the note had been given as a tip and that <strong>there was no proof of contractual obligation</strong>.<br>This second legal victory reinforced the understanding that <strong>donating a lottery ticket transfers ownership to the recipient</strong>, making the new owner the only legitimate winner.<br>Soon after the award, Tonda decided <strong>transfer the money to a family business</strong> with the aim of avoiding taxes on donations and trying to better manage the gains. <br>The decision ended up creating a new headache: <strong>United States Internal Revenue Service (IRS)</strong> opened a lawsuit for <strong>fiscal fraud</strong>.<br>She was forced to pay <strong>over $1 million in taxes and fines</strong>, which reduced part of the fortune gained. <br>This process marked the beginning of a phase in which Tonda, although a millionaire, began to live with <strong>lawyers, hearings and constant audits</strong>, instead of enjoying the wealth gained.<br>Tonda's situation worsened during an episode of violence. A few years after the award, she was <strong>kidnapped by her ex-husband, Stacy Martin</strong>, who demanded part of the money. <br>During the kidnapping, the waitress managed to react and <strong>shot him in the chest in self-defense</strong>. <br>The ex-husband survived but was sentenced to a short prison term.<br>The case shocked public opinion and consolidated Tonda's image as a woman who <strong>had his life turned upside down</strong> for a prize that, in theory, should have brought him comfort.<br>After all the processes and traumas, Tonda chose to <strong>receive the prize in annual payments of US$375</strong>, spread over 30 years, which guaranteed greater financial control. <br>Even so, she decided <strong>back to work</strong>, assuming the position of <strong>blackjack and poker dealer</strong> in a casino, to maintain a stable routine and away from the spotlight.<br>Currently, it takes a <strong>discreet and reserved life</strong>, avoiding the media and rarely giving interviews. <br>His trajectory is remembered as <a href="https://en.clickpetroleoegas.com.br/A-young-man-collects-7-million-Pepsi-points-to-redeem-a-real-military-fighter-jet--and-the-company-sues-him--claiming-the-prize-was-a-joke.-btl96/">one of the most emblematic cases</a> about <strong>the side effects of sudden luck</strong> and the legal and emotional risks of a windfall.<br><br>I talk about technology, innovation, oil and gas. Powerball Winner: Did Anyone Win Saturday's $404 Million Jackpot? – KUBE 93.3

Photo: Getty Images
Monday’s (November 3) Powerball jackpot will be worth an estimated $419 million after zero players matched all six numbers during the $404 million drawing Saturday (November 1) night.
Results from Saturday’s Powerball game are listed below:
NUMBERS: 2-26-43-44-62
POWERBALL: 22
POWER PLAY: 2x
Two players won the $1.79 billion Powerball drawing on September 6. Tickets purchased in Missouri and Texas matched all five white numbers and the red Powerball, resetting the next drawing to $20 million ($10.2 million cash value) for September 8.
The September 6 drawing was the second largest jackpot in U.S. lottery history, behind only the $2.04 billion Powerball drawing on November 7, 2022. The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are reported to be 1 in 292.2 million, according to Powerball.com.
The $1.79 billion jackpot winner was the first since one player won the $205 million Powerball drawing on May 31. The Powerball had previously reset after one player won the $167 million Powerball drawing on April 26.
One player in California matched all six numbers to win the $2.04 billion ($997.6 million) jackpot on November 7, 2022, the largest jackpot offered in U.S. lottery history, according to the official Powerball website. Powerball has had jackpots exceeding $1 billion six times.
Mega Millions games have also exceeded $1 billion seven times, which includes its largest offering, a $1.603 billion jackpot that was one by a player in Florida on August 8. Both jackpots increase during each following game until there’s a jackpot winning ticket matching all six numbers drawn, which includes the additional Mega Millions Gold Ball or Powerball in each respective game.
