Brand new Hy-Vee in Wausau sells $7.1M jackpot ticket – WAOW

WINsconsin

WINsconsin
WAUSAU, Wis. — Hy-Vee in Wausau has made a splashy entrance by selling a $7.1 million Megabucks jackpot ticket. The store, which took the place of the County Market at 220 S. 18th Ave., reopened as Hy-Vee just this Tuesday and quickly became a lucky spot for one fortunate customer.
“We are brand new to the community,” said Store Director Jake Dryer. “It’s really exciting to sell a big winner on our third day open as Hy-Vee.”
This recent win adds to Wausau’s streak of Lotto luck in 2025. Earlier this year, local Kwik Trip stores and Rib Foods, LLC sold winning tickets for other significant prizes.
The $7.1 million ticket is the fourth largest Megabucks jackpot since 2017.
The biggest winner was worth $15.1 million in Luck (seriously) in 2023.
Megabucks is a Wisconsin-exclusive game with drawings on Wednesday and Saturday. Tickets must be purchased before 9 p.m. on draw days.
Winners have 180 days from the draw date to claim their prizes. More information is available at wilottery.com or through the Wisconsin Lottery mobile app.

Winning Powerball numbers in Oct. 8 lottery drawing last night: Anyone win Powerball jackpot? – IndyStar

The Powerball jackpot continues to grow after no one matched all six Powerball numbers to win Wednesday’s drawing.
Grab your tickets and check your numbers to see if you’re the game’s newest millionaire.
Here are the numbers for the Wednesday, Oct. 8, Powerball jackpot worth an estimated $223 million with a cash option of $104.4 million.
The winning numbers for Wednesday night’s drawing were 8, 10, 44, 48, 54, and the Powerball is 14. The Power Play was 2X.
No one matched all six numbers to win the Powerball jackpot.
Zero tickets matched all five numbers except for the Powerball worth $1 million.
Double Play numbers were 8, 13, 19, 34, 53, and the Powerball is 24.
Zero tickets matched all six numbers, and no one matched all five numbers except for the Powerball worth $500,000.
The Powerball jackpot for Saturday, Oct. 11, 2025, rises to $244 million with a cash option of $114.2 million, according to powerball.com.
Drawings are held three times per week at approximately 10:59 p.m. ET every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday.
You only need to match one number in Powerball to win a prize. However, that number must be the Powerball worth $4. Visit powerball.com for the entire prize chart.
Matching two numbers won’t win anything in Powerball unless one of the numbers is the Powerball. A ticket matching one of the five numbers and the Powerball is also worth $4. Visit powerball.com for the entire prize chart.
A single Powerball ticket costs $2. Pay an additional $1 to add the Power Play for a chance to multiply all Powerball winnings except for the jackpot. Players can also add the Double Play for an additional $1 to have a second chance at winning $10 million.
Tuesday night’s winning numbers were 17, 26, 33, 45, 56, and the Mega Ball was 19.
The Mega Millions jackpot for Friday’s drawing grows to an estimated $575 million with a cash option of $264.6 million after no Mega Millions tickets matched all six numbers to win the jackpot, according to megamillions.com.
