Saturday’s (November 22) Powerball jackpot will be worth an estimated $629 million after zero players matched all six numbers during the $592 million drawing Wednesday (November 19) night.

Two players won the $1.79 billion Powerball drawing on September 6. Tickets purchased in Missouri and Texas matched all five white numbers and the red Powerball, resetting the next drawing to $20 million ($10.2 million cash value) for September 8.
Saturday’s drawing was the second largest jackpot in U.S. lottery history, behind only the $2.04 billion Powerball drawing on November 7, 2022. The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are reported to be 1 in 292.2 million, according to Powerball.com.
The jackpot winner was the first since one player won the $205 million Powerball drawing on May 31. The Powerball had previously reset after one player won the $167 million Powerball drawing on April 26.
One player in California matched all six numbers to win the $2.04 billion ($997.6 million) jackpot on November 7, 2022, the largest jackpot offered in U.S. lottery history, according to the official Powerball website. Powerball has had jackpots exceeding $1 billion six times.
Mega Millions games have also exceeded $1 billion seven times, which includes its largest offering, a $1.603 billion jackpot that was one by a player in Florida on August 8. Both jackpots increase during each following game until there’s a jackpot winning ticket matching all six numbers drawn, which includes the additional Mega Millions Gold Ball or Powerball in each respective game.

The College Programming Board (CPB) and Health Promotion in the Center for Health and Counseling Services co-sponsored Sex Toy Bingo on Nov. 13.
The event started with a presentation by Megan Johnston, the Coordinator for Health Promotion, and Shinyeré MnKaPtah, a BSW intern in the Health Promotion office. The presentation gave students important information about sex, sex safety and more. Students were encouraged to ask questions and interact with the presentation. The information presented would later be asked to students and the answers would be on their bingo cards. 
The event had over 200 people in attendance, even more than the 2024 spring turnout. Johnston explained in an email with The Ramapo News how she felt about the large attendance. 
“Over 200 students attended the event and we were not surprised!” Johnston stated. “…students are curious about sex — it makes sense for it to be popular!”
Students got the chance to answer questions related to the informative presentation and if their answers were on their card they got to mark it off. There were five rounds of bingo with different patterns you had to make on your card in order to win. There was a variety of 30 sex toys as prizes for the students.
Johnston explains that for college students, sex is a big part of life.
“Sexuality is a part of adult life, and we know from National College Health Assessment 2025 data that over half of Ramapo students are engaging in oral sex and slightly under half are engaging in vaginal sex,” stated Johnston.
The event was an opportunity to educate about sex and safe sex to college students in an interactive way. The overall goal was to make students aware of risks and resources available to help them.
“This event is a great way to share important information on campus resources and sexual health, including risk reduction strategies for sexually transmitted infections and unplanned pregnancy, consent, anatomy and pleasure to a large audience,” Johnston stated.
The prizes for the event also represent the continued goal of de-stigmatizing sex. 
“Sexual health knowledge enables students to understand their bodies, communicate clearly with partners and make informed decisions to protect their health, so ideally, no one regrets a sexual encounter. Sex toys are also a great tool to experiment with what feels good BEFORE ever having sex,” Johnston stated.
Sex Toy Bingo provided students with an opportunity to feel good about themselves and their sexuality. All prizes were picked discreetly and put in bags for those who won, in an attempt to make everyone feel comfortable. 
Megan Johnston shared some final information regarding Health Services and Ramapo resources for students.
“Health Services on campus provides low-cost testing, pregnancy testing, free emergency contraception, and free safer sex materials through programs like The Roadrunner Ready Kit and Free Condom Friday. They are located at the South Gate exit and can be reached at 201-684-7536 Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. For any questions, students can email studentwellness@ramapo.edu.”
