EDINA, Mo. — The Knox County Nutrition Site raised nearly $2,900 during its annual basket raffle and soup luncheon held Nov. 1, coinciding with the Knox County Chamber of Commerce Fall Winter Vendor Fair at the nearby community center.
The nutrition site served an assortment of soups — chili, vegetable beef and potato — along with sandwiches, cookies and bottled water for free-will donations. Raffle tickets for themed gift baskets were also sold for $1 each.
Proceeds from the fundraiser support daily meal service for local seniors, including on-site lunches and home-delivered meals throughout the county. Part of this year’s funds were used to purchase a new deep freezer for the site.
According to Nutrition Site Director Mary Ann Banks, recent fundraising efforts — including Tuesday night BINGO, private donations, and the Nov. 1 luncheon and basket raffle — have helped sustain operations through significant financial stressors, including the recent federal government shutdown.
Tuesday night BINGO will continue weekly at 7 p.m. Players can purchase packs of cards to participate in 13 games each evening, including seven regular games and six specialty patterns such as butterfly, cross, crazy C, Y, double L and blackout. Winners select from a table of assorted prizes.
The weekly BINGO night has become a popular social gathering, drawing dozens of attendees, many of whom bring snacks and treats to share with friends.
Beginning this week, the nutrition site is also selling 100 raffle tickets at $10 each for a chance to win a $300 C&R Market gift card. Tickets will be sold until they are gone, with the drawing scheduled for noon on Dec. 3 at the site.
The nutrition site serves Knox County residents throughout the week, providing a vital service for many seniors who rely on daily meal deliveries or on-site lunch. Meals are served at 109 N. Main St. in Edina, Monday through Friday, for a suggested donation of $9 for those under 60 and $5 for those 60 and over. Home-delivered meals are also available, thanks to local volunteers.

ATLANTA – A Georgia Lottery player in Ocilla, which is in southeast Georgia, won $4 million in the Nov. 18 Mega Millions drawing after matching all five white-ball numbers, lottery officials said.

The winning ticket, sold at Sunny Food Mart on North Irwin Avenue, included a 4X multiplier that boosted the prize from $1 million to $4 million.
The win comes just days after a Georgia player claimed the $980 million Mega Millions jackpot over the weekend — the largest lottery prize in state history. The next Mega Millions drawing is set for Nov. 21 with a jackpot of $60 million.
Another Georgia player won $258,913 in the Nov. 18 Fantasy 5 drawing with a ticket purchased at an Exxon station on Appalachian Highway in Mineral Bluff.
Several additional players won big using the Georgia Lottery’s Diggi Games mobile platform. A Snellville resident won $30,000 on Nov. 17; a Richmond Hill player won $20,000 the same day; a Hinesville player won $18,576 on Nov. 18; and a Dallas resident won $10,000 on Nov. 17.
Lottery officials noted that proceeds from all Georgia Lottery games support education programs across the state.

– a detailed log structure for ETL pipelines!
As part of my work, I have been converting some of my ETL jobs developed on the traditional tool-based framework into a python framework and came across a few challenges. These few challenges are orchestration, code management, logging, version control, etc. For a few of them, there was not much effort required while developing them on a tool. But, in hand-written code like python ETL’s, these are quite a challenge! And this brings to one such challenge, our topic today!
Also instead of describing much on ‘how’, as there are many good articles already on a platform, our main focus today is ‘What’.
Glossary:
Introduction: When we design and develop ETL pipelines on tools we focus on components like sources, target objects, transformation logic, and a few support tasks to handle pipelines. These tools will also generate logs for all jobs that are actively running and can be monitored with their internal interfaces. Basically, I mean to say developing/maintaining logs is not a challenging activity in the tool. whereas on python, it is a separate activity that needs to be handled. Today, In our post we will discuss the basic skeleton of ETL jobs, a rough idea of details we can record in any pipeline, then later we structure them into our ETL code, and finally, we will develop a sample scenario with logs recorded.
ETL Skeleton: As we already know there are different kinds of ETL jobs like Merge/Upsert process, Staging loads, SCD 2 loads, Delta jobs, direct insert loads, etc. all these ETL jobs have a very basic structure(shown below in python) and i.e. the main function to call the modules in the pipeline, extract module, transformation module, and load module, Now, we can take the below Skeleton to also identify what could be our ETL log look like.
Structure of Log: As we outlined the blueprint of the ETL job, let’s try to list down a rough idea of what details we can track from a job.

And, if you observe the above code structure, I have created a config file to maintain all job level details. By importing this file into your code you can make use of different parts of the code including for logging.
