How Much $983 Million Mega Millions Jackpot Winner Will Actually Get – iHeart

By Jason Hall
November 16, 2025
The winner of the Friday’s (November 14) $989 million jackpot’s actual take home total has been revealed.
Georgia taxes lottery winnings as income at 5.14% on top of the 24% in federal taxes withheld by the IRS, meaning the player, who purchased the ticket at a Publix grocery store in Newman, will either get $240 if they take the lump sum or payments totaling $522 million, which will be about $17.4 million annually for 30 years, according to USAMega.com. Winning tickets in the state of Georgia are valid for 180 days and must be redeemed within the state.
Georgia winners can also opt to keep their identity secret if they win a prize exceeding $250,000. The Mega Millions jackpot will reset to $50 million for Tuesday’s (November 18) drawing. Results from Friday’s Mega Millions game are listed below:
NUMBERS: 1-8-11-12-57
GOLD BALL: 7
Friday’s drawing was the eighth-highest Mega Millions jackpot in the game’s history and the 14th-largest in U.S. lottery history. Mega Millions jackpot previously reset after a single ticket sold in Virginia matched all six numbers during the estimated $348 million Mega Millions drawing on June 27, according to MegaMillions.com.
A player in New Jersey won the $1.13 billion drawing on March 26, 2024, which was the fifth largest in the game’s history and the eighth largest in U.S. history. The jackpot reset four times in January 2023, which included one player in Maine winning the estimated $1.35 billion drawing on January 14, one player in New York winning the following $20 million drawing on January 17, one player in Massachusetts winning the $31 million drawing on January 24 and another player in Massachusetts winning the $31 million drawing on January 31.
The January 14, 2023 Mega Millions drawing was the second-highest in the game’s history and offered the fourth-largest jackpot in the U.S. lottery history. Mega Millions tickets rose from $2 to $5 prior to the April 8 drawing and officials said the increased revenue will improve a player’s odds of winning the jackpot from 1 in 303 million to 1 in 290 million, which will lead to more sales.
“People really want big jackpots,” said Joshua Johnston, the Washington state lottery director for the Mega Millions game, via the New York Post. “We expect to see a sales lift on this.”
Higher ticket prices would allow the jackpot to start at $50 million, rather than the $20 million it resets to after a jackpot hits during the last prior drawing, while the next jackpot would swell even larger if there isn’t a big winner. Additionally, the minimum prize of $10 on a winning ticket will double given the rise in cost for a ticket, according to lottery officials.
Lottery players will reportedly have a 1 in 23 chance to win any prize, an improvement from the 1 in 24 odds prior to the price change, officials confirmed to the New York Post. Mega Millions has only previously changed its price one time since its launch in 2002.

Pi Coin Price Flashes Rare Green Signal — Can Bulls Go Higher? – BeInCrypto

Written by
Ananda Banerjee
Edited by
Mohammad Shahid
Pi Coin just printed something unusual. Three major timeframes are green at the same time. The one-month chart is up 9.5%, the seven-day chart is up 2.1%, and the last 24 hours are up 3.5%.
This is rare because the Pi Coin price is still down almost 40% in the three-month window. The token is showing early strength while most of the market is still stuck in a slow bleed. The question now is simple: is this just a brief bounce, or the start of a larger move?
PI has been stuck inside a symmetrical triangle for weeks. This pattern typically indicates indecision, rather than a trend direction.
However, yesterday, the Pi Coin price broke through the upper boundary and is now testing the confirmation level near $0.229, a key level. A clean candle close above that line is the first sign that buyers are finally taking control.

The next clue comes from the Chaikin Money Flow (CMF). CMF measures whether money is moving into or out of an asset. Two days ago, CMF broke out of its descending trend line, rising sharply from –0.09 to +0.05.
This jump shows that the breakout is not random. Bigger Pi Coin wallets may be stepping in as the pattern flips bullish.
The On-Balance Volume (OBV) tells the other half of the story. OBV tracks buying and selling volume to show whether traders support the move. OBV touched lower, back to its rising trend line on November 12–13, hinting that retail volume wasn’t ready.
However, since November 14, OBV has begun to curl upward again. If OBV breaks its upper trend line, it confirms that retail Pi Coin buyers are now joining the move sparked by the CMF breakout.
The combination of a technical breakout, rising money flow, and recovering OBV gives Pi Coin its strongest setup in weeks.
If the Pi Coin price closes above $0.229, the move could extend to $0.236, representing a gain of approximately 4.2% from current levels. If momentum holds, the next target is near $0.252, which has previously acted as strong resistance.
However, the bullish setup can fail if the OBV rolls over again or the CMF slips back into negative territory. A drop below $0.215 weakens the structure and exposes a slide toward $0.208.
Currently, the Pi Coin price is exhibiting rare strength across multiple timeframes. Whether that strength lasts comes down to one line: $0.229. If the bulls defend it, PI’s green streak may have more room to run.

A group of workers laying the foundation for a house on a piece of land owned by a dairy farmer in Thuthipattu village near Ambur in Tirupattur unearthed a 500-year-old shiva linga.
A team of officials from the Government Museum, Vellore, led by curator K. Saravanan, inspected the linga on Saturday and traced its origin to the later Vijayanagara era in the 16th Century. “We found a similar green stone lingam on a house plot at Arani [in Tiruvannamalai district] a decade-and-a-half ago,” Mr. Saravanan told The Hindu.
To build a small concrete house for farmer S. Ramesh, workers were deepening a portion of the land to lay the foundation when one of them struck a stone idol at a depth of seven feet. Workers alerted the landlord, who informed the police and the village administrative officer.
The workers lifted the stone idol with a mechanised crane in the presence of revenue officials and the police. The shiva linga, which is two feet tall and 1.5 feet wide, has no damage to its structure.
Officials said that under the Indian Treasure Trove Act, 1878, anything found below a one-foot depth belongs to the government. Such treasure should be handed over to the district treasury, with the Collector being the sole guardian.
In this case, a report from the Government Museum, Vellore, will be sent to the Director of Museums, Chennai, and the Tirupattur Collector. Museum officials said the Collector would be requested to display the linga at Vellore Museum for students and others learn the rich past of the region.
The shiva linga, archaeologists said, would be around 500 years old and belonged to the Vijayanagara era because it was during that period, the region witnessed more temple constructions. Furthermore, most of the sculptures and idols in the region, including idols that adore the Jalakanteshwara temple, an ASI- protected monument in Vellore, belong to this period, and are made of green stones found in abundance along the Jawadhu Hills in Tiruvannamalai.
Like Sriperumbudur (the birthplace of Saint Ramanuja), the region along the Palar was a great centre for both Vaishnavites and Shaivaites. The green stone linga found near Ambur is a detachable one, another feature of the era. With the finding of the linga, the area has been earmarked for excavation, officials said.
