There was no jackpot winner for Friday’s Oct. 31 Mega Millions drawing, which means that Tuesday’s Nov. 4 drawing, if there is a winner, would be the ninth highest jackpot in Mega Millions history.
This jackpot is an estimated $800 million for Tuesday night’s drawing, according to the Mega Millions website. The cash option is $371.7 million.
The last jackpot was won on June 27, a single winner from Virginia won a $348 million jackpot.
A group of co-workers on Long Island rung in the new year by scoring a Mega Millions jackpot of $437 million on January 1, 2019.
There was a $20 million jackpot winner in Syracuse on April 19, 2023. There were three jackpot winners in New York in 2023, $483 million on April 14 in Queens and $20 million on January 17 in the Bronx. There have been no Mega Millions jackpot winners from New York in 2025.
The next Mega Millions drawing is Tuesday, Nov. 4. Drawings are held at 11 p.m. every Tuesday and Friday.

In New York, in-store and online ticket sales are available until 10 p.m. on the night of the draw. Mega Millions costs $2 to play. In New Jersey and Connecticut you can purchase a ticket until 10:45 p.m. the night of the draw.
The new multiplier increases non-jackpot prizes by two, three, four, five or 10 times. The cost of the new multiplier is included in the $5 cost of a ticket. The multiplier value — either 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x or 10x — will be randomly selected and printed on the ticket next to each play. This feature replaces the Megaplier, which has been retired.

The odds of matching the five white balls and Mega Ball to win the Mega Millions jackpot are 1 in 290,472,336.
A jackpot winner has the option of taking an annuity or cash payment.
The annuity is paid out as one immediate payment followed by 29 annual payments, according to the Mega Millions website. Each payment is 5% bigger than the previous one.
“This helps protect winners’ lifestyle and purchasing power in periods of inflation,” according to the Mega Millions website.
The cash option is a one-time, lump-sum payment that is equal to all the cash in the Mega Millions jackpot prize pool.
If two or more people win the jackpot in the same drawing, the money is shared equally among all winning tickets.
In order to purchase a ticket, you’ll have to visit your local convenience store, gas station or grocery store — and in a handful of states, you can purchase tickets online.
To play, you will need to pick six numbers. Five numbers will be white balls ranging from 1 to 70. The gold Mega Ball is one number between 1 and 24.
If you believe the odds are against you, ask for a “Quick Pick” or an “Easy Pick,” the computer will randomly generate the numbers for you.

Devotees have been visiting Shiv Mandir since morning to offer prayers and seek blessings from Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, as it is the first Monday of Shravan month – Sawan Somwar. On this occasion, several devotees visited Babulnath Mandir in Mumbai. A huge crowd was seen offering prayers at the temple. Interacting with IANS, several devotees shared how they feel after praying and seeking the blessing of god. A priest at the temple said to IANS, “Today is the first Monday of Shravan, a day of great significance in the week, especially as it is dear to Lord Shiva.” A devotee told IANS, “We have great faith in the month of Sawan and Lord Bhole Baba. Every year, we come here to have darshan.”

Significance Of Sawan Somwar:
Sawan Somwar holds a deep spiritual importance in Hinduism. Sawan Somwar refers to all the Mondays that fall within the sacred month of Sawan, also known as Shravan. Devotees in this month worship Lord Shiva. Each Monday falling within this month is very auspicious. The Sawan Somwar marks the beginning of a great spiritual period of the year. During this time, devotees participate in special prayers and perform special rituals to please Lord Shiva and seek his blessings.
Devotees focus inward and dedicate their thoughts and deeds to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati during the month of Sawan. In addition to praying for wealth, harmony, and well-being in their families and personal lives, devotees use this time to show their abiding devotion to and surrender to the holy couple.
Even while Mondays are already considered sacred to Lord Shiva, their spiritual power is increased when they fall during the month of Sawan. These days, devotees adhere to a strict spiritual schedule. The Sawan Somwar Vrat (fast), in which adherents refrain from eating from sunrise to sunset, is one of the most significant customs. It is thought that this fast strengthens one’s relationship with God by cleansing the body and mind.
Along with fasting, devotees perform Rudrabhishek, which involves singing Vedic mantras while bathing the Shiva Linga in holy liquids such as milk, water, honey, and ghee. Bilva leaves, fruits, and flowers are also offered as tokens of dedication and love.

One fortunate Queens resident recently claimed a $1 million top prize in the New York Lottery’s Cashword Bonus scratch-off game, according to the New York Lottery.
Yoselyn Casia-Garcia took home a single lump sum payment of $416,327 after required withholdings.
The winning scratcher was purchased at the Gold Bright IDA located at 65-10 Roosevelt Ave. in Woodside, Queens.
Casia-Garcia scratched at least three complete words to claim the prize.

Mira-Bhayandar: As part of a series of initiatives implemented in accordance to the seven-point agenda chalked out by chief minister-Devendra Fadnavis, the Mira Bhayandar-Vasai Virar (MBVV) police Commissionerate has unveiled an innovative approach to gather public feedback via Quick Response (QR)-based reviews.
The new mechanism which is a first of its kind initiative to be launched in the state is aimed at better transparency by replacing the traditional feedback mechanisms for public redressal, including in-person complaint registers at police stations, verbal feedback during visits and public window where citizens could report issues or concerns.
The system was launched at the Samvad Hall at the MBVV police headquarters in Mira Road on Wednesday (2, April) in the presence of commissioner-Madhukar Pandey and other senior officials. Standees displaying the QR codes at visible locations will be available across all 19 police stations and other service related departments.
Visitors scanning the on-site QR-code on Google scanner will have to enter their names and mobile numbers following which they will gain access to a detailed questionnaire seeking inputs on multiple parameters including- purpose of visit, nature of complaint, officers’ behaviour, status of resolution, service efficiency, response time and cleanliness of the facility.
“Visitors should avail the facility which will not only help us in rectifying any kind of shortcomings, but also incorporate valuable suggestions to improve and enhance facilities.” said MBVV chief- Madhukar Pandey.
The feedback will also help in rating the operational effectiveness of police stations by capturing both- quantitative and qualitative feedback, allowing for a comprehensive assessment of each interaction.
With a focus on streamlining government processes, ensuring office efficiency and improving the daily lives of citizens, the chief minister had launched the 100-day action plan in January this year, which is being evaluated by the Quality Council of India (QCI).
