Watch Mega Millions drawings streamed on ABC 7 New York on Tuesday and Friday at 11:00 p.m.
NEW YORK (WABC) — Georgia is celebrating its largest jackpot winner in history.
A single Mega Millions ticket purchased in Newnan matched all six numbers drawn Friday night to win a jackpot worth an estimated $980 million. The jackpot has an estimated cash value of $452.2 million.
Friday's numbers were: 1-8-11-12-57 Mega Ball: 7
Publix #1816, located at 4000 N. Highway 29 in Newnan, sold the lucky Quik Pik ticket.
This is the highest single payout in Georgia Lottery history, surpassing the previous record held when one Powerball ticket sold in Buford for the Oct. 23, 2024, drawing won a $478.2 million jackpot. Two individuals shared the prize and selected the cash option of $230.6 million.
Georgia is one of the founding members of Mega Millions.
In the 40 drawings since the jackpot was last won at $348 million in Virginia on June 27 – the most drawings in a single jackpot run in the game's history – there were almost 14.3 million winning tickets at all prize levels. With the new greatly-enhanced prize values, total non-jackpot prizes won were nearly $343.4 million. These include 21 second-tier prizes of $2 million or more (won in Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Mississippi, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Texas and Virginia).
Mega Millions tickets are $5 each and include a randomly assigned multiplier, multiplying the base prize levels by 2X, 3X, 4X, 5X or 10X. Half of the proceeds from the sale of each Mega Millions ticket remains in the state where the ticket was sold, where the money supports designated good causes and retailer commissions.
The overall odds of winning any Mega Millions prize are 1 in 23; the odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 290,472,336.
Mega Millions is available in 45 states, plus Washington, D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Notre Dame vs. Pitt: Week 12 College Football Betting Odds, Prediction – USA Today

Each week, a team in contention for the College Football Playoff has to perform a tightrope act, and Week 12 is no different.
The Notre Dame Fighting Irish (7-2) can’t afford another loss, or their playoff hopes will be gone. This weekend, they travel to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to take on the Pitt Panthers (7-2) from the ACC, who are lurking in the playoff shadows, from Acrisure Stadium.
If you are looking for some betting advice for the matchup, we’ve got you covered. Here are the latest odds for the game, courtesy of BetMGM.
All college football odds via BetMGM
Put up or shut up time for Notre Dame. Amid a schedule many have denounced, the Irish get a great chance to pick up a big-time road win over Pitt.
Pitt, quietly explosive on offense, is ranked No. 6 in college football at 39.7 points per game, ahead of the Irish, putting up 38.7 points per game. They are doing it through the air, with 2,723 passing yards and 24 touchdowns. The playmakers out at receiver, Kenny Johnson and Raphael Williams, have combined for 1,098 yards and 10 touchdowns.
The Irish defense is built to handle this offense, though. Notre Dame has 25 sacks, 36 pass deflections, and 16 interceptions on the year. Turnovers against the Irish are lethal.
While Jeremiyah Love is doing his thing, with 988 yards and 13 touchdowns, the Pitt defense is stingy on the ground, giving up just 2.4 yards per carry and 81 yards per game. Notre Dame quarterback CJ Carr will have to make a few big throws in this game to extend drives, and as he has proven this year, he is ready for the moment.
Prediction: Notre Dame 31, Pitt 21
Best Bet: Pitt +11.5
Time: 12 p.m. ET

Cork Lotto player scoops nearly €300k as winning ticket shop named – Cork Beo

A lucky Lottery player in Cork has woken up almost €300,000 richer this morning – a nice way to celebrate the lifting of a 24-hour weather warning.
The player matched five numbers and a lucky star in Friday's EuroMillions draw, winning a prize worth €294,048. The Quick Pick ticket was purchased earlier that day from Sweeney’s Daybreak, Kiltegan Park in Rochestown. The winning numbers in last night’s (Friday, November 14) EuroMillions draw were: 9, 26, 27, 45, 48 and the Lucky Stars were 8 and 9.
While there was no winner of the EuroMillions jackpot worth €122,611,491, over 55,000 players in Ireland won prizes in the EuroMillions and EuroMillions Plus games – including the Rebel winner. The Cork player is advised to sign the back of their ticket and keep it safe. They should make contact with the National Lottery Prize Claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie and arrangements will be made for them to visit Lottery Headquarters to collect their prize.
National Lottery spokesperson Darragh O’Dwyer said: “A EuroMillions player in Cork is certain to be celebrating today after matching five numbers and one lucky star in Friday night’s main EuroMillions draw to win an incredible €294,048. While over 55,000 players won prizes across the EuroMillions and EuroMillions Plus draws, the Cork player earned themselves the title as the biggest winner of the night in Ireland. Today, we are encouraging all our players in Cork to check their tickets very carefully and to contact our Prize Claims team as soon as possible.”
It follows a big €405,000 win in Waterford last week – though the winner didn't know about it for a couple of days before checking the ticket locked in his car over the weekend. On that occasion the ticket was purchased from Mulhearns Foodstore in Kilmacthomas, Co. Waterford. The winner explained: “I heard the news breaking the following day.
"But after leaving the ticket in my car over the weekend, I didn’t check it until Sunday evening. I had to scan the ticket three times to believe what I was seeing – ‘You’ve Won Big!’ I couldn’t stop smiling for hours. I was so delighted!” He added that he's planning a big Christmas celebration to mark the win.

More than $1,000 raised for Hector Martinez at Bingo fundraiser in Madras Elks Lodge – Madras Pioneer

Published 8:22 pm Wednesday, November 12, 2025
By Candice Stilwell
A fundraiser for a former jail corporal fighting cancer raised more than $1,900 as he recovers from treatment.
The Nov. 8 fundraiser for Madras resident Hector Martinez was organized by a nonprofit called Heroes for Hector
The fundraiser was a showcase of community spirit, organizers said. The Elks Lodge provided Bingo games and raffle tickets. Oregon Beef Company in Madras donated meat for hamburgers served on site and Grocery Outlet donated hamburger buns and gave a discount to Hector’s Heroes for the condiments.
“Chaplain Richard Ross reached out saying that he would love to put on a fundraiser for Hector and his family,” said Elk’s Lodge secretary Valarie Highfield. “And I thought it was a great idea and just ran with it.”
More than 40 people attended the fundraiser, and all the money raised went to Martinez and his family.
Martinez returned home in late September after months in Portland’s Oregon Health & Science University hospital. While there, he received 12 weeks of treatment for a rare kind of cancer: Burkitt’s Lymphoma.
“It’s a long, long road of recovery ahead of him, even now,” said Martinez’s nephew Bryan Lima. “And it was really rough at the beginning of the year. I was actually in the room with him when they diagnosed him.”
The treatment ultimately caused Martinez to have partial paralysis from the waist down.
Now, Martinez and his family are adjusting to a new way of life as Martinez is currently in a wheelchair.
“Really, this is benefiting the Martinez family,” said Elks Lodge staff member Cullen Doyle. “ And we’re trying to stand behind them.”
Martinez is currently working in outpatient therapy on strengthening his muscles and has gained back some ability to move his feet.
“It is a lot of work,” said Martinez about his recovery efforts. “It’s been just a crazy process, the whole thing.”
Through it all, Martinez said he has been thankful for his wife, who has been a huge support to him.
“It’s a lot on her plate and I just don’t know if I could ever thank her enough.”
Lima shared a similar sentiment.
“She’s just awesome all around,” Lima said about his aunt. “I feel like she took care of him the most and I think she needs just as much recognition for her to assure her that she’s doing a good job too.”
Martinez has been overwhelmed by all the support he’s received from those around him since coming home.
“It’s mostly all of my coworkers who have been really pushing it,” said Martinez. “But it really surprised me because some of them are people that I know, that’s how they are, and that’s how they’d be. But then there’s been some people who I’ve been more of acquaintances with. And to see those people help out, it just shows that when you give good, good karma, it comes back to you.”
The fundraiser was no exception to that.
Elk’s Lodge staff were excited at the opportunity to support Martinez and kick off their weekly Bingo nights with the fundraiser.
“It’s just overwhelming from someone who went from basically the brink of death because of how sick I got,” Martinez said. “And then seeing everyone just supporting me. People I know, people I don’t know, just people of the community… It’s just an amazing thing.”
