We all remember how serious things got with that $2 billion Powerball. This Mega Millions jackpot is getting there.
The first Mega drawing of 2023 is Tuesday night, and it’s already the sixth-largest jackpot in lottery history, ballooning to an estimated $785 million after no one nailed all the numbers Friday.
That marked 22 straight drawings without anyone matching all six numbers. And the pool will likely continue to rise. (Check past winning numbers here).

One lucky person in Ohio did win $1 million in Friday’s drawing, and New York state saw nine players win the third-tier prize of $10,000. Many of us would be more than happy with that, of course.
The $785 million jackpot is for a winner who chooses to be paid through an annuity over 29 years. Nearly all winners opt for a cash payout, which for Tuesday night’s drawing would be an estimated $395 million.
The huge jackpot comes less than two months after the largest lottery prize ever, a $2.04 billion Powerball prize that was won on Nov. 8 in California. So far, that big winner hasn’t stepped forward to claim the prize.
So what are your chances? Well, they’re not great if you do play — and they’re zero if you don’t. But there is a chance.
Someone has to win eventually, even with the miserable jackpot odds of one in 302.6 million. Pro tip: Avoid quick-pick.
Each ticket costs $2 to play. Players also have the option to add a “Megaplier” option to their tickets. That addition costs $1, and can potentially multiply any non-jackpot prize a player wins.
To play, players are asked to pick five numbers between 1 and 70, and to choose one Mega Ball.
Players can either pick their own numbers or can have the machine select numbers for them. Tickets must be purchased one hour or more before the drawing.
There are nine different ways to win prizes in the game.
If you match all five numbers and the Mega Ball, you win the jackpot. The odds of doing so are around 1-in-302 million.
Here are the other eight prize levels. All of these prizes are subject to the “Megaplier,” which can increase the given prize.
The drawings take place each Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m. ET. The deadline for ticket sales is 10:45 p.m. ET.

For 30 years, the Knights of Columbus Notre Dame Council #10514 in Flagler Beach has been a constant for some of Flagler Beach’s senior community members.
The council, located at the Santa Maria Del Mar Catholic Church, has been a present force in the Flagler Beach and surrounding communities since the 1990s. Knights members Tim Postemski and fellow John Check have spent the last several years working the bingo games, which are held every Tuesday at the Santa Maria Del Mar Parish Hall beginning at 10:30 a.m.
“For some of these folks, it’s the only thing they look forward to, getting out for the day,” Postemski said.
Check said the bingo players have become “like a big family.” People come from all over to the weekly games, he said, from St. Augustine, DeLand to Daytona Shores. Check said it feels good to see the camaraderie among the crowd.
Every year, the bingo games shut down from May to August to make room for other events, and, he said, every year the players are eager to return.
“We’ve had people come here and say, ‘I couldn’t wait for you to reopen. I look forward to it,” he said. “[Some] get out of the house once a week, and they come here.”
Grand Knight Bryan Perszyk said the Knights of Columbus is a Catholic men’s organization that supports charitable initiatives in local communities. The Flagler Beach council is very active in the community, he said. 
“Most of us are looking for a way to give back,” Persyzk said, “We feel blessed, you know? I do. It’s just a way to give back.”
According to their website, the Council supports a wide range of charitable and volunteer outreach programs from scholarships, fundraiser cookouts, and campaigns and programs to support new mothers and crisis pregnancy centers. The group recently fundraised and purchased the Save Haven Baby Box that was recently installed at a Palm Coast fire station. 
The weekly bingo event is one way the group manages to raise funding for its charitable programs, but, Postemski said, it’s more than that, too. Over the years the bingo game has become a place for these people to connect to each other and find community and friendship.
Those who attend pay $15 for a book of bingo cards, and lunch is provided as well – by the same Knights of Columbus members that serve the Monday night dinners at Santa Maria Del Mar.
Bingo player Lillian Loudermilk said she’s been going to bingo for 50 years and has “never seen men work as hard as they do here.”
“These guys are so exceptional,” she said. “They treat us like we are queens.”
For some of the bingo attendees, she said, the bingo event is their life and have come to rely on the Knights of Columbus weekly bingo games. 
“Especially for the older women that don’t have much to do,” she said. “They have a place to come to, and they’re loved and taken care of here.”

A New Jersey lottery player, along with one from Virginia, won $1 million in the Wednesday, Nov. 12 Powerball.
The winning tickets matched the five white balls to win the second-tier prizes. It was not immediately released where the winning tickets were sold in each state.
There was no jackpot winner as the Powerball will increase to an estimated $546 million with a cash option of $255 million for Saturday’s drawing, according to the Powerball website. 
The jackpot was last won on Sept. 6 when two lottery players from Missouri and Texas $1.787 billion jackpot – the second largest ever.
Meanwhile, the Mega Millions jackpot is at $965 million for Friday with a cash option of $445.3 million, according to the Mega Millions website. 
The Powerball winning numbers for Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2025 were: 29 – 39 – 43 – 51 – 65 and Powerball 23. The Powerplay was 2x.
Powerball drawings are held three times a week – Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. Monday drawings were added in 2021.
The deadline for purchasing Powerball ticket varies by state so don’t wait until the last minute. The deadline in New Jersey is 9:59 p.m. on the day of the drawing, while New York’s deadline is 10 p.m.

The cost is $2 per ticket, but you can add the Power Play for $1, which will increase the amount of your potential prize up to five times the original prize (except for the jackpot and Match 5). There is also a 10x Power Play possibility when the jackpot is less than $150 million.
Each player selects five numbers from 1 to 69 for the white balls and one number from 1 to 26 for the red Powerball. However, you can also have the lottery machine generate a quick pick ticket with random numbers for you.
Prizes vary from $4 for the matching the Powerball to $1 million for matching all five white balls (except in California) to the jackpot for matching all six balls. You can check all the prize payouts on the Powerball website here.
You can play the game in 45 states plus the Washington DC, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. 
Tickets can be purchased in-person at gas stations, convenience stores and grocery stores. Some airport terminals may also sell lottery tickets.

The major lotteries in the United States offer two jackpot payout options: annuity and cash.
The annuity option is paid out over time. There is an immediate payment and then 29 annual payments after that, increasing by 5% each year.
The cash option is significantly lower than the advertised jackpot, but it is paid in a lump sum. You don’t have to wait decades for all the money.
In some states, like New Jersey, you can win a lottery anonymously. That wasn’t always the case, but now winners are able to stay anonymous under a law that was signed by Gov. Phil Murphy.

A EuroMillions jackpot of more than £83.4m is the largest lottery prize to go unclaimed for week, a lottery spokesman has said.
A ticket holder who purchased their slip in a shop is yet to claim the £83,474,081 prize from a draw on 24 January.
The mystery winner matched all five main numbers – 02, 11, 19, 30 and 49 – as well as the Lucky Star numbers, which were 03 and 08.
A spokesperson for The National Lottery operator Allwyn said it was "very unusual" for such a large prize to go unclaimed for days, adding that it was the "biggest prize to have gone unclaimed at this stage".
Where the pink ticket was purchased has not yet been revealed, but Allwyn said it would undertake "bespoke activity" there if the prize is still not claimed by next Friday.
"It is in everybody's interest that this prize is claimed," the spokesman added.
Andy Carter, senior winners' adviser at Allwyn, said: "I can't believe there's one lucky ticket holder out there who hasn't claimed this incredible EuroMillions jackpot prize – there are 83,474,081 reasons for them to check their ticket straight away.
"We're urging all EuroMillions players to check their paper tickets to see if they are our missing multi-millionaire."
According to The National Lottery website, there are currently nine other EuroMillions prizes that can still be claimed by UK ticket-holders, though the largest is worth £1m.
The largest EuroMillions prize ever to not be claimed by a UK ticket holder was £63.8m in June 2012.
Ticket holders have 180 days from the day of the draw to claim their prize.
Grants were awarded to groups providing access to physical activities and support networks.
The Stroud church is on Historic England's Heritage at Risk Register and in need of restoration.
Peter Rogers couldn't believe he had won and double checked the ticket at multiple shops.
It is understood that viewers watching the rollover saw the programme abruptly cut off.
The Northamptonshire-based group will use it to deliver cultural projects in the next three years.
