AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – A Blythe lottery player is among the latest winners in the Georgia Lottery.
The player was among several winning five-figure prizes playing Georgia Lottery Diggi Games this week on the lottery’s mobile app and website:
Springtime means animals are multiplying, and the Georgia Department of Natural Resources wants you to know what to do and not do if you see a baby animal.
Also, a Georgia lottery player hit the jackpot for $261,344 in Tuesday’s Fantasy 5 drawing. The lucky ticket was purchased at QuikTrip, 600 S. Marietta Parkway in  Marietta.
The winning ticket matched all five winning numbers, which were 16-24-30-36-37.
Winners in Georgia have 180 days from the draw date to claim prizes. As with all Georgia Lottery games, proceeds from Fantasy 5 and Diggi Games benefit education in Georgia.
Ga. Gov. Brian Kemp signed his latest legislative achievement, a measure his office says will deliver more than $1 billion in tax cuts and relief.
Fantasy 5 tickets can be purchased at Georgia Lottery retailers or online, while Diggi games are exclusively online.

Tamil actor Ravi Mohan has launched his production banner, Ravi Mohan Studios, which is set to roll out 10 feature films in the next two years, including Mohan's directorial debut. The announcements were made at a launch event held in Chennai on Tuesday, August 26. It was graced by several top actors including Sivakarthikeyan, Karthi, Shivarajkumar, Karthi, Genelia and Riteish Deshmukh, SJ Suryah, Atharvaa Murali and others.

The maiden offering from Ravi Mohan Studios is a feature film titled Bro Code directed by Karthik Yogi, known for comedies like Vadakkupatti Ramasamy (2024) and Dikkiloona (2021). While SJ Suryah features in a key role, actors Sri Gouri Priya, Shraddha Srinath, Arjun Ashokan, and Malavika Manoj have also joined the ensemble cast.
Following Bro Code, Ravi Mohan is set to helm his first directorial venture, titled An Ordinary Man, which will mark the banner’s second feature production. The film will star Yogi Babu in the lead role, with production expected to begin soon.

In addition to these projects, Ravi revealed that eight more films are currently in pre-production, scheduled for release between 2025 and 2027 — one film in 2025, three in 2026, and four in 2027. The banner is also venturing into OTT content, with two fiction and two non-fiction projects lined up for 2026 and 2027.

On the music front, the studio announced plans to collaborate with 10 indie artists between 2025 and 2027, offering a platform to emerging talent and fresh voices.
Addressing the media, Ravi Mohan took a moment to acknowledge and clarify the negative press surrounding him, stating, “I have been facing some negative publicity in the recent past. There were even reports that my assets had been frozen. But when people asked me about this, I told them my assets are perfectly fine.”

Currently, Ravi Mohan awaits the release of Genie. He is also working on Parasakthi, directed by Sudha Kongara and starring Sivakarthikeyan.

The biggest lottery prize the UK has seen could still be won after Tuesday’s EuroMillions draw had no winners.
Friday’s jackpot will be an estimated £208 million and would be the largest prize awarded in the UK, National Lottery operator Allwyn said.
The total prize money has now been capped, meaning prize pots in the next winning tier will be boosted.
Any money in the next draw that would have gone into the jackpot will now boost prizes in the second tier, meaning multiple UK players could potentially bank large prizes for matching the five main numbers and one Lucky Star.
Andy Carter, senior winners’ adviser at Allwyn, said this Friday’s EuroMillions will be “even bigger”.
“Not only will we see the £208 million EuroMillions jackpot up for grabs – which would make the biggest-ever National Lottery winner – but there will also be an incredible 13 guaranteed UK millionaires made through EuroMillions Millionaire Maker,” he said.
“That’s a not-so-unlucky Friday 13th for the lucky ticket-holders who end up bagging these life-changing prizes.
“Get your tickets early to ensure you’ll be in with a chance of a massive life-changing win.”
He added: “The EuroMillions jackpot is now capped, so any money that would have gone into increasing the jackpot now boosts prizes in the next winning prize tier, meaning that we could see multiple UK players banking huge prizes for matching just the five main numbers and one Lucky Star.”
In Tuesday’s draw one UK player became a millionaire after matching five main numbers and one Lucky Star, winning £4.53 million.
The main EuroMillions winning numbers were 19, 36, 39, 40, 45 and the Lucky Stars were 05, 06.
One player won the £500,000 Thunderball jackpot by matching the five Thunderball numbers, 07, 15, 24, 25, 32, and the Thunderball number 04.
In Friday’s draw, seven players won the second-tier prize, entitling them to winnings of more than £2m each. A total of 18 ticket-holders correctly chose the main five numbers without a Lucky Star, a feat which could see them each collect more than £17,000.
An anonymous UK ticket-holder won the existing record jackpot of £195m on 19 July 2022.
Just two months earlier Joe and Jess Thwaite, from Gloucester, won £184,262,899 with a Lucky Dip ticket for the draw on 10 May 2022.
The UK’s third biggest win came after an anonymous ticket-holder scooped the £177m jackpot in the draw on 26 November last year, while the biggest this year was £83m in January.

Everyone dreams of becoming a millionaire – or even billionaire – but unless you think up the next big invention or company, the easiest way for you to secure a fortune is by playing the lottery.
While the lottery is easy to play, it’s far from easy to win.
The odds of winning a big prize in a lottery game such as Powerball or Mega Millions are roughly one in 300 million.
A crazy amount of things are more likely than winning the lottery, including being struck by lightning, becoming president, or even being hit by a meteorite.

While some players have scooped up jackpot prizes the old fashion way – by beating the odds and correctly guessing the numbers – others have become millionaires by hacking the lottery system.
The U.S. Sun spoke with Tim Chartier, professor of mathematics and computer science at Davidson College, about two distinct ways to “hack the system” when it comes to lotteries, in an exclusive interview arranged by casino.ca.
Chartier explained that the first method, taking advantage of the lottery’s “rolldown” feature, is relatively easy to implement – although it still requires intelligence, effort, and resources.
High school sweethearts Jerry and Marge Selbee from Michigan did just that, scoring millions of dollars.

“Jerry and Marge Selbee didn’t beat the odds, they figured them out,” Chartier told The U.S. Sun, explaining that they had taken advantage of the structure of winnings.
Jerry, a math fanatic, was first intrigued by the lottery in 2003 when he noticed that the new lottery game Cash Winfall had a unique feature called a “rolldown.”
Chartier detailed how, if the jackpot reached a certain amount and no one had won the top prize, the prize money would then “roll down” to lower-tier winners, significantly increasing the payouts of players who matched five, four, or three numbers.
“Recognizing this, the Selbees calculated that by purchasing large quantities of tickets during these rolldown periods, they could profit,” said the lottery expert.
Every time there was a rolldown in the Cash Winfall game, the couple would buy hundreds of thousands of tickets at two local convenience stores in Massachusetts.
They did that for years, spending roughly $600,000 per play, seven times per year.
The Selbees exploited similar opportunities in other lottery games across the US, applying the same mathematical principles to games with favorable conditions.

By hacking the lottery system using mathematics and probability, the couple took in an astounding $26 million from various state lottery games.
The Massachusetts State Lottery discontinued the Cash Winfall game in 2012 due to players such as the Selbees exploiting the rolldown feature.
However, some lotteries may still have similar features in their payout structures, such as by redistributing unclaimed jackpot money to lower-tier prizes.
A second, much more difficult way to hack the lottery, according to Chartier, is by taking advantage of imperfections in the system.
The lottery system was designed to be random with strict measures in place to uphold the integrity of the game.
For example, each ball in the Powerball game weighs roughly 80 grams and can only deviate from the standard by three-tenths of a gram, Chartier explained.
Additionally, the $55,000 Powerball drawing machines are stored in a locked vault that is kept under constant video surveillance.

Scooping up a jackpot prize in a lottery game such as Powerball or Mega Millions involves correctly guessing a series of numbers.
Many players swear by certain numbers, sticking with digits such as birthdays, anniversaries, or ages – but do these numbers statistically carry the luck that players believe they do?
According to Chartier, they do.
“I think a number is lucky if you have fun playing it and it improves your experience of winning,” he said.
“The big lotteries are, statistically speaking, a chance to dream of being a multi-millionaire or even billionaire. If playing a certain number heightens that experience, then yes!”
However, the lottery expert clarified that aside from the feel-good implications of playing your “lucky numbers,” no number is truly lucky when it comes to the lottery.
“All numbers are equally likely,” said Chartier.
He explained that even though all numbers are equally likely, some may seem to appear more often.
For example, rolling a six-sided die six times does not guarantee that you will roll each number exactly once.
No one is permitted to hold the balls due to security reasons, and they must be touched with gloves on to prevent dirt exposure.
The balls are retained in black briefcases to prevent exposure to light, and a random set is used each drawing, unknown to even lottery officials until 90 minutes before the scheduled drawing.
Despite the stringent procedures in place, Chartier admitted that lottery numbers are not entirely random, resulting in a higher probability of certain combinations.
For example, if the mixing process of the lottery balls was not perfectly uniform, certain balls may be more likely to appear.
Likewise, if one ball were slightly heavier or lighter than the others, it could have a different likelihood of being drawn.
In 1980, a group of players rigged the Pennsylvania Lottery by injecting weighted balls into the lottery machine, ensuring that only certain numbers could be drawn.
Although this instance involved tampering with the system, it highlights how flaws in the physical lottery system could theoretically be exploited.
However, hacking the lottery system using this method “is not easy to exploit in today’s world,” according to Chartier.
Modern lotteries have strict quality control measures in place to ensure randomness, such as standardizing the weight of balls and conducting repeated tests.
