CT Lottery Roundup: The Latest Big Winners From Across The State – Patch

CONNECTICUT — Here are the latest winners of $10,000 or more in assorted CT Lottery games and where the lucky tickets were acquired.
As of Oct. 1, 2025, the CT Lottery no longer publishes winners’ names without their written consent in accordance with Sec. 3(d) of Public Act 25-112.

The CT Lottery’s policy on announcing winners is designed to “protect” them from potential scams.
For years, the CT Lottery policy had been to show the full names of all those who cashed in tickets worth $10,000 or more as a matter of public record. It then went to winners having the option of applying for anonymity. Then, the CT Lottery included just first names and last initials while keeping the anonymity option available.

Now, it’s complete anonymity unless there is consent.

Unclaimed $1 million Mega Millions ticket set to expire in December – Fingerlakes1.com

Time is running out for someone in New York to claim a $1 million Mega Millions prize. The New York Lottery announced Friday that a second-prize ticket sold in Valley Stream will expire next month if the winner doesn’t come forward.
The ticket was sold at Cold Cut Express, located at 507 Dubois Avenue in Valley Stream, and matched all five main numbers in the December 13, 2024 drawing. The winning numbers were: 36, 43, 52, 58, 65, and Mega Ball 16.
Winners have one year from the date of the drawing to claim their prize. That deadline hits December 13, 2025 — now just weeks away.
Lottery officials are urging anyone who purchased a Mega Millions ticket in the area to check their pockets, wallets, drawers, or anywhere else an old ticket could be hiding.
If you believe you’re the winner, the New York Lottery advises:
The New York Lottery remains the most profitable in North America, contributing $3.6 billion in the last fiscal year to help fund education across the state.
But if no one comes forward, this particular $1 million prize will expire — and that money will go unclaimed.

The hunt is on for the one lucky EuroMillions winner who may be unaware they have grabbed the £208million jackpot.
The winning ticket in Tuesday’s EuroMillions draw was sold in Munster, Republic of Ireland, the National Lottery has confirmed.
A spokesperson said that the “eye-watering prize” ticket was purchased in a retail store, and a single-ticket holder scooped the 250m euro (£208m) jackpot in Tuesday’s draw.
The winning numbers in the draw, which had rolled over several times, were 13, 22, 23, 44 and 49, with lucky stars 3 and 5.
This will be Ireland’s 18th winner of the EuroMillions jackpot and its largest win.
By Thursday morning, the winner had not yet come forward to claim the biggest-ever win.
In an online post, the Irish National Lottery said: “We can reveal the province where the 250 million euro winning ticket was sold… MUNSTER. Check those EuroMillions tickets.”
National Lottery spokesperson Emma Monaghan told RTE Radio: “Someone in Ireland is a quarter of a billion euro richer this morning.”
She said the ticket for the “eye-watering prize” was bought in a retail store.
“If at all possible stay calm, I know that might be easier said than done. Have a cup of tea and let it sink in.”
The EuroMillions jackpot was capped once it reached 250 million euros. The maximum amount was reached on Friday 6 June, with several rollover draws after where no one matched the five main numbers and two lucky stars.
In total, more than 92,000 players in Ireland won prizes in the EuroMillions and Plus games.
The last Irish winner of the EuroMillions jackpot was in February 2022, when a person won 30.9 million euro with a quick pick ticket they purchased at a service station in Ballina, Co Tipperary.

Winners in the Kerala state lottery must verify their ticket numbers against the results published in the official Kerala Government Gazette. According to the Kerala State Lotteries Department, prize claims must be submitted within 30 days of the draw date.
Winners of the first and second prizes are required to surrender their tickets either in person or via insured registered post to the Director of State Lotteries. Alternatively, claims can be submitted through nationalised, scheduled, state, or district co-operative banks, along with the necessary documents.
Claimants must also provide valid identification, such as an Aadhaar or PAN card, when submitting their winning ticket.

Using herbs to treat Lyme disease, Bartonella, and Babesia – LymeDisease.org

Humans have been using plants for medicinal purposes since ancient times. Today, botanical herbal medicine is increasingly being integrated with modern allopathic medicine.
Recently, two experts in complex chronic illness reviewed the literature on which botanical medicines are most effective against three common vector-borne diseases.
In their research, they reviewed over 400 academic articles that discussed herbal, botanical or nutraceutical treatment evidence against Borrelia, Bartonella and/or Babesia. (“Neutraceuticals” are therapeutic substances derived from foods.)
The paper entitled The Use of Natural Bioactive Nutraceuticals in the Management of Tick-Borne Illnesses was written by Samuel Shor, MD and Sunjya Schweig, MD and published in the journal MDPI: Microorganisms.
Importantly, the authors note whether these botanical medicines are active against the growing, stationary, and/or biofilm forms of the pathogens. In all, they list over 30 natural substances with efficacy against Borrelia, Bartonella and/or Babesia.
“One of the most groundbreaking findings of our previous research, in collaboration with Johns Hopkins, was that Cryptolepis sanguinolenta has in vitro activity against Borrelia and Bartonella, in addition to Babesia,” said the paper’s co-author Sunjya K. Schweig, MD, President and Director, California Center for Functional Medicine. (“In vitro” means in a test tube, compared to “in vivo,” which means in a living organism.)
Most antibiotics, including doxycycline, attack the growing form of the pathogen. However, many microorganisms, like Borrelia, will change form when threatened by antibiotics. They can transform into a slow-growing or dormant state which is more resistant to antibiotics. In addition, biofilms are notorious for causing treatment-resistant forms of infection.
Tick-borne diseases are typically treated with a limited number of medications prescribed by a healthcare provider. Doxycycline, the standard antibiotic used for Lyme disease, often fails to cure the illness, leaving 10-30% of patients who receive prompt treatment with residual symptoms. Left untreated or undertreated, the disease can progress to a chronic infection, making it even more difficult to cure.
There are many theories about the reasons for treatment failure in Lyme disease including: genetics, persistent infection, immune evasion, autoimmunity or immune dysregulation and physical damage to the systems of the body.
Regardless of the reason for persistent symptoms, the fact is patients simply want to get better. While evidence has shown that extended combination antibiotic treatment can be effective, not everyone has access to or can afford it.  As a result, many patients may explore complementary and alternative approaches, including the use of botanical medicines and nutraceuticals.
In this age of growing antibiotic resistance, many healthcare professionals try to limit their use of antibiotics. To aid in healing, and even to boost the efficacy of antibiotics, many clinicians have learned to use botanical medicines.
“We use many botanical medicine protocols for Lyme and other tick-borne diseases but also for gut issues, adrenal and hormone issues, inflammation, cardiovascular diseases, health optimization and longevity, and so much more,” said Dr. Schweig. “These can be used as standalone protocols or layered/combined with prescription medications as needed and appropriate.”
Over the past three years, researchers including Dr. Schweig have published studies showing herbal medicines that kill these common pathogens in the laboratory including:
Here is a short list of the above-mentioned botanicals, showing which bacteria they are effective against, as well as if they hit the active (A), stationary (S) or biofilm (B) form of Borrelia or Bartonella. For Babesia, a parasite, the list simply indicates whether the substance is effective (X) or not.

Of note, four of the above—Cryptolepis, black walnut, Japanese knotweed, and Chinese skullcap—were shown to be more effective in a test tube against Borrelia burgdorferi than commonly prescribed antibiotics.
Dr. Schweig says, “It is my hope and belief that botanical medicines will continue to help people recover from multiple chronic illnesses, including tick-borne diseases, improve treatment outcomes, decrease side effects of treatment, and prevent relapse. With more research, including animal studies and eventual human studies, I hope that we will continue to discover optimal protocols.”
It is crucial to note that while some studies have shown promising results in vitro or in animal models, human clinical trials for botanical treatments in Lyme and tick-borne diseases are still needed.

Mega Millions jackpot soars to $900M for Tuesday, 11/11/25 live drawing – ABC7 New York

NEW YORK (WABC) — The Mega Millions jackpot continues its march towards the $1 billion mark!
No ticket matched all six numbers drawn Friday night.

The estimated jackpot for the next drawing on Tuesday, November 11, is a whopping $900 million ($415.3 million cash)!
Friday's drawing will be the 38th drawing since the jackpot was last won in Virginia on June 27.
It's the eighth-largest jackpot since the game began in 2002, and only the third time the jackpot has reached this level since the current game record of $1.602 billion was won in Florida on August 8, 2023.
The jackpot has been growing since it was last won in Virginia on June 27.
Tickets are $5 each and include a randomly assigned multiplier, multiplying the base prize levels by 2X, 3X, 4X, 5X or 10X. Half of the proceeds from the sale of each Mega Millions ticket remains in the state where the ticket was sold, where the money supports designated good causes and retailer commissions.
The overall odds of winning any Mega Millions prize are 1 in 23; the odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 290,472,336.
Mega Millions is available in 45 states, plus Washington, D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
