Friday’s (November 7) Mega Millions jackpot will be worth an estimated $843 million ($391.7 million cash option) after after zero players matched all six numbers during the $800 million ($371.7 million cash value) drawing on Tuesday (November 4) night.
The drawing will be the eighth largest in Mega Millions’ history and the 14th largest in U.S. lottery history. The Mega Millions jackpot reset after a single ticket sold in Virginia matched all six numbers during the estimated $348 million Mega Millions drawing on June 27, according to MegaMillions.com.
Friday’s drawing will take place at 11:00 p.m. ET and be the 38th consecutive drawing since the last Mega Millions jackpot, which is the longest streak without a winner since the game was launched in 2002, with the previous record of 37 drawings ending on the January 22, 2021 drawing worth $1.05 billion.
“While the jackpot remains elusive, the number of winners — and total prizes won — continues to grow,” lottery officials said via ABC News. “Through this jackpot run to date, there have been almost 11.7 million winning tickets at all levels, with total prizes exceeding $274 million thanks to significant enhancements in the lower-tier prizes after the game changed last April.”
A total 256 third-tier winning tickets ranging from $20,000 to $100,000 have been sold during the current Mega Millions run, according to lottery officials. The last prior jackpot winners included one player in Ohio winning the $112 million drawing on April 18; one player in Illinois winning the $349 million drawing on March 25; and one player in Arizona winning the $112 million drawing on January 17.

“In recent decades, cemetery visitors throughout France have expressed an interest in restoring a historic funerary monument in order to obtain a burial plot concession in return.”

Under the conditions, the lottery winners must restore the ancient funerary monument they buy within six months, with the new design “faithful to the original”. Once a monument is restored, they can acquire a burial spot not too far from the stars.
Candidates have to provide quotes from specialised stonemasons “to demonstrate that they are aware of the cost of the renovation, so there are no surprises,” said Paul Simondon, a deputy to Paris mayor Anne Hidalgo.
If the restoration and purchase conditions are not met, “the sale of the monument is cancelled and the buyer loses their investment,” the authorities warn.
The cost? Hefty.
Each existing tomb will be available to buy for €4,000 + restoration costs.
Then, burial plots are leased for a fixed term, or in perpetuity. A burial plot will set buyers back €976 for a 10-year lease; €3,354 for 30 years; €5,260 for 50 years; and €17,668 for perpetuity.
Still, these price tags and conditions haven’t spooked Parisians.
“Within the first 24 hours we had 1,000 clicks on the application forms,” Simondon shared with AFP.

So, for anyone currently living in Paris (applications are open only to residents of the French capital) and struggling to come up with an idea for the ideal Christmas gift, the applications are open until 31 December.

The 30 winners will be announced in January 2026.
