Solana could mirror Bitcoin’s success, says Bitwise CIO Matt Hougan.
Solana could mirror Bitcoin’s success by offering similar opportunities, according to Bitwise’s Chief Investment Officer, Matt Hougan.

The expert identified two drivers for the leading cryptocurrency. Its value could rise both from the overall growth of the store of value market and from an increase in its market share.
With the current market capitalization of the segment at $27.5 trillion, where digital gold accounts for 9%, maintaining this share while the overall market doubles would lead to a proportional increase in the asset’s price.
“Many investors mistakenly focus on Bitcoin’s market share growth, ignoring the expansion of the market itself. Over 20 years, the savings preservation sector has increased tenfold—from $3 trillion in 2005 to $27.5 trillion today. For the cryptocurrency’s price to increase tenfold, a repeat of this scenario while maintaining its current share is sufficient. This is quite realistic,” Hougan noted.
If the market grows further and Bitcoin captures 50% akin to gold, the price of one coin could soar to $6.5 million, he believes.
According to Bitwise’s investment director, the same logic applies to Solana. The blockchain platform is positioned as an infrastructure solution for stablecoins and the tokenized assets market. The latter has the potential for tenfold growth, the expert emphasized.
Currently, Solana competes with Ethereum, TRON, and other platforms. It holds about 14% of the sector, with a capitalization exceeding $107 billion. Meanwhile, its technological advantages—high transaction processing speed and growing institutional support—create conditions for increasing its share.
“Solana is a young platform but is already attracting major players. Recently, Western Union chose it for launching its stablecoin. If I’m right, the combination of a growing market and share will create an explosive effect for the cryptocurrency—just like with Bitcoin,” Hougan concluded.
Earlier, the expert predicted a rally for Solana to a new all-time high due to the emergence of exchange-traded funds based on the asset in the US. On October 28, the launch of a spot SOL-ETF by Bitwise under the ticker BSOL took place.
The following day, a similar instrument was introduced by Grayscale—GSOL.
In the initial trading sessions, the products attracted $154 million. The issuers manage assets worth $439 million—0.4% of Solana’s total supply.
The altcoin has yet to show a pronounced price trend. Over the past day, the SOL rate increased by 0.1%, while over the week it fell by 2.4%.
At the time of writing, Solana is trading around $186.
Analysts at Hyblock compared the coin’s reaction to Bitcoin’s behavior following the launch of spot BTC-ETFs in January 2024. They noted that the leading cryptocurrency remained in a sideways trend initially, but a breakthrough followed. A similar pattern could occur with Solana.
Earlier in October, Hougan called the asset a future favorite of Wall Street.

Pi Coin price today is trading near $0.273, attempting to stabilize after last week’s steep drop from the $0.33 region. Sellers remain in control below the EMA cluster, but upcoming network upgrades and stablecoin policy announcements could influence the next move.
The 4-hour chart shows PI trapped in a descending triangle breakdown, with price unable to reclaim the 20-EMA at $0.289. The 50- and 100-EMAs, clustered between $0.31 and $0.33, remain firm resistance barriers, while the long-term downtrend line continues to cap recovery attempts.
Immediate support lies at $0.260, where buyers have defended the lows since the sharp selloff. If this level fails, the next downside risk opens toward $0.24 and $0.22. On the upside, reclaiming $0.289 would be the first step for buyers to challenge $0.313 and $0.330, with $0.346 as the larger breakout level.

The RSI hovers near 29, indicating oversold conditions, but momentum has yet to show strong reversal signals. This reflects a fragile equilibrium where short-term relief rallies remain possible, but sustained upside requires stronger catalysts.

Sleep is something you really can’t live without. It’s crucial to your overall well-being, resetting your internal system so you can start fresh.
However, if you’re getting sleep, but you don’t feel rested, or the other way around, that could be a bad sign for your health.
Dr. Mohammad Jarbou, a pulmonary and sleep specialist with Hannibal Regional Healthcare System, believes sleep is one of the three pillars of health, along with wellness and nutrition.
Getting sleep is one of the most important things you can do for your body besides exercising and feeding it healthy food.
It enhances cognitive function, including problem-solving skills, as well as promotes cell repair, hormone regulation, and reduces stress and anxiety, among many other benefits.
Dr. Jarbou says those who lack sleep are more at risk for long-term problems.
It’s just as important while you sleep to get rest.
That rest is what helps the system recover and recharge, especially for the heart and the brain.
There’s a way sleep specialists like Dr. Jarbou figure out if you’re getting the needed rest while you sleep.
Not getting sleep or rest can really hurt your mental health, increasing stress and anxiety levels.
You also raise your risk of sleep disorders, like sleep apnea, where you’re not getting enough oxygen while you sleep, and insomnia, where it’s difficult to fall asleep or stay asleep in the first place.
Along with those risks, you are sure to experience fatigue throughout the day.
Many think caffeine can fix that, but Dr. Jarbou says to limit your morning cup of coffee to between 7 a.m. and noon.
Caffeine can stay in your body for anywhere from eight to 12 hours.
To make sure we're getting sleep and rest at the same time, Dr. Jarbou says all you need to do is make a routine and stick to it.
The main point is to go to sleep and wake up at the same time, seven days a week.
A lot goes into getting ready for bed as well, and Dr. Jarbou simplifies these tips into what he calls the "3-2-1" rule.
There are also important things to do when you wake up.
Dr. Jarbou says when you first wake up, get out of bed immediately and get some sun exposure – don’t lie around and then get up later.
As for your screens, like a phone or tablet, keep them out of your room altogether, if possible.
It’ll take time, but you’ll really start to feel the benefits if you stick to the routine.
Dr. Jarbou does recommend seeking medical evaluation by a sleep specialist if you follow these tips for a few weeks and are unsuccessful in getting restful sleep.

There’s nothing like a scary-good jackpot on Halloween.
Tonight’s Mega Millions drawing (Friday, Oct. 31) will be the 35th since a $348 million jackpot was hit on June 27 in Virginia. The drawing tonight is worth an estimated $754 million, putting it in the top 10 Mega Millions jackpots of all time.
But the Halloween jackpot may be unlucky.
“There has been a drawing on Halloween six previous times in Mega Millions history, but none of those produced a jackpot win on the ghostly day,” a press release from Mega Millions said.
If you dare to play, here’s what to know about tonight’s jackpot.
With the jackpot being an estimated $754 million, the cash payout would be $352.8 million.
At $754 million, the jackpot is the ninth largest in the history of the game.
It’s the largest jackpot since last December, when a California ticket won a $1.269 billion jackpot.
Drawings are conducted at 11 p.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays from Atlanta. You can watch them on the official Mega Millions YouTube channel.
If no one wins, the jackpot will continue to grow.
According to the game’s website, “Players may pick six numbers from two separate pools of numbers – five different numbers from 1 to 70 (the white balls) and one number from 1 to 24 (the gold Mega Ball) – or select Easy Pick/Quick Pick. You win the jackpot by matching all six winning numbers in a drawing. In the event of multiple jackpot winners, the jackpot prize will be shared.”
There are other prizes in addition to the jackpot. The smallest prize to win is $10.
Mega Millions tickets are $5 each and can be played in 45 states, Washington D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Tickets can be purchased until 10:45 p.m. on the night of a given drawing.
The Powerball jackpot for the Saturday, Nov. 1 drawing is an estimated $400 million, with a $190.7 million cash option.
Saturday’s Powerball drawing will be the 24th since the jackpot last hit Sept. 6, when tickets sold in Missouri and Texas split a $1.787 billion jackpot.
Powerball tickets are $2 each and can be purchased until 9:50 p.m. Saturday. Drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m.
