Aqra bil- Malti
Malta and Ghana are a considerable distance apart, one in the Mediterranean and the other in West Africa. Nevertheless, their collaboration goes back many years.
More than 60 years ago Francis William Brennan was sent from Malta to Ghana to enable the country to establish its National Lotto Department based on a Malta model.
Today this department has evolved to a considerable level and Brennan’s efforts to establish this important niche is still recognised today.
In fact amongst the events of his tour in Ghana, Malta President Dr George Vella visited the National Lotto Office where Brennan is still commemorated.
In other commitments in Ghana, President Vella visited the school The Little Explorers Montessori which also has very strong ties to Malta and was established there many years ago.
In his comments to TVMnews at the end of the first say of his visit, President Vella said the message of the visit emerges from his brief visit to the school, a message that is loud and clear.
He said that at this school, children of different nationalities live together, receive education together and among them there are no differences.
The President and his wife Madame Vella also visited the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum to commemorate the first President of Ghana after its independence, as well as his wife.
