In 31 years of marriage, Cheryl Bach and her husband never took their honeymoon, but a scratch-off lottery ticket changed those plans.
Bach won $1 million from the $10 Million Spectacular game after buying a ticket from Harris Teeter on Village Walk Drive in Holly Springs. Bach said she couldn’t believe her eyes when she won.

“I had to put my glasses on to make sure I was seeing it right,” Bach said. “I was shaking for the rest of the day.”
After taking some time to calm down, Bach said the first person she told was her husband.
“He didn’t believe me,” Bach said. “I had to take a picture and show him.”
Bach claimed her prize on Friday at the lottery headquarters, choosing to receive the prize as a $600,000 lump sum. After state and federal tax withholdings, she took home $430,514.
In addition to her honeymoon, Bach said she plans to use the rest of the winnings to pay some bills.
The $10 Million Spectacular game debuted in December 2023 with five top prizes of $10 million, 20 prizes of $1 million and 20 prizes of $100,000. Since the last $10 million prize has been claimed, the lottery has started the process of ending the game.
