September is Responsible Gaming Education Month, and Michigan Lottery is highlighting the availability of prevention, treatment, and recovery services in the state of Michigan.
As Responsible Gaming Education Month begins, the Lottery continues to remind players that the Michigan Problem Gambling Helpline is available to provide free, one-on-one support for players who may have a problem. For confidential help 24 hours a day, seven days a week, players may call 800-270-7117. Chat and text options also are available through www.michiganlottery.com.
“We want players to enjoy Lottery games responsibly, so we provide resources to assist them in keeping play fun and safe,” said acting Lottery Commissioner, Jessica Weare. “Lottery retailers have access to information on responsible gaming that can be shared with players who purchase Lottery products, and our online games feature several tools to help players ensure they are playing responsibly. Additionally, this month, we will send online players an email with tips on responsible gaming.”
Each year, the Lottery provides $1 million to the compulsive gaming prevention fund, which the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services uses to fund statewide education and treatment programs for problem gambling.

The Indiana Fever were not part of Sunday’s WNBA Draft lottery.
The league semifinalist Fever will pick 10th in the 15-team first round. The league adds the Toronto Tempo and Portland Fire expansion teams in 2026. The Tempo will pick sixth and the Fire seventh, after the five-team draft lottery.
After an extension of the expiring collective bargaining agreement, the draft lottery was allowed to take place as scheduled Sunday. The same can’t be said for the pending expansion draft, thus some teams do not yet know who will be on their teams for free agency.
The Fever still have a few players under contract for the 2026 season, including superstar Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston.
Here’s what to know about the WNBA draft.
The draft is scheduled for Monday, April 13, 2026.
The Fever hold picks 10, 25 and 40 — each the 10th pick of the three-round draft.
The lottery was scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Sunday. The five participants were the Dallas Wings, Minnesota Lynx (via Chicago Sky), Seattle Storm (via Los Angeles Sparks), Washington Mystics and Chicago Sky (via Connecticut Sun).
Picks 1 through 5 to be determined.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Although no one won the $632.5 million Powerball jackpot in the latest drawing on Saturday, Nov. 22, many players in Ohio took home a bit more cash.
The winning numbers for Powerball on Saturday were 28, 32, 36, 51 and 69. The Powerball was 2 and the Power Play was 2x.
Here is the full list of statewide winners and their prizes from Saturday’s drawing:
The odds of matching all five white balls and winning the $1 million prize are 1 in 11,688,053. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 292,201,338. The overall odds of winning a prize are 1 in 24.87.
The jackpot now climbs to $654 million for the next Powerball drawing on Monday, Nov. 24. The cash option is worth $303.2 million.

The Dallas Wings had a disappointing season in 2025, going 10-34 under first-year head coach Chris Koclanes, including a 1-11 stretch to start the year, and another 1-15 stretch from July 30th to September 7th. That's despite having last year's first overall pick, Paige Bueckers, having a historic first season.
Because of that, the Wings are under major changes. Kolcanes was fired in favor of Jose Fernandez, who spent the last 25 years at the University of South Florida. Any roster personnel changes start with the 2026 WNBA Draft, though.
The WNBA is holding its annual Draft Lottery on Sunday evening, and the Dallas Wings hold the best odds to land the first overall pick at 42%. The odds are based on the combined records of the last two seasons for the teams that missed the playoffs this year, and even though the Wings won the lottery last year, jumping the LA Sparks to do so, WNBA fans would much rather see the Wings win it again than see the team with the second-best odds win the lottery this year.

The Minnesota Lynx, who finished with the best record in the WNBA last year, received a first-round pick from the Chicago Sky in a trade for a 2025 first-round pick, which became Hailey Van Lith, and Van Lith couldn't really crack the rotation on a bad team last year. But adding a top pick to an already stacked team in Minnesota is not what people want to see. They have a 26.1% chance of winning the first pick.
The other three teams that have a chance at the first overall pick are the Seattle Storm (16.7%), the Washington Mystics (9.7%), and the Chicago Sky (5.5%). Seattle has this pick thanks to the LA Sparks, while the Sky received this pick in a trade in 2024 that sent Marina Mabrey to the Connecticut Sun.
In hopes of winning the first pick again, the Wings are sending Maddy Siegrist back to be the team's representative. It was clearly good luck last year, so hopefully she can land the top pick again. There isn't a Paige Bueckers-level talent as of yet, but people are high on UCLA's Lauren Betts and Spain's Awa Fam, both centers.
The WNBA Draft Lottery will be at 5:30 p.m. CST on ESPN, which should be about a 30-minute airing. The draft itself won't be until April 13th, assuming things like the new CBA don't push it back further.
