A lucky Powerball player in Indianapolis has won $100,000 in the latest lottery draw. The winning ticket was sold at a Speedway gas station on North Keystone Avenue, according to the Hoosier Lottery.
The winning ticket was purchased at the Speedway store at 5411 North Keystone Avenue. The ticket matched four of the five white balls and the red Powerball.
The prize for that match is normally $50,000, but the player added the Power Play option, which doubled the prize to $100,000.
The winner has not come forward yet, and the Hoosier Lottery is asking players who bought tickets there to check their numbers carefully.
The winning numbers for the draw were 5, 10, 20, 22, 28, and the Powerball was 6.
No one won the jackpot this time, so the top prize has rolled over again. The Powerball jackpot is now worth about $358 million, with a cash value of $163 million before taxes.
The next draw will take place on Monday, November 3, at 10:59 p.m. ET.
The $100,000 winner will need to claim their prize in person at a Hoosier Lottery office. Winners have 180 days from the draw date to come forward.
Lottery officials also remind players to sign the back of their tickets and keep them safe. This helps prove ownership in case the ticket is lost or damaged.
The Speedway store that sold the winning ticket will also get a bonus commission from the Hoosier Lottery.
Indiana has been lucky lately when it comes to Powerball wins. Several players across the state have claimed prizes worth $50,000 or more in recent weeks.
The state has also produced five jackpot winners since Powerball began, making it one of the luckier states for big lottery wins.
While the odds of hitting the jackpot are about 1 in 292 million, smaller prizes are often won, including ones worth thousands of dollars.
The Hoosier Lottery says that part of every ticket sale goes toward local and state programs. The money helps fund education and retirement benefits for teachers, police officers, and firefighters in Indiana.
So, even when players don’t win, their ticket purchase still supports their community.
With the jackpot now at $358 million, Powerball players have another chance to win big in the next draw.
Tickets cost $2, and adding Power Play for $1 can multiply non-jackpot prizes up to five times.
For one lucky person in Indianapolis, a normal day at the gas station turned into a $100,000 surprise. As the next draw approaches, everyone’s hoping that their ticket might be the next one to make history.

A doubled third-prize Powerball ticket worth $100,000 was recently sold in New York state, according to lottery officials.
The New York Lottery announced the winning ticket for the Aug. 10 drawing matched four white balls and the red Powerball.
It was sold at Smokes 4 Less, located at 59 North Plank Rd., in Newburgh, N.Y. The line around this cigar shop remains consistently wrapped around the store, as this hotspot for winning tickets has undoubtedly contributed to the buzz and anticipation.
When purchased, the winner opted for the $1 Powerplay feature that allows players to multiply a non-jackpot prize up to 10 times. It automatically doubled the third $50,000 prize to $100,000.
Winning numbers for the Aug. 10 Powerball drawing are white balls 9, 24, 33, 64, 69 and red Powerball 9.
The winning numbers for the Powerball game are drawn from a field of one to 69. The Powerball number is drawn from a separate field of one to 26. In order to win the jackpot, players must match all five white balls in any order and the red Powerball number.
Powerball tickets can be purchased at any New York Lottery retailer for $2, seven days a week. The deadline for purchasing a ticket is 10 p.m. on draw nights.

The temple committee of Maharashtra’s renowned Karveer Nivasini Mahalaxmi and Dakshinacha Raja Jyotiba temples in Kolhapur announced the implementation of a new dress code, effective Wednesday (May 14, 2025). The decision, made by the Paschim Maharashtra Devasthan Management Committee, aims to uphold the sanctity, purity, and tradition of these revered temples.
A notification issued by the committee outlines the dress code, mandating that devotees wear traditional and modest attire, including sarees, salwar-kameez, dhotar, and pajama-kurta. The committee has also stated that entry will be denied to individuals wearing revealing clothing, urging all devotees to comply with these guidelines.
Shivraj Naik, the Secretary of the temple committee, emphasized the importance of modest dressing. “Devotees should avoid wearing revealing clothes and, if possible, choose traditional outfits when visiting the temple. The guidelines have been issued to ensure that devotees dress modestly and respect the sanctity of the temple,” Mr. Naik said.
This move follows similar measures recently introduced at the Tulja Bhavani temple in Tuljapur, where the Maharashtra Mandir Mahasangh enforced a similar dress code to preserve the temple’s sanctity.
For those unaware of the dress code, the committee has made arrangements for traditional attire to be available at shops near the temple. Visitors can purchase sovala – a dhoti and uparna (shawl-like garment) for men, and sarees for women – before entering the temple.

He also revealed why you don’t need to wait for the $1bn jackpot to win life-changing money
A LOTTERY expert has revealed his triple-threat tips for any players hoping to win tonight’s $1 billion Powerball jackpot.
It comes after the grand prize of the Powerball Lottery surged to a staggering $1 billion on Friday.

Players had been gearing up for a jackpot of $950 million but soaring ticket sales meant lottery officials issued a last-minute announcement adding $50 million to the pot.
It is only the sixth time in over three decades that the jackpot has hit the billion dollar mark after no one won the $861 million prize in Wednesday’s draw.
As more people are expected to throw their hat in the ring for tonight’s jackpot, Jared James, the founder of Lotto Edge, spoke exclusively to The U.S. Sun about his biggest tips for players and why your lucky numbers might not be so lucky after all.
“With any lottery draw game, prior drawings have no bearing on future draws,” he said when asked how players can boost their odds for the draw.

Labor Day lottery ‘ban’ law will force players to change how they play
“However, at LottoEdge, we did a study of historical Powerball results and found three things we recommend to players.”
First, he recommends using the entire play slip, but you must pay close attention to the numbers you choose.
This is where ‘lucky numbers’ come in as they can limit your chances if they were picked using a common method.
Many players who have their own ‘lucky numbers’ get them from special dates that hold meaning in their lives, but this instantly puts players at a disadvantage.

“Playing only birthdays and anniversaries limits numbers up to 31,” James said.
“Less than 3% of drawings had all winning numbers 31 or below.”
“’Lucky’ and ‘unlucky’ numbers are really just a matter of personal belief,” he added.
“Lottery drawings are random, so no number has a built-in advantage.
“While it might look like certain numbers pop up more often, that’s simply chance at play.
“Over time, every number has the exact same odds of being drawn.”
Millions dream of winning the lottery and finding fame and fortune. These are the biggest winners in US lottery history.
This is why players should mix up the numbers and combinations they select and play the entire slip.
James’ second tip is “don’t pick numbers using a pattern”.
“Some players will draw patterns on their play slip. Randomly drawn numbers don’t follow patterns,” the lottery algorithm founder said.
And lastly, players should use a mixture of odd and even numbers.
“The best mix was three even and two odd or two even and three odd,” he said of Lotto Edge’s analysis of previous Powerball draws.
“About 64% of winning results had this mix of even and odd.”
With these tips in mind, Powerball players will have to wait until 10:59 pm ET for the draw to see if they have won the staggering windfall.
The estimated cash value of the prize is a whopping $453.1 million.
But if you want to win big you don’t have to wait for record-breaking jackpots, James says.
“Many people have come to believe that only time to play is when jackpots near record levels,” he explained.
“Winning $1bn is generational changing money. But so is $400 million or even $100 million.
“If you are playing to win life-changing money, you don’t need to wait for record setting jackpots.”
Meanwhile, he said that those who just want to win the lottery should move to scratch offs where you are more likely to bag a prize.
“With games such as Powerball, you’re trading astronomical odds for chance to win monumental prizes,” he said.
“The game doesn’t have great odds to win smaller prizes though.
“For example, to win $100 on Powerball, the odds are about 1 in 14,400.

LottoEdge did a study of historical Powerball results and found three things to recommend to players:
1. Use the entire play slip – Playing only birthdays and anniversaries limits numbers up to 31. Less than 3% of drawings had all winning numbers 31 or below.
2. Don’t pick numbers using a pattern – Some players will draw patterns on their play slip. Randomly drawn numbers don’t follow patterns.
3. Mix even and odds numbers – The best mix was three even and two odd or two even and three odd. About 64% of winning results had this mix of even and odd.

The Maine Lottery offers several games for those aiming to win big.
You can pick from national lottery games, like the Powerball and Mega Millions, or a variety of local and regional games, like the Pick 3, Pick 4 and Gimme 5.
While your odds of winning a big jackpot in the Powerball or Mega Millions are generally pretty slim (here’s how they compare to being struck by lightning or dealt a royal flush), other games offer better odds to win cash, albeit with lower prize amounts.
