A New Jersey lottery player won a $1.8 million Jersey Cash 5 jackpot on Saturday, Nov. 1. It’s the 55th time the lottery game has been won in 2025.
The New Jersey Lottery announced that a ticket sold online through Jackpocket matched the five numbers to win the $1,822,957 prize. The retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
The Jersey Cash 5 winning numbers for Nov 1 were: 04, 20, 28, 35 and 40. The XTRA was 02 and Bullseye was 40.
In addition to the jackpot, 50 players matched four out of five balls and the Bullseye to win $500 in Saturday’s drawing.
It is the second jackpot to be won in the state through the online courier Jackpocket in a week. On Oct. 25, the $22 million Pick-6 jackpot was won through the third-party app.
The $22 million prize was the largest won in New Jersey through a lottery courier.
New Jersey was the first state to license lottery couriers following a 2016 law and Jackpocket was the first one.

A man has been jailed for five years after admitting to a series of thefts from ederly victims in their own homes by posing as a lotto salesman.
Chris Farrugia, who had just left prison after serving time for similar offences, pleaded guilty to robbing six individuals, many of them elderly, on May 15. The victims, aged between 52 and 95 years, live in Mosta, Mġarr, Birkirkara, and Mellieħa.
During his arraignment in 2021, the police had said the man used to knock on doors, claiming he was raising money for the missions or selling lottery tickets. He then robbed the residents when they went in to fetch their purse.
Just days after being released from prison, Farrugia returned to his old habits. Police identified him based on victim descriptions and arrested him in Mellieħa while he was knocking on doors. Stolen items were later recovered from his home in Żabbar.
The man initially pleaded not guilty to the charges, which also included allegedly posing as a lotto salesman and the unlicensed sale of lottery tickets. He was further charged with molesting victims by begging for alms, leading a vagrant and idle life, and recidivism.
Last month Farrugia changed his plea to guilty and reconfirmed it in court.
Magistrate Astrid May Grima sentenced Farrugia to five years in prison and issued a three-year treatment order to help him overcome his drug addiction. 
He was ordered to pay €675.90 in court expenses.

Haridwar, Jul 17 (PTI) During the ongoing Kanwar Yatra, flowers were showered on Shiva devotees from a helicopter in Haridwar on Thursday and Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami honored them by washing their feet.

Thousands of Kanwariyas are coming to Haridwar to collect water from Ganga river every day. On the instructions of the chief minister, Kanwariyas were welcomed in the city by showering flowers on them from a helicopter.

Dhami reached here and honored the Kanwariyas by washing their feet. He garlanded the devotees and offered them fruits.

The CM said that he is fortunate to get the opportunity to serve and honor the devotees of Lord Shiva and said that this is a very sacred, mythological and difficult journey in which Shiva devotees come here to take holy Ganga water by traveling hundreds of kilometers on foot and after reaching their destination on foot, they perform Jalabhishek of the lord.

“It is a matter of pride for us that we are welcoming and honoring them by washing their feet. We pray to Lord Shiva for a safe and smooth journey of the Kanwariyas,” he said.
