Unfortunately, stories about elderly people being scammed or taken advantage of isn't uncommon, but a Missouri police department is teaching locals how to recognize and avoid those scams in a unique way.
The Canton Police Department paid nursing home residents a visit Friday with a game of "Fraud Bingo." The game was used as a way to teach players practical tips for avoiding scams. The police department shared pictures of the visit on its Facebook page.
Chief Tycher Blakely donated a full Thanksgiving dinner to the winner and thanked residents for the opportunity. He says they look forward to participating in more community events.
