PHOENIX — The holiday weekend brought plenty of luck to the West Valley, thanks to big Arizona Lottery wins.
Three metro Phoenix residents scored prizes, but the biggest went to a shopper at a Safeway in Surprise, who hit the $1.47 million Triple Twist jackpot in Sunday’s drawing.
The winning numbers were 12, 17, 18, 19, 41, and 42. With the Triple Twist jackpot claimed, it resets to $200,000 for Monday night’s drawing.
Triple Twist is a daily game offered by Arizona Lottery, where players select six numbers between 1 and 42 after purchasing a ticket for $2. Each jackpot starts at $200,000, and the odds of selecting a winning ticket are roughly 1 in 5.2 million.
Santa Claus must have blessed that Safeway near Peoria Avenue and Cotton Lane, because another winning ticket was sold there, too.
One shopper picked up a Powerball ticket worth $50,000 — and with the addition of the 3X Power Play, their total winnings jumped to $150,000.
Yet another West Valley shopper struck it big in the holiday weekend drawings.
A Safeway customer in Wickenburg bought a winning Powerball ticket worth $50,000. Just like the Surprise shopper, their total winnings climbed to $150,000 thanks to the Power Play.
The winning Powerball numbers in Wednesday’s drawing were 7, 8, 15, 19 and 28, with a Powerball of 3.
Powerball drawings are held Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, with entries running $2 a pop.
The winner of each Arizona Lottery game has 180 days from the drawing to claim their prize.

Three Powerball tickets worth $50,000 each were purchased in New Jersey for Monday’s lottery drawing.
Two of the third-prize tickets were sold in Bergen County, while one was bought by a player using the Jackpocket app.
The two tickets sold in stores were purchased at a 7-Eleven in Fair Lawn and a Fuel 4 in Fort Lee, lottery officials said. The exact locations of the stores weren’t immediately available.
Each third-prize ticket matched four numbers plus the Powerball.
Monday’s winning numbers were: 5, 18, 26, 47 and 59. The Powerball drawn was 1 with a Power Play of 3x.
No one won Monday’s $745 million jackpot, pushing the top prize for Wednesday’s drawing to an estimated $775 million with a cash option of $362.5 million.
In addition, three second-prize tickets, each matching five numbers but not the Powerball were bought nationally. Tickets worth $1 million each were bought in Georgia and Illinois.
A ticket worth $501,453 was sold in California. California lottery prizes vary depending on ticket sales and number of winners.
The odds of hitting the Powerball jackpot are more than 292 million to 1. A player who buys a $2 ticket has about a 1 in 11,688,053 chance of matching five numbers (but not the Powerball) and winning a second prize of at least $1 million.
Powerball drawings are held each Monday, Wednesday and Saturday in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Two beloved characters are set to arrive at Disney parks.
Disney announced Tuesday that Bluey and Bingo, the curious, sometimes mischievous and charming stars of the award-winning show “Bluey” will have a major presence at Disneyland Resort, Walt Disney World Resort and aboard select Disney Cruise Line sailings.
Experiences include character greetings and dance parties or maybe just a fun round of “Keepy Uppy.”
Beginning March 22, the world of “Bluey” comes to the Fantasyland Theatre in Disneyland, which will be transformed into Bluey’s school. Guests will get to see The Grannies, dance with Chattermax and eat favorite foods inspired by the animated series at Troubadour Tavern.
Throughout the day, Bluey and her sister Bingo will take the stage alongside a troupe of comedic actors and musicians to bring the best of the music and games from “Bluey” episodes to life.
“Get in on the family fun and dance along with the sisters, play fan-favorite games like Keepy Uppy, or go on adventures in a life-sized gnome village or fairy garden,” a news release said.

Beginning in summer 2026 at Walt Disney World, you’ll be able to take a fun excursion to Conservation Station in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, where you can play and dance with Bluey and Bingo.
“Play some of your favorite games from Bluey episodes with a fun animal twist, like butterfly keepy uppy,” a release said.
“Grab the whole family and snap some pictures alongside your Blue Heeler pals to remember this one-of-a-kind adventure. Plus, as part of your wild excursion, step outside to discover an experience with animals native to Bluey’s home country of Australia.”
Coming in 2026, the duo will also be on select domestic sailings for greetings, dance parties, and more. Guests can also stop by the Pyjama Bash for freeze dancing, interactive games, and a special character appearance.
You can also play Bluey and Bingo’s favorite games, including scavenger hunts and crafts.
“Bluey” the show follows the adventures of a Blue Heeler puppy, her family and friends and explores themes centered on family life and growing up.
Critics have praised the show for its modern and positive depiction of family life, constructive parenting messages, and the role of Bandit as a positive father figure.
Available in over 140 countries, ’Bluey’ was 2024’s most-watched series globally on Disney+. According to Nielsen Media Research, the show had more than 50.5 billion minutes watched in the U.S.

Did anyone win Monday night’s Powerball drawing for the estimated jackpot of $740 million?
The cash option for the Dec. 1 jackpot was $346.1 million.
Here’s what we know about the drawing on Monday, Dec. 1.
The winning numbers for the Nov. 24 drawing were 5, 18, 26, 47, 59 and the Powerball was 1. The Powerplay was 3X.
The estimated jackpot for this drawing was $740 million with the cash option of $346.1 million.
No ticket matched the numbers to win the jackpot or the Match 5 plus Power Play $2 million prize. Ticket sold in California, Georgia and Illinois won the $1 million Match 5 prize.
The next drawing is on Wednesday, Dec. 3. The estimated jackpot for this drawing has grown to $775 million with a cash value of $362.5 million.
Powerball drawings take place three times a week, every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. ET.
The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million.
The Powerball is played in 45 states, including Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky, and in Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. You do not have to be a U.S. citizen or U.S. resident to play Powerball.
You can purchase tickets at gas stations, convenience stores and supermarkets in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. Sales cut-off times vary by one to two hours before the drawing, depending on the selling jurisdiction.
You can also purchase tickets in Ohio through the Ohio Lottery website, www.ohiolottery.com.
A single Powerball ticket costs $2. Pay an additional $1 to add the Power Play for a chance to multiply all Powerball winnings except for the jackpot. Players can also add the Double Play for an additional $1 to have a second chance at winning $10 million.
To play, select five numbers from 1 to 69 for the white balls, then select one number from 1 to 26 for the red Powerball.
You can choose your lucky numbers on a play slip or let the lottery terminal randomly pick your numbers.
