
Five winning tickets were recently sold across the state, including three $50,000 Powerball prizes and two $9,512.50 Take 5 tickets, according to lottery officials.
The New York Lottery announced that for the April 12 Powerball drawing, three third-prize tickets worth $50,000 each were sold in New York.
One ticket was sold at a BP station, located at 205 Lowell Ave., in Central Islip.
Another ticket was sold at Walmart Supercenter, located at 341 State Route 104, in Oswego.
Oswego is roughly 30 miles north of Syracuse.
The final ticket was sold at Wegmans, located at 2301 Lyell Ave., in Rochester.
Rochester is roughly 60 miles east of Buffalo.
The winning Powerball numbers for that drawing were 16, 22, 44, 45, 53, and Powerball 19.
The New York Lottery announced that in the April 12 Take 5 Midday drawing, two top-prize winning tickets worth $9,512.50 were sold.
The first ticket was purchased at Conduit Gas & Mart, located at 586 Conduit Blvd., Brooklyn.
The second ticket was purchased at Speedway, located at 3694 Albany Post Rd., in Poughkeepsie.
The winning Take 5 numbers were 1, 6, 7, 31 and 35.
Take 5 numbers are drawn from a field of 1 through 39. Drawings are televised twice daily at 2:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Lottery draw game prizes may be claimed up to one year from the date of the drawing.
The winning numbers for the Powerball game are drawn from a field of one to 69. The Powerball number is drawn from a separate field of one to 26. In order to win the jackpot, players must match all five white balls in any order and the red Powerball number.
Powerball tickets can be purchased at any New York Lottery retailer for $2, seven days a week. The deadline for purchasing a ticket is 10 p.m. on draw nights.
Drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 11 p.m., and the New York Lottery urges players to buy tickets early to avoid last-minute lines.
