£157 million up for grabs as EuroMillions jackpot rolls over to Friday – Yahoo News Canada

Manage your account

An estimated £157 million is on offer in the EuroMillions jackpot on Friday, a win which would be the biggest for any UK player this year.
The National Lottery EuroMillions winning numbers for Tuesday were 6, 11, 17, 35, and 44, and the lucky stars were 3 and 7, however, nobody managed to claim the top prize.
The Thunderball numbers were 23, 25, 32, 35, 38, and 3.
If someone in the UK matches all seven numbers on Friday’s draw, it will be the seventh biggest National Lottery winner of all time.
Andy Carter, Senior Winners’ Advisor at Allwyn, operator of The National Lottery, said, “What an exciting time for EuroMillions players as Friday night’s jackpot will be an incredible estimated £157M.”
To win the jackpot, a player must match all five numbers plus the two lucky stars, which will be drawn at 8.45pm on Friday.
“Playing any National Lottery game is more than just a chance to win; it’s a way to contribute to something much bigger. Each week, players help generate around £30M for National Lottery-funded projects,” Mr Carter said.
The most recent EuroMillions jackpot was won on 10 October, when a lucky UK player took home £25,701,358.
The largest EuroMillions win ever in the UK stands at £195M jackpot, and 19 UK players have won prizes of more than £100m in its history.
In August, a ticket holder from France became the third player in 2025 to win a EuroMillions jackpot of €250m, an estimated £210m, which equalled the records set in Ireland and Austria earlier this year.

SECURE YOUR TICKET FOR THE 2025 SPORTS DIRECT WOMEN'S FAI CUP FINAL
It has been quite the season already for Alban Hysa's side who finished as runners-up in the All-Island Cup and have been quite impressive in the SSE Airtricity Women's Premier Division. Now, they have a shot at securing glory on Sunday, October 19th in Tallaght Stadium.
A 2-0 victory over Treaty United in the Semi-Finals propelled Bohemians to this grand stage but they have been building towards this moment with Hysa establishing a good blend of youth and experience in the squad and encouraging a style of play that maximises their speed and skill.
Led by captain Rachael Kelly – who is one of the finest goalkeepers in the women's domestic game – and backed up by stalwarts like Lisa Murphy, Katie Lovely and Fiona Donnelly, The Gypsies are a tough team to break down defensively and they use the ball well to set their attacking talent free.
When in full flow, Bohemians are a joy to watch with Sarah McKevitt, Hannah Healy, Aoibhe Brennan, Kate McCann, Leiagh Glennon, Hannah O'Brien, Katie Malone and Alannah McEvoy proving to be their main threats up top. They have players all around the pitch who can wreak havoc and finish when in front of goal – something which Athlone Town will be fully aware of.
There have been 24 different winners of this competition. Can Bohemians make history to become the 25th?

Massachusetts Player Claims $100K in Latest Mass Cash Draw – This Week in Worcester

radio-worcester

In Massachusetts, a local player has won $100,000 playing the Mass Cash lottery draw. The win is one of 236 prizes won, worth $600 or more. On Saturday night, after buying their ticket at a convenience store in Essex County, the winner matched five numbers in the lottery draw.
The winning ticket was bought from Middleton’s Fast Freddie’s Mobil at 256 South Main Street. The winning player matched the numbers: 4, 8, 15, 18, and 27. The state lottery reports that matching all five numbers carries odds of about one in 324,632. The identity of the winner always stays private unless the winner decides otherwise; in this case, it hasn’t been made public. The winner’s decision to keep their name private follows a common choice in the state.
Players can now take part in lots of different ways; there is a wide range of weekly and instant-win games that are in high demand. Some of the top player favorites from the online gambling sector work in the same way, allowing accessibility to play. These games provide real money prizes in a more accessible format than we have seen in the past. There are many types of games, and there are many types of winners. Mass Cash started in 1991, with just evening draws, then expanded to include a midday draw this year. Other state games produced some big wins over the last few years. A $1 million win with a ten-dollar instant game in 2024, and Paul Corcoran in Fitchburg, who claimed two separate $1 million prizes after accidentally buying two tickets for the same Powerball drawing in July.
The types of games and their popularity have changed massively since their beginning in 1972. The Massachusetts Lottery held the first draw on April 6 at Faneuil Hall in Boston. 4,783,000 tickets were sold for the first drawing of The Game. In 1974, the first state lottery started to sell scratch tickets alongside its weekly games. Scratch tickets now make up around 65% to 70% of all lottery sales. This is an example of how player habits have changed. It was required in earlier games that players had to check newspapers or watch TV to see results. Players today can view the winning results easily online.
In Massachusetts, millions of tickets are sold each week. Residents follow the daily results, and some players track previous draws to spot patterns in number choices. These habits show how deeply the lottery sits within everyday life for many people across Massachusetts.
The store that sold the winning ticket is known and will receive a retailer bonus. Extra income for local businesses created by these bonuses leads to an increase in foot traffic once the win becomes public. Retailers often see a wave of interest after selling a major winning ticket. Some players may visit that store in hopes of buying their own lucky ticket. Others stop by out of curiosity. A single winning ticket can lift the awareness of a store location for weeks, and 95% of lottery ticket buyers purchase at least one additional item when visiting the store. This retailer’s bonus helps small stores by providing a helpful financial boost.
The weekend win shows the steady role these daily games play in Massachusetts. People follow them because the results come fast and the format stays simple. This $100,000 prize joins many others that have been awarded over the years and adds one more entry to the game’s record. Wins like this also remind people how long the game has been part of the state’s routine. Regular players watch for these updates, and each new winner adds to the long list of past prizes.
