Louisiana Lottery Confirms State-Sold Ticket Wins $3.9 million – 97.3 The Dawg

(Baton Rouge, LA) Fans of lottery games in Louisiana, check your tickets, we have a new multi-millionaire in the state. The Louisiana Lottery has confirmed that a lottery ticket sold for one of Saturday's drawings scored a jackpot prize of $3.9 million.
We also know where that huge lottery winner was sold in the state. But first, let's bring you up to speed on the latest drawing from the Louisiana Lottery.

The multi-state lottery game Powerball held one of its three weekly drawings last night. Louisiana is one of 45 states, along with Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, that participate in Powerball drawings.
Powerball has been available in Louisiana since 1995, and the state's lottery players have fared well with the game.  The state has produced 17 different jackpot winners. The largest payout on a state-sold ticket happened in 2017 when a ticket sold in Eunice matched all the numbers needed to claim a top prize of $191.1 million.
Oddly enough, the other multi-state lottery game that is played in Louisiana, Mega Millions, has never produced a jackpot winner in the state. I guess that could happen tonight since we do have a Mega Millions drawing. By the way the Mega Millions estimated top prize tonight is $70 million.
But last night, the focus was on Powerball and the chance to win $655 million for the annuitized jackpot or $303.8 million for the cash payout. Here is how that Powerball drawing unfolded.
Our sources at Powerball confirmed that no tickets sold across the game's footprint matched the numbers needed to win the jackpot prize. There was a Match 5 Million winner sold in Illinois. A "Match 5 Million" refers to the million-dollar prize a ticket earns by matching all of the white balls but missing the red Powerball's number.
In reviewing the Louisiana Lottery winner's data from Monday's Powerball drawing, it appears that approximately 5,000 tickets, possibly a little less than that, were winners, which means those tickets at least earned their cost back for the player.
The majority of Powerball wins in Louisiana were Powerball matches that returned $4 on a $2 ticket. The second largest payout category was Powerball with Power Play, which returned $8 to players who purchased that scenario.
If you'd like to check your Powerball numbers, here they are for November 24, 2025.
08   16   26   30   58   Powerball 14    Power Play x2
If you have matching numbers on your ticket, you'll want to verify that ticket via the Louisiana Lottery Winner's Portal at the official website. You can also get prize redemption information there.
The next Powerball drawing will be Wednesday night for an estimated annuitized jackpot of $681 million. If you win and take the cash payout, you're looking at $315.7 million. Lotto from the Louisiana Lottery will also draw on Wednesday; the top prize in that game is $500,000 after Saturday's jackpot win.
If you did not see, Lotto from the Louisiana Lottery got a jackpot winner after month and months of building the jackpot. The Lotto top prize was confirmed to be $3,905,837.00. The winning ticket was purchased in Metairie at the One Stop Shop on Airline Drive.
As of now, the winner has not come forward to claim their prize. Other unclaimed lottery wins include three $50,000 Powerball winners, a $223,000 Easy 5 winner, and a Louisiana Jackpot winner valued at $154,875. The ticket with the shortest amount of time remaining still has 98 days to be claimed, so there's no huge rush.
Unless you've got a lot of mouths to feed this Thanksgiving, then you might choose to spend some of your winnings on these. If you do, invite me, please.

Traverse City restaurants cancel D-J Bingo nights amid gambling concerns – 910News.com – 910news.com

TRAVERSE CITY — Restaurants in Traverse City have stopped offering D-J Bingo nights because of a warning from state regulators.
Even though they’re putting an end to the games, local deejays say they haven’t broken any laws. And the situation has left them with more questions than answers.
Bill Schramm is the local representative for D-J Bingo. He says music nights have turned into a real highlight for the restaurants and bars that offer it.
“You know, some people literally look forward to this all week,” Schramm said.
But now, officials with the Michigan Liquor Control Commission have approached local restaurants, telling them bingo might be against the law.
“Basically, what the commission is saying,” Schramm said. “Or the investigator that I spoke with from the commission, is that the amount of time that the guest spends inside the restaurant is considered the value or monetary contribution needed to meet consideration in the three elements of gambling.”
That announcement led to canceled bingo nights at restaurants like That’s a Pizza in Traverse City.
The d-j’s who run the program say they were surprised at the interpretation because time does not automatically equal money.
“It is 100% free to play the game,” Schramm said. “Like, you can go into the restaurant and buy food and drinks and play the game, or you could choose to sit there and drink water and not buy food or anything, not spend a dime. ”
A case similar to this has already been brought to court. In 2021, the commission ruled that bingo nights like this were legal, and the charges were dropped.
“They decided with prejudice,” Schramm said. “Which means that it should forward to future decisions. When a decision is made without prejudice, then it’s not, you know, forward. It’s not able to be applied forward.”
Nine and Ten News reached out to the director of the control commission. Although he was not familiar with the Traverse City situation, he did say there have been no major rule changes regarding illegal bingo since the 2021 case.
Restaurant owners will be meeting this week to discuss the allegations of illegal gambling and work on their response.
But in the meantime, DJs like Schramm are left with more questions than answers.
“I don’t understand why anyone would want to take away something that helps people connect, Schramm said. “Especially on something like music. It’s a common interest that everybody has, and bringing people together through music is a beautiful thing.”

Powerball jackpot climbs to massive $654 million as players wait to see if the next big winner will be from Illinois – primetimer.com

Type keyword(s) to search

The Powerball jackpot has reached a huge amount again, and many people across the country are excited to see if someone finally wins it. As we move into Monday night’s draw, the jackpot now stands at $654 million, which is one of the biggest jackpots of this year. The cash value for this prize is $303.2 million if someone chooses the lump-sum option.
The jackpot has been growing for weeks. No one has matched all the winning numbers in the recent draws, so the prize keeps getting bigger. This new amount is also about $70 million more than last week’s drawing, which shows how fast the jackpot can rise.
In the latest Saturday drawing, nobody won the top prize. However, two players from Georgia and Oklahoma matched all five white balls and won $1 million each. They missed only the red Powerball.
Even with these big wins, the jackpot itself rolled over once again. If the next few drawings also go without a winner, the prize could soon enter the list of the top ten biggest Powerball jackpots in history.
The most recent grand prize that was won was the huge $1.8 billion jackpot on September 6, 2025. Two players, one from Missouri and one from Texas, shared that massive amount.
Powerball drawings take place every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. ET. The draw happens at the Florida Lottery studio in Tallahassee and can be watched live online. Many players tune in just to see the winning numbers flash on the screen, hoping their ticket matches.
The rules are simple: to win the Powerball jackpot, a ticket must match all five white balls in any order and the red Powerball. Even if you don’t match everything, there are still smaller prizes for matching fewer numbers. Powerball has nine different ways to win, starting from $4.
Winners can choose either the annuity, which is paid out over 29 years in 30 payments, or they can take the lump sumcash amount.
Like always, the odds are tough. The chance of winning the jackpot is 1 in 292,201,338. The odds of winning $1 million are 1 in 11,688,053.52, and the odds of winning $50,000 are 1 in 913,129.
Even with these long odds, millions try their luck every week, hoping they’ll be the next big winner.
Here are the Top 10 Powerball jackpots ever recorded:
As players prepare for Monday’s drawing, many in Illinois and around the U.S. are hoping the next big winner could be them. For now, everyone will have to wait and watch what happens next.
