Music bingo draws crowds to Long Island bars and restaurants – Newsday

For the past five years, Christa Lucarelli has been playing music bingo at 317 Main Street in Farmingdale.
The bingo nights have become a family tradition. Lucarelli now attends with her son, who shares the joy of the classic game with a musical twist.
"He’s 25 and he’s autistic. He absolutely loves them. The gentleman that runs them is so good with my son, Jimmy. We go to almost every one," says Lucarelli, 56, who lives and works in Farmingdale, where she’s director of the public library.
Jimmy typically dresses for the event in a music-themed shirt, and Lucarelli brings a matching shirt for Ben-E (aka Ben Minelli), the DJ, to wear.
For the game, which takes place every other Wednesday night and typically draws more than 100 people, Ben-E will play 30-second clips from songs while their music videos also run on a big screen.

The titles of the songs then appear on the screen and everyone checks their bingo cards, which, instead of numbers or letters, are filled with song titles. The first person to fill out five squares in a row is the winner. The first game winner receives a $30 gift card to 317 Main; the second, a $40 gift card.

"It’s a really fun night out," Lucarelli says. "People are drinking, having a few cocktails, everybody starts singing. People can be up dancing, depending on the night and the group."

For ‘80s Bingo, people will often dress in neon outfits.
"A lot of times people go as a group to celebrate a birthday, a work night out. It’s great," says Lucarelli, noting that the nights she’s attended are typically sold out, including the Elton John and Billy Joel nights.
For Lucarelli, Wednesday nights are reserved for family, but on Sundays, she might play music bingo with one or more of her girlfriends.
"I’ve gone to the ones on Sunday: the boozy brunches. Those are wonderful, too," she says.
It’s challenging to find age-appropriate activities for her son, says Lucarelli.
"He can go there and be with adults, instead of taking him somewhere where the activity is geared toward his developmental age," Lucarelli says.

On Wednesday night at Daisy’s Nashville Lounge in Patchogue, JoeTheBingoGuy takes over the entertainment with country music-themed bingo.
"It’s fun," says Brian Adams, an owner of Daisy’s. "It fills the restaurant up, not so much the bar. People come in. We give little prizes out for people that get bingo. It’s a nice distraction. it’s a different thing to do on a slower night of the week."
Players can win an assortment of prizes, like beer coolers, cowboy boot candles and artwork. People who make a reservation for bingo for four or more receive complimentary skillet nachos.
"We’re going to keep doing it here and then there’s even been talk about maybe adding a night at the Miller Place Daisy’s as well," says Adams, referring to the second Daisy’s outpost, which opened last year.

Joe Milio, aka JoeTheBingoGuy, also hosts music bingo at other restaurants with bars.
"This is just my side hobby," says Milio, 26, who lives in Farmingdale and works in education. "I work from 9 to 5 during the day. This is a fun little thing for me."
Milio got the gig through his mom, who met thegentleman running music bingo at a Bay Shore bar.
"He said, ‘Have him give me a call.’ It ended up that I was doing it with the guy for a while, but he had some reasons that he had to step away from it, and I took it over," says Milio, noting in the two years he’s been running the events, he’s had to add an associate to help cover them.

Lots of people come back to play, week after week.
"It’s usually about half regulars and half new people who brush in and out," says Milio. The DJ keeps the music at a moderate volume so people can still talk to one another while they’re playing.
For those looking for music bingo turned up a notch, Bingo Loco, which is more like a game show, notes Ruby Staplehurst, who does marketing for the venue, is coming to Mulcahy's in Wantagh on Dec. 28.
It's traditional bingo, where people play two games with cards filled with numbers for various prizes, from a grand prize of a vacation to gag gifts.
"There’s a DJ and they’ll have things like a rave round where when a certain number comes up, a song comes on and there’s a ton of confetti and CO2 cannons," Staplehurst says. "It’s pretty unique. It’s not your mother’s bingo."

Powerball Winner: Did Anyone Win Wednesday's $516 Million Jackpot? – 1430 KASI

Photo: Getty Images
Saturday’s (November 15) Powerball jackpot will be worth an estimated $546 million after zero players matched all six numbers during the $516 million drawing Wednesday (November 5) night.
Results from Wednesday’s Powerball game are listed below:
NUMBERS: 29-39-43-51-65
POWERBALL: 23
POWER PLAY: 2x
Two players won the $1.79 billion Powerball drawing on September 6. Tickets purchased in Missouri and Texas matched all five white numbers and the red Powerball, resetting the next drawing to $20 million ($10.2 million cash value) for September 8.
Saturday’s drawing was the second largest jackpot in U.S. lottery history, behind only the $2.04 billion Powerball drawing on November 7, 2022. The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are reported to be 1 in 292.2 million, according to Powerball.com.
The jackpot winner was the first since one player won the $205 million Powerball drawing on May 31. The Powerball had previously reset after one player won the $167 million Powerball drawing on April 26.
One player in California matched all six numbers to win the $2.04 billion ($997.6 million) jackpot on November 7, 2022, the largest jackpot offered in U.S. lottery history, according to the official Powerball website. Powerball has had jackpots exceeding $1 billion six times.
Mega Millions games have also exceeded $1 billion seven times, which includes its largest offering, a $1.603 billion jackpot that was one by a player in Florida on August 8. Both jackpots increase during each following game until there’s a jackpot winning ticket matching all six numbers drawn, which includes the additional Mega Millions Gold Ball or Powerball in each respective game.

Raptors' Brandon Ingram on rise ahead of matchup with Cavs – CBS Sports

If not listed, please contact your TV provider.
The Toronto Raptors acquired Brandon Ingram in a trade with the New Orleans Pelicans nine months ago. The veteran small forward is delivering the impact they envisioned when making the deal.
Ingram and the Raptors will look to continue their hot stretch on Thursday when they visit Cleveland for the second time in a two-week span. Toronto beat the Cavaliers 112-101 in the NBA Cup opener for both teams on Oct. 31.
That victory was the catalyst for the Raptors winning five times in their past six games to move above .500 for the initial time this season. Ingram has been the driving force, as he is averaging 21.4 points, 6.2 rebounds and 4.0 assists on the season.
“I definitely got a couple more (gears) to go,” said Ingram, who missed the final four months last season with a left ankle sprain. He finally made his Raptors debut last month.
“Coming off this injury, I haven’t got my explosiveness back, but my teammates are making it easier for me. Hopefully, as I keep playing, I will get that back.”
Ingram has scored at least 20 points eight times in 11 games with his new club, including a 25-point performance on Tuesday in a 119-109 win over the Brooklyn Nets in New York. He made more headlines by greeting his girlfriend, popular rapper GloRilla, who was seated courtside.
It was much better publicity than the 10th-year pro received in Toronto’s previous contest on Saturday. Ingram was fined $25,000 by the NBA for spiking his water bottle, which subsequently struck a game attendant, during the Raptors’ 130-120 road loss to the Philadelphia 76ers.
The Raptors’ defense held Brooklyn to 39.5% field-goal shooting, and Toronto wound up with a 50-36 rebounding edge. Scottie Barnes grabbed 11 rebounds for the Raptors, and Jakob Poeltl had 12 points and 10 boards in his return from a one-game absence caused by a lower back injury.
“Jakob is doing great, but when you’re 7-feet tall, it’s not easy to have extra pop,” Raptors coach Darko Rajakovic said. “He’s still finding his reconditioning. I think he did pretty well.”
The Cavaliers are returning home after splitting back-to-back road games against the Miami Heat. Cleveland rallied for a 130-116 win on Wednesday despite resting both reigning Defensive Player of the Year Evan Mobley and All-Star Donovan Mitchell.
Jarrett Allen logged 30 points and 10 rebounds, powering the charge as Cleveland hit Miami with a 41-14 run that turned a 94-84 deficit into a 17-point lead late in the fourth quarter.
“J.A., he’s just J.A., you’ve got to love the guy,” Cavaliers point guard Craig Porter Jr. said. “He’s selfless and gives it his all every night.”
Porter was terrific off the bench, producing 19 points, nine assists, three steals and a career-high four blocked shots. Those contributions were big, as All-Star point guard Darius Garland was sidelined after re-injuring his left big toe on Monday in the Cavaliers’ 140-138 overtime loss to the Heat.
Garland, who missed the first seven games of the season after undergoing surgery on the same toe in June, was hurt when he became entangled with Miami forward Nikola Jovic on a drive to the basket. Cavaliers officials said they would update his status “as appropriate.”
Swingman Jaylon Tyson also is out indefinitely after sustaining a concussion in the first game at Miami.
“We felt like we had a lot of depth, so we never had a doubt,” Porter said. “Like (coach Kenny Atkinson) said, we’ve got 15 guys we pay on this team, and we’re paying them for a reason.”

Hyperliquid Halts Transactions Amid Meme Coin Manipulation Concerns – ForkLog

Hyperliquid suspends transactions over POPCAT manipulation concerns.
The decentralized exchange Hyperliquid has suspended deposits and withdrawals due to suspicions of price manipulation involving the meme coin POPCAT.
About 13 hours ago, someone withdrew $3M USDC from OKX and split it across 19 wallets.
Around 14:45 CET, he started longing millions worth of POPCAT, placing roughly $20M worth of buy orders at $0.21.
The combined long position grew to around $30M across those 19 wallets.…
— MLM (@mlmabc) November 12, 2025

According to on-chain analyst MLMabc, a trader may have deliberately targeted the platform.
Initially, an unknown individual withdrew $3 million USDC from the OKX exchange and distributed it across 19 wallets. The trader then began opening long positions on POPCAT, placing buy orders amounting to approximately $20 million at a price of $0.21. The total long position across the 19 wallets grew to about $30 million.
When the trader removed the “wall” of buy orders, his $20-30 million position was liquidated within seconds. The losses were transferred to the exchange’s liquidity provider (HLP), which lost $4.9 million. Later, the Hyperliquid team manually closed the position.
The analyst believes the trader intentionally sought to disrupt the perp-DEX, marking another such incident on the platform. In March, the exchange suffered from manipulations involving the meme token JELLYJELLY, resulting in unrealized losses of about $12 million for HLP.
According to The Block’s research director Steven Zheng, the incident highlights that Hyperliquid is not yet ready to compete with centralized exchanges. Despite its popularity, the platform faces numerous challenges.
Back in October, on the 28th, the price of HYPE on the decentralized exchange Lighter soared from $47 to $98 in just one minute.
