One of the most hyped Bitcoin treasuries is imploding.
Nakamoto Holdings, which merged with healthcare company KindlyMD in August, crashed more than 50% on Monday, just days after its PIPE shares unlocked last week, allowing insiders to dump their stock on the market.
Shares for Nakamoto are down 96% from its May peak. Today, they trade at $1.50.
The collapse marks the first major blowup in the Bitcoin treasury boom that’s seen over 170 companies pile into the trade.
“Hoe-Lee-Smokes. The crypto treasury narrative has been annihilated,” wrote renowned crypto trader, Scott Melker, in his Tuesday newsletter.
“KindlyMD didn’t just crash and burn yesterday; it went down in scorching hot flames that would make a July 4th fireworks show in NYC look like four kindergartners playing with sparklers,” added Melker.
It’s the sharpest single collapse yet in the corporate Bitcoin boom — and it highlights a dismal reality for Bitcoin treasuries.
One in three of the more than 170 firms in the sector now trade below the value of the Bitcoin they own. Some are even resorting to accounting gimmicks to avoid delisting from the New York Stock Exchange.
The killer blow came from the PIPE unlock.
A Private Investment in Public Equity allows select investors to buy shares at a fixed price before those shares can trade freely on the open market.
In Nakamoto’s case, insiders bought shares at $1.12. They then watched the stock rocket to about $34 in May, and began to sell off their stock.
When the PIPE unlocked last Friday, all hell broke loose.
David Bailey, Nakamoto’s head honcho who helped Donald Trump embrace cryptocurrency as part of his presidential campaign last year, rushed to calm the panic.
In a late-night letter to shareholders, he called the volatility “not unusual,” even as the stock was down more than 90% from its peak.
Bailey framed the collapse as part of “establishing our base of aligned shareholders.”
He even urged “those shareholders who have come looking for a trade” to exit.
The timing exposes the absurdity of the pump.
KindlyMD announced the Nakamoto merger May 12, but didn’t complete it until mid-August. Moreover, the firm didn’t buy its first Bitcoin until late August.
But Nakamoto surged anyways — as much as 2,700% at one point, mainly based on what might happen, and not actual Bitcoin holdings.
Still, KindlyMD, did purchase 5,765 Bitcoin worth about $665 million, and is now the 16th largest corporate Bitcoin holder, according to BitcoinTreasuries.
They are part of a growing trend of corporations adding Bitcoin to their balance sheet — and calling it a business model.
Right now, over 1 million Bitcoin sits in corporate coffers.
In June, Bailey was on a podcast bragging about the treasury gold rush.
“Our worst investment we’ve made is up like 3x, and our best investment we have made is up like 200-something x,” he said on the June 13 podcast with two crypto influencers.
Asked if he’d make a billion dollars, Bailey responded: “We’re going to make a lot more than that.”
He even outlined plans to launch treasuries in “every capital market on the planet,” rattling off countries as if he was reading from a map: Saudi Arabia, UAE, Turkey, South Africa, Germany, France, UK, Netherlands, Brazil, Thailand, Taiwan, and South Korea.
Now the flagship deal is in ruins.
Analysts saw it coming.
The entire model — healthcare company buys Bitcoin, stock moons — made no fundamental sense, they said.
For instance, KindlyMD reported less than $10 million in revenue in the second quarter of 2025. That’s hardly a drop in the bucket for a firm that only months later would be raising billions to buy Bitcoin.
And KindlyMD isn’t alone in the scheme.
Metaplanet, a former budget hotel operator turned Bitcoin stockpiler, has also raised billions to buy Bitcoin — without much of a business model. So has famed retail videogame shop GameStop, and dozens of others.
In fact, renowned short sellers like Jim Chanos, who made a name for himself by calling the Enron collapse in 2001, have been targeting Bitcoin treasury firms for this very reason.
“We are seeing SPAC-like 2021 numbers in the Bitcoin treasury market right now,” Chanos said back in July.
Now, Nakamoto’s collapse won’t kill the Bitcoin treasury trade, but for retail investors who bought the top — and its accompanying hype — the lesson is expensive but clear: not every company can be a MicroStrategy.

The Powerball jackpot continues to climb after nobody matched all the numbers and the Powerball in the Sept. 15 drawing, but for one lucky Florida ticket holder, there’s some good news.
Make that really good news.

A ticket sold at a Fort Myers Publix matched five numbers and the Power Play to win $2 million.
It was the only winner in Monday night’s drawing as the jackpot climbs to an estimated $81 million for the next drawing Sept. 17.
Winning numbers from the Sept. 15 drawing were: 14-15-32-42-49.
The Powerball was 1 and the Power Play was 2x.

A winning Powerball ticket in the Monday, Sept. 15, drawing was sold at the Publix on 2160 McGregor Blvd. in Fort Myers. It was a quick-pick ticket.
After matching five numbers and the Power Play, the prize is worth $2 million.

Fort Myers is located on Florida’s west coast, about 100 miles south of Tampa or 110 miles west of West Palm Beach.
The estimated Powerball jackpot for the next drawing on Wednesday, Sept. 17, is $81 million. Cash value is $37.9 million.
On Sept. 6, two tickets matched one of the largest jackpots of all time: $1.787 billion.

Prizes for Florida Lottery must be claimed within 180 days from the date of the drawing.
To claim a single-payment cash option, a winner has within the first 60 days after the applicable draw date to claim it.
You also can claim your winnings by mail if the prize is $250,000 or less. Mail your ticket to the Florida Lottery with the required documentation.
According to Florida Lottery’s website, winners cannot remain anonymous: “Florida law mandates that the Florida Lottery provide records containing information such as the winner’s name, city of residence; game won, date won, and amount won to any third party who requests the information.”
However, the site states, the “names of lottery winners claiming prizes of $250,000 or greater will be temporarily exempt from public disclosure for 90 days from the date the prize is claimed, unless otherwise waived by the winner.”
Lottery experts and lawyers have said there are ways to remain anonymous if you win.

The Bengals today made the following roster moves:
**Placed QB Joe Burrow on the Reserve/Injured list. Burrow, a sixth-year player, suffered a toe injury in Sunday’s game against Jacksonville.
**Signed QB Brett Rypien off the practice squad to the active roster. Rypien, a sixth-year player, signed on Aug. 27 to Cincinnati’s practice squad, where he spent the first two games of the season.
**Signed QB Sean Clifford to the practice squad. Clifford (6-2, 212), a second-year player out of Penn State, originally was a fifth-round draft pick of Green Bay in 2023. He spent his rookie season on the Packers’ active roster and played in two games, completing one pass for 37 yards. He then spent the entire 2024 season on Green Bay’s practice squad, and was waived by the Packers on Aug. 26. Clifford is a Cincinnati native and played at St. Xavier High School.
**Signed QB Mike White to the practice squad. White (6-4, 225), a sixth-year player out of Western Kentucky University, originally was a fifth-round draft pick of Dallas in 2018. He has played in 15 regular-season games with seven starts for the N.Y. Jets (2021-22), Miami (’23) and Buffalo (’24). His career totals include 199 completions on 324 attempts for 2247 yards and nine TDs with 13 INTs. He was waived by the Bills on Aug. 26.

XRP failed to hold above $3, with whale selling and a steep drop in network activity raising doubts about whether the community still has the strength to defend the token’s price.
XRP (XRP-USD) is struggling to hold above the $3 level after a rally that fizzled out as quickly as it started. The move now looks like a fakeout, with charts flashing bearish patterns and onchain data showing whales taking money off the table. For an asset that relies so heavily on community momentum, the lack of follow-through has traders asking whether the XRP Army has lost some of its edge.

The XRP price has been forming a descending triangle on the daily chart since it spiked to multi-year highs at $3.66. This situation, which pairs a flat support with lower highs, usually hints at a continuation downward. The brief breakout above the triangle looked promising, but it failed fast as buyers could not hold $3.
Now, the 50-day moving average is sitting right at that level, making $3 an important battlefield. If XRP cannot reclaim it, the next support levels to watch sit around $2.70, then $2.50 at the 200-day average. Technicals even suggest a possible slide all the way down to $2.06, which would mean giving up more than 30% from current prices.
Onchain data shows that large holders wasted no time unloading their bags once XRP touched $3.10. Addresses holding between 1 million and 10 million XRP have shed more than 160 million tokens in the last two weeks, worth nearly half a billion dollars. Their total holdings are now at a six-week low.
This wave of selling suggests that whales expect lower prices ahead, despite bullish headlines about spot ETF approvals and possible Fed rate cuts. Adding to the pressure, exchange reserves for XRP jumped by 665 million tokens over the past two weeks, swelling the supply available to sell into the market. This is rarely a bullish signal.
Perhaps more concerning is what is happening under the hood. XRP Ledger activity has dropped sharply over the past two months. Daily active addresses are now around 21,000, less than half of the 50,000 peak seen in July. New addresses have fallen even harder, from 11,000 per day earlier this year to just 4,300 now.
Lower participation often translates into weaker price action. Without fresh buyers and steady transaction volume, rallies run out of steam faster. For XRP, which thrives on the narrative of adoption and network strength, the drop-off raises doubts about whether traders and users are still as committed as they once were.
The XRP Army has long prided itself on defending price levels and pushing back against bearish sentiment. But with whales cashing out, network activity fading, and the price stalling below $3, the community is facing one of its toughest tests in years.
If bulls cannot reclaim the $3 line with conviction, the charts suggest a slide toward $2 could be next. And while XRP has defied the odds before, the question now is whether the same energy that once fueled its strongest rallies is still there.
At the time of writing, XRP is sitting at $3.
