A lot of money, something like $775 million, is up for grabs.
In the last few days, the Powerball jackpot has increased by $35 million, making it one of the top 10 biggest prizes in history.
The last time a jackpot of a similar magnitude was won was in September, when players in Missouri and Texas split the $1.787 billion jackpot, the second-largest prize ever.
Its estimated cash value now stands at $362.5 million (before taxes), which can be paid out as a one-time, cash lump sum, or in annuity payments over 29 years. Either way, a player, or players are in for one sweet Christmas if the prize is won.
Here’s when the next Powerball drawing will be, if you’re feeling lucky.
The next drawing will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 3, at 10:59 p.m. ET.
Playing the Powerball is simple:
Players may also add “Power Play,” a $1 feature that increases the winning for all non-jackpot prizes. The “Power Play” multiplier can multiply winnings by: 2X, 3X, 4X, 5X or 10X.
If you’re not feeling particularly lucky, or simply want the computer to do the work for you, the “Quick Pick” option is available. All of the numbers selected with the “Quick Pick” option are computer generated.
Players must match all five white balls in any order and the red Powerball to win the jackpot. Drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday night. If no one wins the jackpot, the cash prize will continue to tick up.
Gas stations, convenience stores, and grocery stores all sell lottery tickets. Some airport terminals may sell tickets, too.

Louisville coach Jeff Brohm turned down overtures from Penn State on Wednesday to remain with the Cardinals, sources tell Sports Illustrated.
After the Nittany Lions were rebuffed by BYU’s Kalani Sitake on Tuesday, Brohm was presented with terms of a deal by Penn State. Agreeing to leave on the same day Brohm was signing a new freshman class with Louisville was not an attractive option, sources say.
More than 50 days after firing James Franklin, the Penn State search is still an ongoing affair as the school has been turned down by a number of candidates. Sources say former New York Giants coach Brian Daboll, who was fired from that job last month, could be an option. In addition to extensive NFL experience, Daboll previously was the offensive coordinator at Alabama under Nick Saban.

Brohm and Louisville athletic director Josh Heird have been in talks in recent weeks about reworking his contract and other program enhancements. Brohm is believed to be more interested in NIL resources than anything else.
The 54-year-old Louisville graduate and native just completed his third season at the school with an 8–4 record, capped by a 41–0 rout of rival Kentucky. Brohm’s overall record with the Cardinals is 27–12, the most wins in a three-year span for a Louisville coach since Bobby Petrino from 2004 to ’06.

LANSING, MI — A Newaygo County man’s excitement and a little help from the ‘luckiest store in Michigan’ helped him land a $1 million prize last month.
“I’d heard about the Michigan Lottery’s Super Raffle game and was pretty excited about it because of the odds,” said the 29-year-old player who chose to remain anonymous. “I was telling everyone I know about the game and that they should buy a ticket because it had the best odds ever to win $6 million and many other prizes.”
The player put his money where his mouth is and in July stopped at Party World, located at 5568 Alpine Avenue Northwest in Comstock Park to purchase a $50 ticket.
“I drove by Party World, which advertises as the luckiest store in Michigan, so I stopped in to buy a Super Raffle ticket,” the player said. “The day of the drawing, I got a call from my wife and thought something bad had happened because she was in tears, until she said: ‘You won $1 million on your Super Raffle ticket!’ I didn’t believe her, so she sent me a picture of the ticket, and I checked it myself.
“When I saw I really did win $1 million, my heart started pounding! It was pretty surreal. I hope to turn this prize into generational wealth by investing the majority of the money.”

The player’s ticket — 049686 — was selected as a $1 million winner in the drawing held on Nov. 19. He elected to receive the money as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $693,000 rather than the annuity. He plans on investing the winnings.
“This lucky player was interested in the Super Raffle game because of the odds, and the odds were in his favor after he won a $1 million prize,” said Lottery Commissioner Suzanna Shkreli. “I also want to congratulate Party World, a Comstock Park retailer known as a lottery lucky spot, for selling the winning ticket and for continuing their 10+ year streak of selling huge lottery prizes.”

The last players from Michigan to win a Mega Millions or Powerball jackpot is the Breakfast Club lottery club which claimed an $842 million jackpot in June 2024. The members plan to use the money to buy a home in Florida and travel.
And while they were lucky winners, it’s smart for players to check their tickets immediately as a Powerball winner worth $250,000 sold in Bloomfield Hills in 2024 went unclaimed. That money went to the state’s School Aid Fund.
