(WACH) — Powerball players in South Carolina are checking their tickets after two winning Thanksgiving-week prizes were sold ahead of Monday night’s $740 million jackpot drawing.
A $1 million Powerball ticket was sold in Columbia, and another ticket worth $50,000 was purchased in Yemassee for the Wednesday drawing, lottery officials said.
The $1 million ticket, which matched the first five white balls, was purchased at the Best Stop, located at 5318 Bush River Road in Columbia.
The $50,000 winner, which matched four white balls and the red Powerball number, was sold at Nouria (EnMarket) at 315 Yemassee Highway in Yemassee.
The winning numbers were 7, 8, 15, 19, 28, and the Powerball was 3.
Players have 180 days from the drawing date to claim prizes. Details on how to claim winnings are available here.
The odds of matching five white balls are 1 in 11,688,054, while the odds of matching four white balls plus the Powerball are 1 in 913,129.
Proceeds from the SC Education Lottery support education, prizes, retailer commissions, and payments to contractors.
